"Bills have to be paid, Jungkook. Not all of us are successful businessmen." Y/N gave him a small smile, and he felt his heart race uncontrollably.

Fuck!

Jungkook averted his eyes right after he felt relief wash over him as the elevator doors finally opened. He waited for Y/N to go out first and followed her right behind, though his mind wandered to her figure many times. She was so tempting; indeed, perfectly shaped.

He could guess if one day he got very good luck and she undressed, her body would definitely fit perfectly in his hands.

Once he stepped outside, Jungkook felt like he could finally breathe. He yanked his tie as he walked toward the car that was always waiting for him outside his office. Opening the door, he shot the driver a look that told him to be ready. Y/N did a little hop and shuffle before settling into the car.

"I really don't need to eat. I can wait," she replied with a soft voice.

Jungkook shot her a glare as he took her crutches and put them in the trunk. While he glanced around at the busy city, Jungkook felt a small smile tug at his lips. He had Y/N in his car, and now he was finally given the opportunity to look after her. For once, his day was looking up.

He sat next to her, directing the driver to take them to an upper-class Italian restaurant recently opened. The food was top-notch, and he wanted to share the experience with Y/N.

She could feel the heat radiating from Jungkook beside her in the car, but brushed it off as her imagination. How could someone generate that much warmth just from sitting next to her? She pushed some of the hair away from her face, forcing herself to focus on the city passing by outside the window.

They were going to an Italian restaurant. Had Jungkook picked this place because he knew she loved Italian? How did he even know this? She began thinking jumbled thoughts as she tried to piece together what kind of man Jungkook was.

She felt tension in the car and kept her eyes outside, away from the man who sat beside her. This was the first time that they had been alone together, and he was somehow different. She did not want to dwell on why he suddenly acted very interested in her.

He hadn't even asked what she wanted for lunch. He just assumed.

Why are you getting mad? You're fine with anything.

She sat there, staring out the window, and tried to clear her head. Jungkook had been quiet on their way to the restaurant, and she found herself absentmindedly tracing the cast on her thigh. When they arrived, she was surprised to see Jungkook already standing at her door with her crutches. He reached out his hand to assist her from the car. A little hesitation before she took it, knowing it would be stupid to turn down his help.

Jungkook hovered near her as she balanced on the crutches.

"Okay to walk?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm good now," she replied, offering him a small smile. She followed him into the restaurant, relieved there were no steps to navigate. She hated having to deal with stairs on crutches.

She stood slightly behind him as he spoke to the maître d'. The moment they realized who he was, they were seated immediately.

"Wow, you know how to use your name," she joked.

"I do own all rights to my name," he said with a playful smirk at her until she laughed.

A waiter came over with a menu. Jungkook snatched it out of his hands before she had time to even look at it.

"I need to see that to order," she reminded him.

"No, you don't." He skimmed his eyes across the menu. "Get us two strong coffees with extra cream for the lady."

Y/N frowned. How did he know how she liked her coffee?

"I've been listening to you for the past few months, Y/N. It's hard to miss what you like."

She nodded still confused about how well he seemed to know her thoughts.

The waiter returned with their drinks. Another menu was placed on the table, and she looked to Jungkook to see if she was allowed to take it.

"Order whatever you like."

She gazed down at the menu list of meals and noticed there were no prices.

"Erm, may I borrow your menu when you're done?" she inquired.

"No. Lunch is on me. Order what you like, and I'll take care of it."

"I don't need you to pay for me.".

Jungkook looked over the top of the menu at her. "You said you were returning to work because you needed the money. Was that a lie?"

She felt her cheeks flush at his words. They hadn't been lies, but to hear her own situation tossed back at her stung.

He let out a sigh, and she dared a glance up at him.

"Lunch is on me. Don't get the wrong vibe, Y/N. I'm doing this for you. I overheard you telling Anaya that you've wanted to try this place out, and I'm just making sure that you get the opportunity. The food here is really good." Y/N smiled and looked back down at the menu, looking for new dishes to try with a passion and finally picked one.

She leaned back, tapping her fingers onto the table, after having told Jungkook her choice, once she cast a look at what the place looked like. It was an intimate setting, with small tables just big enough to fit two plates on. Under the table, she felt Jungkook's knee brushing against hers, or maybe that was her imagination. Being near him made her mind race.

"You can talk to me, you know."

She glanced back to Jungkook, sitting back in his seat, eyes watching her.

"Why do you hate me?" she blurted out before she could stop herself. She immediately bit her lip in regret at the hasty words.

Great job. Nice way to start a conversation.

"I don't hate you," Jungkook replied, smooth and sincere.
