Chapter 19

Ferid grabbed Ciel and tucked him under his arm and, although Ciel had no intention of being a vampire's meal, he allowed the vampire to take him only because it meant this vampire would be the first one he killed.

From what Ciel could see he was being carried to a large mansion. When the doors opened he frowned at the sight of children inside smiling up at the vampire. It disgusted him and Ciel began mentally cursing them for being so weak willed and accepting of their fate as livestock.

Ciel wasn't placed down until Ferid reached a dining room. With his feet firmly on the ground Ciel whipped around and kept his eyes trained on the smiling vampire.

"Little Phantomhive, what was your name? You're--"

"Ciel. And you should enjoy today since it'll be the last day you'll ever live," He growled, his fists tightening.

"Ciel huh?" Ferid's eyes held amusement as he clasped his hands together, "Enjoy today I will! I was sure you had been taken away by a demon and eaten but here you are! I'm so excited to taste your blood!"

"As if i'll let you do that," Ciel responded, taking a step back.

Ferid moved in what seemed to be an instant and grabbed Ciel from behind.

Ciel gasped as his eyes widened, expecting to feel the sudden pain of a bite, but instead he felt the eye patch fall from his eye. Instinctively he put his hand to cover it but Ferid prevented him from doing so by holding his wrist and turning him to face him.

"A contract seal," Ferid commented, peering into the mark. "So that demon is still lurking around you right? Don't tell me that was the reason that half of our precious livestock was slaughtered? Tell me, did you order it?"

Ciel kept silent but Ferid chuckled nonetheless, "So I was right! What a naughty human you are!"

Ferid let go of his wrist and Ciel stepped back, not liking the way the vampire was behaving. It was as if he expected this much and it was unnerving.

"I suppose that pesky demon won't let me drink from you so I won't do anything. But i'm quite interested in you. How about we have a little chat over dinner?"

"Not going to happen," Ciel said.

"Really? Aren't you interested in who orchestrated the murder of  your parents?"

At the mention of his parents Ciel's eyes widened.

"I though so. Be a good boy and wait until the meal is ready then lets talk."

Ferid smiled and walked off leaving Ciel standing there with a pained expression on his face. The vampire seemed to know something about that day, and he had been there during that one month too. It appeared as though Ciel had no choice but to stay and find out what he knew. But something told him that the vampire wasn't going to divulge that information so easily.

Ciel sighed and bent down to grab his eye patch lying on the floor. When he picked it up he noticed the curious eyes of another boy leaning against the dining room wall.

The boy had his arms crossed and a bored expression on his face but it was his appearance that made Ciel stare. He was a blonde with almost mesmerizing blue eyes that seemed to hold a secret an appearance so familiar...

"Mika..." Ciel muttered, unable to keep the name silent. He blinked, Ciel's mind doing a double take before he frowned and examined the boy further. "You are..."

Understanding that Ciel was talking to him the boy smiled and moved from the wall, "Well hello there, I'm Alois Trancy. What's your name?"

As Ciel continued to stare at the boy he noticed the differences that he hadn't spotted before. The boy Alois had silkier hair than Mika and was slightly thinner. As he approached he walked with a sense of elegance that Mika never displayed, almost as if he believed himself to be royalty.

"Ciel." Was all he said to the boy, getting an unpleasant feeling from him.

"It's not often that Mr. Bathory invites new kids into his mansion. You must be pretty special."

Ciel didn't comment, he was busy trying to retie the eye patch to cover his eye but since it was Sebastian who had always adjusted it, he couldn't quite put it on right.

Alois laughed, "Hey, I'll help you. You look silly trying to put that thing on."

Ciel begrudgingly allowed him to tie it. Once his eye patch was correctly adjusted Ciel decided to do some investigation.

"Alois was it? How long have you been here with that vampire?" When Ciel turned, Alois seemed to go into thought before answering, "Not long, I just started coming a year ago but now Mr. Bathory says I can live here now. It's actually quite pleasant. He gives us food and everything in exchange for blood."

Alois grabbed his hand startling Ciel.

"Let me show you around, I can tell you'll love the library!"

Without waiting for a response, Alois dragged him out of the dining room.
