Special To This World
"What's wrong, Yumi, I he-" The bidders stare at the twins, who stood by the door. But Yumiko was glaring, Yukio calmly speaking to the person there. They soon invite them in with Yukio glaring at his sister to go along with it.
An elder couple entered, looking around with a strict gaze as they chatted with each other. They don't hesitate to welcome themselves in and sit at the couch while Baba and Ota struggle to shuffle out of the way of their butts.
Yumiko and Yukio sit in arm chairs beside each other, looking at the couple.
"So, Kiyoshi, Kohana. Where have you been this whole time?" the man asks, looking at them with a raised brow and a sharp gaze.
"Don't call us that. We changed it."
"Ah yes, going against our wishes long ago by naming yourselves Yukio and Yumiko." the woman replies mockingly. "Well you didn't object, did you?!" Yumiko hisses.
"We have told you not to do so but you went ahead and did it."
"What's the point of us not changing it?! It's not like you even knew our names!" Yumiko begins raising her voice but Yukio grabs her shoulder and coaxes her to sit down.
"Tone it down. We'll talk about it rationally." he whispers.
"Rationally?! After what they did to us 20 years ago, you give them respect that should instead be given to a decent human being?!"
"Don't you dare disrespect us!" they yell and the tension in the room was thick as the couple and Yumiko have a stare down. "We came here all the way for this?" the woman growls.
"For what? For the thing you deserve?" "Yumiko! Sit down and behave!" Yukio scolds and grabs her hands but for once, she disobeys.
"No! These two need to learn that not everything revolves around them. To me, they're nothing but pathetic excuses for human beings," she screeches, glaring at the couple resentfully.
"Well, come on, now, pretty lady... I don't think they-"
"Don't what, Baba? You don't think it was that bad?! When they left their own kids at the age of 5 to rot and die out there?!"
"Wait... Do you mean they're... your parents Yukio told us about?"
Yumiko turns to her brother for a minute before turning back to her parents and the bidders.
"I don't have any parents. And I certainly wouldn't want creatures like them of such kinds to raise me."

"Kohana Akiyama, get back here right now." but Yumiko keeps walking, not once turning back. "I don't know why I have to listen to the likes of you." she snarls before disappearing into their suite with a bang.
"Mom... Dad... I think you should just leave for now, I need to-"
"Kiyoshi, tell us. What have you lead her to do? You painted your hair silver and your eyes into red?!" their mother cuts him off with a disbelieving shriek.
"Well, you see, I-" "No excuses, son. You know what? It's obvious that you're not ready to live life on your own. You are coming home. Be packed tomorrow and we'll come take you."
Their father continues but there was a wicked glint in his eye and a small mean smirk playing on the couple's lips.
"Sorry, but I can't go without Yumiko." "And that's why we're taking her. Whether she likes it or not."
"Excuse me?" An angry voice called from behind the bunch and there stood Yumiko in her jacket, looking at her parents with astonishment. "It's decided that you don't know how to take care of yourself. Like look at what you've done. Silver hair? Red eyes?"
"I'm fine the way I am." "Like hell you are, Kohana!" her father yells, rising from his seat as he stalks towards her.
"And besides, dad," she emphasizes his name with venom dripping from her tone. "Like I'd go back to that dump you call home."
"Why you little brat-!"
"You made up your mind 20 years ago when you kicked us out, and you suddenly want us back? Isn't that strange?" she grins maliciously with fire burning in her eyes. "And besides? What would you want with worthless kids?" she taunts even more.
"It doesn't matter now. You are 25 years old and still as useless! We need to teach you how to work through life."
"By what? Getting kids and throwing them out just like you did?" "Don't you dare sa-"
"Alright," Eisuke's firm voice cuts through the air and everyone turns to him with either worried, or angered eyes. "Ma'am, sir, I'm sorry, but you'll have to leave."
"Well we are taking our children with us." they retort and grab the twins with the mother tugging Yukio and Yumiko with her father.
"I'm afraid you'll have to leave them here." "And why is that? It's not like someone adopted them. Pathetic." their father hisses but everything snapped in Soryu when he suddenly hit Yumiko's head from the back side.
"Leave. Now." Soryu never knew what happened until he had pulled the trigger on the twins' father. "I apologize but if this keeps up, I'll have to ban you from this hotel." Eisuke adds.
"Let's go for now, Akihiko. We'll settle this sooner. They are still our children by law!"
"Not when we're adopted!" Yumiko shouts back and before they could turn around, shoves them out of the room.
"Pathetic. I've had enough shit for a day. It's freakin' 1:00 am. Those to better go to hell." Yumiko mutters as her twin tries his best to clam her down. "I'm going out to the roof, no one bother me." she snaps and disappears in the elevator, coldly shaking away her brother's offered comforting hand.

A thin layer of snow covered the roof as winter was fast approaching. With nothing but a sweater on, the girl sits by the edge, looking down to the people who looked nothing more than ants below. It was dark but some city lights were still on, some buildings still awake despite the late time.
She looks out to the vast scenery as the early winter breeze blew by her softly. She couldn't help but think:
"Yukio said that under every one of those lights is someone's happiness, or sadness... How come every time I'm under one of those, all I feel is pain and loneliness?"
And the door creaks open.
"What do you want, Yukio?"
"It's me." a deep voice called quietly and she turned to see Soryu striding up to her. He takes a seat beside her again and just like last time, the two were quiet and the mobster knew that this was all she needed right now.
"So what're you doing here? Shouldn't you probably go to bed?" "Shouldn't you be, too?" "Caught me red handed."
They chuckle and Yumiko stares up to the sky with a forlorn look and she speaks with a meek voice. "Hey, Sor?" "Hm?"
"Do you think I should go with my parents? Maybe I am just a worthless piece of crap... Maybe I just waste everyone's time..."
"I can't believe I'm saying this but this is a one time thing. Follow your feelings and as some people would say, your heart."
"Doubt I even have one at this point." self loathing was evident in her voice as she chuckled bitterly. "Then you wouldn't be alive." he retorts playfully with a small smile.
"I guess so." a small smile also adorns her lips as her eyes twinkle with silent tears. Illuminated by the moonlight, the two sat quietly once more as the snow sprinkled around them. "I just sometimes wish I wasn't. Is it wrong to think that?" and she speaks again.
But this time Soryu couldn't reply. Was she suicidal?
"Lots of people think that but only those who are the strongest pull through." his hands lands on her shoulder. "And you're one of them."
"Thanks for the pep talk. Who knew you had a tender side?" she giggles, "I'll be going to bed. See you around, Soryu."
But as she left the roof, she could hear his whisper.
'You're special, Yumiko. Special to this world.'
