Break In

Tomura didn't allow y/n to go back to Giran's office the next day. This time, Tomura had a legitimate reason. He told y/n that she would be helping The League with transportation later that night. Tomura added that he didn't want to see y/n getting tired during the mission, and he suggested that she find the time to get some rest.

Tomura didn't go into any detail when y/n asked about the mission. Instead, he informed her that she would find out when everyone gathers. Knowing that the rest of The League was coming over made y/n's stomach knot up.

She knew a lot of The League didn't like her, especially after they learned that she intentionally left out details about her quirk. On top of that, there was also the time where she tried to get help. Y/n knew that none of them trusted her.

Y/n took Tomura's advice. She spent the day relaxing and doing nothing. Y/n's day consisted of chipping away at the two books she was now simultaneously reading before deciding to take a short nap.

Y/n felt a familiar cold brush up against her cheek. Her eyes fluttered open to see Tomura crouched down beside her. Y/n sat up and stretched. She scanned the hideout; no one had shown up yet. Tomura held the hoodie and mask in his hands. "They're coming soon, go get ready."

She sat up on her knees and took the hoodie and mask in her hands. Y/n watched Tomura walk away to finish getting himself ready.

Y/n threw on the hoodie and placed the mask on her lap. She glanced over to Tomura, who was now standing in the corner, applying the spare disembodied hands to his arms. Y/n ended up watching him while she struggled to put on the mask.

Tomura, now fully geared up, came back and knelt in front of y/n. She felt embarrassed, the villain could see her struggling with the mask. He carefully pulled her hands off and helped her secure it.

Y/n's eyes were fixed on Tomura as she watched him put on the mask for her. She could feel his fingers along her jawline, and Tomura gave a firm tug. It wasn't enough to hurt y/n but just enough to make sure it secured in place.

The villain's eyes were fixed on y/n. she wanted to ask what he was looking at, but she ignored it. Tomura reached out, tucking a lock of h/c hair behind her ear before taking her hood and placing it over her head. "Those look good on you." Y/n felt her face redden. She was thankful that the mask covered so much of her face.

Y/n watched as a portal opened up, and the other villains came filing inside. Tomura got off the ground and walked up to the group. Y/n followed behind him. As per usual, Himiko ran up to y/n and gave her a tight hug. "Ohh, what does that mask do? It looks so cute on you! Look at that heart design! I wish my mask had a cute design engraved like that." Y/n could see Himiko's eyes sparkle as she admired the heart design etched onto the mask. Himiko let out a small gasp. "I've seen this before." Himiko's hand grabbed onto the hoodie. "This is Tomura's, isn't it?"

Before y/n could answer her question, Tomura spoke up. "For now, the mask is to hide her appearance." Tomura didn't answer her second question.

"Well, well, well," an eloquently cheerful voice rang out; "Miss y/n looks much more like a villain now." Y/n looked over to Compress. She didn't appreciate being called a villain.

Dabi crossed his arms. "That's just because of that mask. It's hiding that scared and confused look she always has on her face," he said with a mocking tone.

Himiko twirled around and placed her hands on her hips. "Hey! Be nice to big sis. She doesn't need to be a serious, grump like you." Y/n put a hand on Himiko's shoulder. The girl turned to face y/n. Silence; y/n tried to talk, but the mask muffled her voice.

Y/n began to look bewildered as she rummaged through her jean pockets and hoodie pocket. She rushed off and started digging through her personal belongings. Finally, y/n returned with a little black box. She pressed the button on the side. "Sorry. I forgot I needed this," rang out through the small black speaker.

Himiko held the speaker in her hand. Her finger lightly touched the button. "So if I do this, big sis can't talk?" Y/n shot Himiko a look. Himiko giggled and pressed the button again.

Dabi chimed in again. "Hey, boss, can we get one of those for Twice too?"

"Excuse you!" Twice growled; "I'd love one!" he immediately added in a much more optimistic tone. Twice's attention moved to y/n. "It looks like garbage. You look great."

