Chapter 7

As Sebastian drove forwards on the desolate road he glanced beside himself and smirked.

Ciel was fast asleep, breathing softly as he leaned against the door.

Sebastian slowed the car, and stopped outside a large gate. He exited the car and stood outside a Mansion. It was decaying and seemed to be falling apart.

"This will do," he murmured.

After doing some quick repairs to the mansion, Sebastian went to the car and opened the car door, jolting  Ciel out of his nap.

"Young Master, I have found a suitable place for you to stay," he said, moving aside for Ciel to exit.

Ciel stepped out of the car and stared up at the magnificence looking manor in front of him. It was made of dark stone and had a large and welcoming presence to it, contrasting to the desolation surrounding it.

"I'm hungry for something sweet," He murmured.

"Very well. I shall begin preparing dinner and dessert soon."

Ciel headed to the front of the mansion where Sebastian opened the door and bowed.

Stepping inside, Ciel looked around his surroundings. The Mansion had  somber decor and was a royal blue. Despite not being inhabited for four years the manor managed to pull off a pleasant vibe.

Making his way up the stairs, his mind flashed back to the distant memory of his parents mansion where he had spent most of his childhood. The vision of two children running down the stairs and laughing gleefully caused him to take a hesitant step back as he began to breath heavily.

"Young Master? Are you alright?" Sebastian inquired, appearing behind him with a concerned look.

"I'm fine, leave me be," Ciel said, placing his palm to his forehead before collecting himself and continuing up the stairs.

Ciel opened the door to the room that would be his study and stepped inside. The room had a single brown desk and a chair with no other furniture. On the desk were basic office supplies such as paper and pens neatly stacked. He approached the desk and sat down, picking up a blank sheet of paper and writing on it.

A few moments later, Sebastian walked in carrying a small platter with cake and tea. He placed it down on the desk and stepped away.

"Sebastian," Ciel began, stopping Him in his tracks. "I want you to gather newspapers starting from January four years ago until printing declined."

"Yes, My Lord," He responded.

Sebastian leaped through the air, skillfully landing atop a newspaper printing building. Jumping down in front of the deteriorating building, he entered. Thousands of papers lay scattered throughout the floor in large heaps. Heaving a sigh, Sebastian had no choice but to shift through the discarded pile of newspapers for the respected dates Ciel required. This took a total of Five minutes and he managed to gather forty newspapers before he decided to leave and return to Ciel.

Stepping outside, a small sound  stopped him in his tracks. Turning his head ever so slightly behind him, his eyes softening as he placed the newspapers down for a moment.

Dark yellow eyes stared up at him questioningly.

"Such beauty," Sebastian murmured, slowly approaching.

The small creature flinched, as if it would take off at any moment, however it remained put as Sebastian slowly placed his hand on top of its head and ran his hand down the soft fur.

A soft purr escaped its lips and it nestled against Sebastian who lifted it up and began petting it.

"You're quite the lady," He chuckled as the small black cat continued to nestle up to him and loudly purr.

The tinkle of a bell earned Sebastian's attention as he took note of the blue studded collar around the cat's neck. Lifting up the name tag he read, "Mayonaka?"

The cat meowed in response and lifted a paw to Sebastian's shirt.

"I would love for you to accompany me but I'm afraid my young master won't allow it," Sebastian said, placing the cat on the ground and rubbing her head before gathering the newspapers from off the ground.

As he turned away, the cat let out a soulful cry, one that forced him to Stop in his tracks once again. Turning his gaze to the crushingly adorable expression on the cat's face he found he couldn't resist it.

As the two locked eyes, one filled with glittering beauty and irresistibly and the other filled with absolute adoration, it was decided right on the spot, the perfect solution.
