I Could Get Used To This

"Yuki?" Yumiko pokes her head into the lounge, where Yukio was endlessly being teased by the bidders about his pajamas. After their long shopping trip earlier, Yumiko has somehow managed to convince the bidders to order pizza as their dinner to be delivered up to the lounge while they all watched a horror movie.

Baba and Ota were easily convinced, Ota even insisting to build a fort with as many cushions and pillows as possible, Baba, of course going along with the artist's suggestion. Soryu and Eisuke took a bit more work but after agreeing to work with the Dragons when needed and guarding the auctions and IVC, she was able to convince the CEO and mobster. Mamoru, well, it wasn't too difficult. Especially since Yukio, Yumiko, Ota and Baba will be using the fort, meaning he could have one of the big sofas to himself during the movie.

"Yumiko! Look what you did!" he said as the bidders kept on teasing him. "Don't complain, Yuki!" Baba laughs, "You look cute!"

Yukio pouts and rolls his eyes, glaring at his sister, who walks up to him. "Gomen... It's just that you never do things like this with me." she says cutely, hugging her brother, arms around his waist as she buried her face in his chest.

Yukio sighs and ruffles her hair with a small grin. "Fine. But the next time something happens, you owe me." "Of course."

Before anyone else could say anything, there was a knock at the door. "Pizza!" Yumiko yells happily as Yukio stands to go get the door, Baba and Ota settling into the fort with EIsuke settling into his arm chair and Soryu sitting in another. Mamoru was sprawled across the sofa facing the wide TV.

Yumiko has settled on one side of the pillow fort, leaving a spot for Yukio on her left, leaving Ota and Baba to whine about her never sitting beside them. But as Yumiko waited for the smell of pizza to waft in the lounge, she instead heard a familiar voice by the door.

Poking her head out the fort, she saw Luke standing there in casual wear, just jeans and a black shirt. (A/N: Just so you know, he normally doesn't wear this, I know. But I just imagined it and yeah.)

"Foster? What are you doing here?" Yukio asks, Yumiko getting up from the fort and walking over. "I don't even know... Um... Baba and Ota had called me here earlier."

"Oh yeah! Come on in, Luke! We're having a sleepover!" Ota says, running over and grabbing the older man, dragging him inside.

"What am I here for...?" "A sleepover, of course! But I thought I told you to come in pajamas?" Ota asks, looking at his outfit.

"People would look at me strange... They already stare at me weirdly." he says, patting himself off before sitting in front of the fort.

"I'm sure it's just the women staring at you with bedroom eyes." Yumiko chuckles, sliding back into the fort, Yukio following suit as he settled beside her. "Yumiko, shush. We don't know that." he says, looking towards the TV with the remote.

"Now what does everyone want to watch?" Just then, another knock comes at the door. And before Yukio could move, Yumiko was dashing towards the door. "Um, Yumiko and Yukio Akiyama?" the man hesitantly says, looking at Yumiko with a small, shy smile.

"Ah, arigato!" she thanks the man with a smile and a quick wink. "Here's the cash." She gives the man the money before closing the door, the man staring until it slams in his face.

"Pizza's here!" she calls, bringing the two boxes of large pizzas into the lounge and setting it on the coffee table. "Baba, did you get the drinks?"

"Oh... I forgot..." the thief says, sighing while shaking his head.

"Tch, well we're not getting started without those drinks. And no, Eisuke, we're not using your fancy ass drinks, 'kay? We're gonna be normal for once." Yumiko says before anyone could speak. She was pretty sure Eisuke was going to say that.

"Ya know what, ya'll are in your pajamas. I'll just take Luke with me and get the drinks. There's a convenience store down the street around the area." Yumiko sighs, running back to her suite and within five minutes, comes out in jeans and a slightly over sized gray sweater that was a few shades darker than her silver hair.

"Let's go, Foster. I want to get started on the movie. Yukio, find one while I'm gone." she tells her older brother before dragging Luke out of the lounge.

Yumiko opens the door to the convenience store, Luke following suit. It was pretty empty, judging it was almost 10:00 pm. There was a young girl, maybe one or two years younger than Yumiko, who worked the counter.

"...O-oh, hi!" she greets after a moment, and Yumiko notices that she was mostly just speaking to Luke, who stares back quietly before looking down. "Did you need anything?" the question is once more, directed to Luke, who didn't reply.

"Just some snacks. We'll look together." Yumiko replies, grabbing Luke's hand before dragging him into a small aisle with snacks.

"Let's just grab the drinks and a few treats just in case. What do you think we should get?"

Luke looks around first before replying quietly, "Eisuke has a big sweet tooth... I know Soryu likes omelettes, too." he says before grabbing a bag of assorted chocolates and sweets.

"Okay, there's some eggs in the kitchen lounge and a few ingredients so that's covered already." she says, looking at the different shelves as well. She spots some bags of chips on top of a tall shelf. One too high for her too reach.

"Goddamit." she murmurs before moving a few items aside, using the spaces on the shelf to climb up to the top. She was reaching for the chips when her hand suddenly slipped. She lets out a squeal, closes her eyes, and wits for the pain.

But she felt a warm embrace all of a sudden and she hesitantly opens her eyes to see Luke's arms wrapped around her, the doctor's face hovering above hers as he caught her. "What were you trying to do?" she could feel his chest vibrating as he spoke, his deep voice tickling her ear from the side.

"I-I wanted to get the chips... But they're on the top shelf." she points at the snacks and Luke lets her go, looking at the shelf. For a moment, Yumiko sort of missed the warm embrace. It was foreign, but definitely one that was comfortable.

Luke's tall figure stretched and reached up as he grabbed three bags of chips, handing them to Yumiko. "There. Now let's go get the drinks and get back to the hotel."

After purchasing their needed things, Luke and Yumiko were quiet as they walked back to Tres Spades. Luke, after a small riot with Yumiko, was holding the two bags while Yumiko wore his jacket because she was complaining about being cold.

She breathed in the man's scent once more, which was surrounding her due to her wearing his jacket. But as they walked through the streets, approaching the tall structure of Tres Spades, Yumiko smiles slightly.

'It's a bit quiet... But I could get used to this...'