"Uhm..." y/n hummed, she didn't know what to say. Her eyes shot to both Tomura and Himiko.

As if she was talking to the speaker instead of y/n, Himiko pulled the little black box closer to her face. "Thank you."

"Thank you," y/n repeated.

Twice gave you a nod. "No problem! You better mean it next time."

Himiko placed the little speaker in y/n's hands. Y/n, feeling out of place, stood against the wall. Himiko grabbed y/n's arm and pulled her closer to the group. She let go of y/n's arm, leaving her right next to Spinner. Himiko gave her a sly grin as she walked away.

Y/n could feel Spinner looking her over, she felt uncomfortable. She shoved her hands in the hoodie's front pocket and looked towards the ground. He's not here if I don't look at him, she said to herself.

Tomura reminded everyone of tonight's objectives. The League was going to be split into pairs to cover as much ground as possible. Each group had thirty minutes to raid their blood blank. Y/n didn't feel like she needed to listen to Tomura pair everyone up. She already knew who she'll end up going with. There was only one option.

Group one was Twice and Himiko, group two was Dabi and Compress, and group three was Spinner and Kurogiri. That left Tomura and y/n as the final group. Just as y/n thought.

Kurogiri opened up various portals for his comrades.and everyone took the portal closest to them. Tomura took y/n's arm and pulled her to their warp gate. Kurogiri was the last one to leave, sliding into the same portal as Spinner.

Y/n could feel Tomura's hand slip off her as she passed through the warp gate. The blood bank was dimly lit through the open windows all along one wall. Through the windows. Y/n could see silhouettes walking by. She took a moment to stand off to the side and watched the world outside. There were many more police officers around.

Tomura ducked under the window and turned around to y/n. "Give me your voice box." Y/n did as he asked and tossed him her little speaker. Tomura crept around a corner. Y/n followed Tomura's lead. Hiding under the windows, she slowly made her way to Tomura.

The villain was waiting for y/n around the corner. He led her down a white, narrow hallway. It was so dark y/n could barely see a foot in front of her. She reached out as she followed the sounds of Tomura's footsteps, her fingertips touched the center of his back. She quickened her pace to catch up with Tomura and placed her whole hand on his back.

"You know where you're going?" her voice echoed out from Tomura's pocket. She couldn't recall Tomura ever taking the time to study the blood bank's floor plan. Y/n considered that he was probably doing that while you helped Giran out in the mornings.

Tomura kept heading forward. "Once you've been in one, you've been in all of them. They aren't much different layout, wise," he replied while continuing to walk forward. Y/n vaguely remembered hearing that The League previously raided a blood bank.

Tomura turned to a door and stopped. Y/n stood by his side and squinted her eyes, trying to see what he was doing. Tomura attempted to jimmy the handle, locked. Before she could ask if he knew how to pick a lock, she watched as the door handle disintegrated. A small pile of ash collected on the floor.

The door slowly swung open as Tomura flipped on a switch. The room was filled with rows of metal doors. Each metal door was a fridge filled to the brim with blood bags. Tomura stepped forward and opened a set of silver doors, a cold filled the room and escaped through the open door next to you.

"We aren't going to gather as much as the other groups," Tomura said as he took a blood bag in his hand. Y/n walked up to him, and he placed the bag in her hand. "We'll take what we can."

Y/n held as many blood bags as her arms could carry; Tomura had a few more than her in his possession. Tomura led y/n back to the main room. Kurogiri hadn't shown up yet. Tomura pondered out loud if Kurogiri and Spinner ran into trouble.

Y/n didn't think he sounded too concerned for their safety. Even so, she prayed that they will be alright. There'd be no way to get back to the hideout without Kurogiri. "Well, you said we can't carry as much, maybe we finished up faster?" Y/n tried to sound optimistic, but she was panicking deep down inside.

"We're going to leave through the back door if he doesn't show up in five minutes," Tomura decided; "you'll have to stay as close as you can to me. That back door has an alarm, it might go off if I use my quirk on it."

