Twisted Wonderland AU#1: Heluseanetic Free De La Hoya

(Ha-lose-a-net-ick)

(He doesn't look like that for the interview part of the backstory, He's telling what happened in the aftermath of the "Mind-terror." Incident, as he likes to call it.)

Backstory:
(gore warning!)
Free sighed as he walked through a dark empty hallway. He was being interviewed to explain why he went missing for 3 Months. He stopped in front of a desk, and a tired looking women appeared. "Hello, You're...Ah Free de la hoya. No.1 blader in the world correct?" Free noded, But internally laughed. She sounds just like me! That's funny. The women typed something on a computer, then stood up. "okay, follow me.." She said. Free walked silently after her. She stopped in front of a big heavy-duty steel door. That's completely unnecessary, do they think i'm psycho? Well, after what I went through, I might as well be.. "Right in here, Mr. De la hoya. Your interviewer is waiting inside." Free noded, "Thanks, and please, Just call me Free-" He shuddered. "It sounds weird when you say it like that.." The tired women waved and left, swinging the steel door shut with a really loud BANG. Free jumped in surprise, and a quite laugh came from behind him.

"Hello, Free! It's nice to meet you, please, come take a seat." He turned around to see a young man, with friendly light green eyes. "I'm Alexander, but you can call me Alex!" He said. Free sat down on the comfy-looking chair behind him. "You wanted to see me?" Free asked, making sure he showed no emotion in his voice. Alex nodded, his face suddenly turning serious. "We want to know what happened to you in the past 3 months. You completely dropped off the blading radar. What happened, and answer truthfully, everything you say here, will be transferred to the head of our organization, which will then go to your team owner, Christina Kuroda." Alex said. Free nodded silently, Why would I lie? "Okay, I'll share my story...And no matter how dumb or weird it may sound,..... Trust me....It's all real..."

IT'S ALL SILAS' FAULT. He made me the way I am now. The selfish bastard wanted to be the world's best blader. But Silas doesn't listen to reason. I could feel it, I felt his desire and want like it was my own. I remember it clearly, I was helping Valt with his launch power and his ability to control valtryek as he launched it. I felt like i was being watched. Valt told me to stop being so worried, I should have listened to him, but i couldn't shake the nagging feeling. It was about 11pm when we stopped and went to bed. That's when it hit me, A powerful wave of need. It hurt so bad i had to crouch down. I looked around wildly, trying to figure out where the emotion came from. Then, I felt a sudden Sharp pain in my head, And the sound of a baseball bat cracking when it hit the ball. I blacked out.

The next thing i knew, I woke up in a dimly lit room, Tied to a chair. I tried to scream, but it felt like my throat closed up. A sick laughter echoed from somewhere behind me. "Oh Free~ Don't even try, you can't speak! I've paralyzed your throat, So you can't even utter a word!" He said. I recognised that voice, I had to put up with it every day. A pair of sharp, pointed teeth glowed in the dim light, And i knew exactly who it was, But why? Silas stepped out of the darkness, or rather melted out of it. "Hello Free~, please do try to keep quiet! I can't have anyone finding you~" I glared at him, only one question showed in my eyes. Why? Silas seemed to understand, because he answered that question. "You're wondering why I kidnapped you hm? Because you have something I want~" I blinked. What? I haven't taken anything from him...Oh...He wants my spot of number one blader... Silas suddenly grabbed my left arm, holding it, he took out a small needle. Pink liquid sat inside it. "This is one of my little creations. I call it: Mental fluid! Do you like it?" I stared in horror. Was he going to...inject me with that thing?!

I felt a sharp stab as he pushed the needle into my forearm. The "mental fluid" disappeared into my arm with rapid speed. My muscles ceased up, and my arm started to burn. I clenched my eyes shut, and felt tears running down my face. This hurt worse than when my veins popped when I was blading, when I got my arm band. "Huh? Well would you look at that! The fluid hurts! I have to write that down." Silas chuckled. My head spun, and I shivered. The more I moved, the more it hurt. Maybe I'll...maybe I'll just sleep it off...I rapidity grew tired. Closing my eyes, I nodded off into a painful sleep.

I woke up to the sound of children's laughter. Already super creepy. I blinked open my eyes, my whole body hurt, and my left arm felt numb. I looked down to make sure that I still actually had my arm, and shrieked in horror. My arm was covered in glowing neon swirls. The entire left side of my body; including my clothes, was covered in them as well. I looked up, and froze. In front of me was an entire amusement park. People were talking and running around. There were food stands, including fast food and desserts. A gigantic ferris wheel stood a few feet away. I looked at the sky, it was a beautiful sunny day, but there was something up with the clouds. They were pink, hot pink, and looked like they were made of cotton candy. How...how on planet earth did I get here?!

A little girl ran up to me and waved. "Hello mister! I like your hair! It's so rainbow-y!! Oh welcome to Wonderland!" She said, her mom came up and pulled her away, apologizing. I blinked, No one ever came up to me like that, without recognizing me. Who was that? And what's up with my hair? I walked over to the closest mirror. And realized, the girl was right. The left side of my hair did look like a rainbow. Neon pink, blue and orange coloured my hair, covering the bottom half of my red streak with the same colours. But the scariest part was, that I had a huge fang poking out of the corner my mouth. I gingerly touched it, it felt sharp, sharper than the sharp-toothed bladers back at home. Speaking of home, WHERE THE HELL AM I?!?

