Trey then asks, "Jamil, you've been friends with Kalim for a long time, right? You have any fun memories of this place?"

"Hmm..." Jamil thinks for a bit, and says, "For meals, staff either bring something from home, or we have food provided for us here. But there was this one time when I couldn't bring my own lunch."

"Why not?" Jamil asks.

"Because after I made it, my sister absconded with it," Jamil says.

"At least it's a cute reason!" Cater says.

"Your cookin's so good, I'd steal it too!" Grim says.

Sereia turns to Grim, "But you sometimes do that anyway."

Then Jamil continues, "There was no staff meal being offered that day, so I went to the kitchen and made lunch for myself. And since I was using the mansion's kitchen, I made enough to share with my coworkers. But then they started talking about how good my cooking was. Word reached Kalim's mother and father, and they told me they wanted to try some. Which led to me having to make lunch for the Asim family."

"That's very impressive," Briar says.

Even Cater is impressed, "Wow. So what'd you make?"

"I was going to make a multi-course meal featuring lamb, but they said they wanted to have what I normally ate... So I made wet burgers," Jamil says.

"What are those?" Cater asks.

"I've never heard of that before. Are they just moist hamburgers?" Trey questions.

"They're hamburgers soaked in tomato sauce," Jamil answers, "The bun absorbs the sauce like a sponge, giving it a soft texture."

"Your description doesn't make it sound terribly appealing," Mallues says.

"Sheesh, what a buncha picky babies. Now, me? I'll eat anythin'!" Grim says.

"I think you'd like it if you tried it. They're a popular street food here," Jamil says.

"Really? No kidding. So how did Kalim's parents like it?" Trey asks.

They loved it," Jamil answers, "People here eat it all the time, but the two of them had never had it before. I had a feeling the burgers would be new to them. And they seemed to enjoy my special sauce."

"It was my first time trying it too! It was SO good!" Kalim says.

"Sounds really good. I wouldn't mind having some myself," Briar says.

"Mission accomplished, then," Cater says.

"Yes, well... Now they expect me to make family lunch several times a year. Though to be fair, I do get help from the master chefs who work in the kitchen," Jamil says.

"Isn't that cool? Everyone loves Jamil's cooking! Myself included, of course," Kalim happily says, "I wanted more people to try it, so I started inviting lots of different people over for those meals!"

"And these were not the sort of people who should be served simple home cooking from an amateur," Jamil says, "You wouldn't believe how hard I racked my brain in the lead-up to those lunches..."

"You know, sometimes I can't decide if Jamil's incredibly astute or completely clueless..." Cater replies.

And then Jamil says, "Anyway, we're all dressed now and our luggage is safely stowed. Let's head into town for some sightseeing."

"Yeah! Time for some fun!" Kalim happily says.

But Jamil reminds him, "Kalim, you have rounds to make."

"Aww! But I wanna go!" Kalim says, dejected.

And Jamil points out, "You can't. Go do your job and let me be the tour guide."

Kalim soon gives in, "Fiiine. I'll find you guys as soon as I'm done! Later, gators!"

"Take care, Kalim," Briar says.

With that, Kalim takes his leave.

Once Kalim is gone, Jamil turns to the group to ask, "Okay, time for a little tour of Silk City. Any requests?"

Trey says, "I'm curious to try some local cuisine we can't get anywhere else. Especially desserts. I want to try as many as I can, so I can learn the recipes and make them at home."

"Yeah! I wanna eat ALL the street food!" Grim happily says.

"I'd like to really take in this country's culture. I know that sounds vague... But I want to feel like I've truly visited the Scalding Sands, so I can tell Lilia about it later," Cater says.

Cater thinks for a minute, "Hmm... Well, I'd like to see stuff you can only find in the Scalding Sands. Like 'cammable buildings or local specialties."

"In that case, we'll stop by the Camel Bazaar first," Jamil says.

"Now you're talkin'! It's EATIN' TIME!" Grim happily says.