The girl said something about wonderland..But that place isn't real. "Oh wonderland is real alright. And you're in it.." I jumped at the sound of the little girls voice again. I turned around, and this time I got a good look at her. Her hair was hot pink. Brighter than Chris's. Her eyes were a weird bright blue, and had white swirls, like in a hypnotic way. When she smiled at me, I saw she had two small fangs in the corners of her mouth. "I'm Mira! You?" She asked. I shook my head. "I'm Free. Free de Le Hoya." I answered. Mira giggled, and I realized she didn't look older then 7. "That's a cool name!" She said. "How'd you know I thought wonderland was fake?" I tilted my head, my voice slowly going back to normal. Mira looked down and shuffled her feet. "I..I can hear people's thoughts... sorry, I sometimes forget people never said them out loud, so I answer without thinking.."

I smiled, "That's really cool, The mind reading that is." Mira gasped. "Really! You think it's cool!?" I nodded, and Mira giggled with delight, dancing around in a circle. "Oh, Free, did you notice your voice has an echo to it? Like your talking into a well or something like that!" I tilted my head in confusion. "It does?" I gasped in surprise. My voice really did echo!! Mira smiled. "We call people with echo-y voices, echovoices!" She said. "I'll take you on a tour of Wonderland!" Mira grabbed my hand and led me around.

Over the next couple of weeks, Mira and I became really good friends. But the problem was, She said...when new people arrive in Wonderland, they start going crazy. I didn't want to believe her, but it started to be too much. The constant loud noises, the insanely bright colours it..it was too much. One day, I woke up, and felt unbelievably grumpy for some reason. I got out of my bed, which was made out of Cotton candy, and walked downstairs. Mira had invited me to stay at her house, and her mom eventually gave in. But as soon as I got downstairs I took one look at Mira's mom, who was making breakfast, and grabbed the closest large knife, and threw it, right at her heart. She shrieked with agony, and blood splattered everywhere. I froze, as Mira's mom fell in slow motion to the floor, gasping for air. More blood oozed out of her chest and poured onto the floor. Not even five minutes later, She was definitely dead.

My heart pounded in my ears, and my body shook. I felt myself walk forward, and knelt down in front of the dead body. I reached my hand up and grasped the knife, still deeply lodged in her chest, and tore It downwards, relishing the sounds of bones cracking and muscles and skin splitting apart.
I trailed the knife down Mira's mom's chest, down to her stomach. Then, when a reasonably large gash opened, I took the knife out with a squelching sound. I reached my hand into her body, and grabbed onto which ever slimy organ I could get a hold of, and ripped it out with ease. I did that to everything else, until she was just a hollow shell. A pile of still-throbbing organs sat beside me.

I sat back, I was covered head to toe in sticky red blood, and stank like it too. I sat panting for a bit, while I registered what I had just done. "Free?" A quiet voice asked from beside me. Oh dear god...Mira! "Mira?! I....I'M SO SORRY!!!" I got up and dropped the knife, looking at my best friend in terror. But she wasn't scared, or even angry. Her eyes were...sympathetic.. "Free..it wasn't you're fault..Wonderland madness got to you that's all..." she got up and ran up to me, and hugged me so hard I thought all the air was pushed out of me. But I didn't have the courage to hug her back.. I tore away from her, and ran towards the door. I threw it open and ran out, ignoring Mira's pleas to bring me back.

I walked through the wretched park for weeks, it was bigger than I thought.
Every once in a while I had to stop, because the pain of forcing myself not to cry hurt too much. I would run into a food tent and sit at the back, hidden from anyone, and cry. I would cry until my lungs ached, and my shirt was soaked with tears. Then I'd fall asleep, and wake up, and repeat the process again and again and again. Walk, cry, sleep repeat. 3 months of this past, and I'd walked around the whole park 3 times. I couldn't take it anymore, I had to leave. And I only knew one way to do it, ...I'll have to kill myself here, to get back to the real world.

It was a bright warm sunny day, people were out and about, and Wonderland seemed peaceful. I'll do it today, I need to leave, I hate this place. I ran to the Ferris wheel, and asked to ride it. The Wheel stoped as more people got on, and I was at the top. I took out the wrench that I'd snook on, and slammed it into the spot where the glass connected with the bottom part.
It popped off and I flipped it off the seat. Shocked yells echoed from underneath me but I knew the people down there weren't real. I stood on the seat, looking down at the ground very far below me. Just do it free, this place isn't real, the friends you made aren't real either. You'll wake back up at home... I hope.. I took a deep breath, and fell.

I woke up gasping for air, I felt like I had drowned. I looked around, I was back in the room where Silas left me, Still tied to the chair. I ripped the rope, and tried to stand up, but my legs were really weak and I fell. Somehow, I managed to walk up to the flight of stars and went up it,...Into...Chris's office? I'm still in BC sol?! I ran down the halls and into the training centre. Every BC sol blader stared at me as I bust open the door. Valt screamed and ran up to me, everyone else joining in. It was too much so fast. I dodged them and ran behind Chris, shaking. "F-Free?! Dear god!! It really is you!" She turned around and hugged me, crying. "We thought you died! You've been missing for 3 months!!" I blinked, slowly closed my eyes, and let exhaustion take over me. I fell forward into Chris's arms and fell asleep. She giggled and carried me back to my room.

I wasn't the same since. I flinch when someone calls my name, and I can't handle blood anymore. I miss Mira so badly it hurts, but I know I'll never see her again. Mira wasn't real. Silas on the other hand, was now the one person I feared the most. I avoid him completely now, and no one else knows why....