Y/n froze in her spot, unable to breathe as her brain registered what Tomura said. She hoped he was joking again. Right now, the hero was a short few minutes away, and there was an abundance of cops making rounds right outside. Y/n knew there was no possible way she could lose both the hero and police in such a short amount of time.

Y/n mentally pleaded for Kurogiri to come back soon. As if a miracle had just occurred, Kurogiri opened a portal just before Tomura's five-minute time limit. Y/n, feeling relieved, followed Tomura back to the hideout.

"Wait, that's all you brought with you?" Spinner snapped. Y/n looked over to Spinner and Kurogiri's pile. Their blood bag pile was nearly eight times bigger than what she and Tomura brought back.

"Well, excuse me," Tomura grumbled; "did we have a warp gate to make it easier?" Tomura placed the blood bags in his arms on top of the pile. He motioned y/n to do the same. She did as she was instructed and placed the bags in her arms on top.

Himiko came running through her portal with blood bags in her arms. Another Himiko ran after her. Twice followed far behind both the Himikos. The first Himiko beamed. "Look at all that blood!" She grabbed onto the other Himiko's arm and bounced excitedly.

The other Himiko joined in. "Can I keep some? The Nomu don't really need all that, do they?"

Tomura stood in front of the two Himikos and looked them over. "Did you remember to mark the original?"

Twice nodded. "I forgot."

Tomura grumbled about this being a pain. He grabbed both Himikos on the arm in each hand, while keeping a finger off both of them. "Are you the real one?" he asked the Himiko in his left hand.

The Himiko had a Cheshire grin on her face. "Maybe." The Himiko in his right hand began to freak out, which caused the Himiko in his left hand to freak out just as much. Tomura sighed. Placing his final finger down, the Himiko in his left hand dissolved into a dark puddle of goo.

Compress, and Dabi returned shortly after. Y/n raised an eyebrow. They both looked empty-handed. The pair pulled out handfuls of turquoise marbles and tossed them on the floor. Y/n knelt down and picked up a marble that rolled to her feet. She observed the small orb. It brought back bad memories.

The marbles expanded and took the shape of blood bags. Y/n placed the blood bag in her hand to the pile. As much as Compress' quirk brought back many bad feelings, y/n couldn't help but feel a little jealous of his quirk. She couldn't help but feel a bit jealous whenever she came across more desirable quirks. In y/n's opinion, most quirks were considered more desirable. She'd gladly trade quirks with anyone she's met, except maybe Tomura.

Tomura looked over all the blood. "This should be more than enough for the Nomu." He turned to the group. "Go home, all of you." Kurogiri sent everyone home and asked if Tomura was coming with him to deliver the blood supply.

Y/n wanted to come too, she was curious about how Nomu is made. Y/n stayed quiet. Kurogiri asked if Tomura was coming with him, not her. She didn't want to impose on them.

Y/n waved goodbye to the men as they left to deliver the blood bags. She sat down on the mattress and struggled to remove the mask. Her hands fumbled with the latches that were securely hooked onto each other. She could feel her hands trembling, growing more and more claustrophobic for every failed attempt at undoing the latches.

After floundering with her mask much longer than she'd like to admit, y/n finally pulled it off her face.Y/n gasped for air and tossed the metal contraption off to the side. She laid down on the mattress and stretched her hands out in front of her. Y/n noticed her hands were still shaking.

Y/n called her Nomu and ordered him to lay down at the foot of her bed. She wanted to stay up and wait for the villain pair to come back, but they were taking much longer than she anticipated. In the end, y/n fell asleep before Tomura and Kurogiri came back.

Kurogiri took Tomura to the Nomu. The blue-haired villain took a look at each capsule, observing each Nomu's development since the last time he's seen them.

"We have so many more to go," Kurogiri pointed out. "I'm glad you have begun including y/n lately. However, you must stop coddling her and allow her to do what she was brought on to do. " Kurogiri spoke in a scolding tone as if he was reprimanding a child.

"I know, I know. Soon." Tomura has been promising that y/n would speed things up since he first introduced The League to y/n. It's been just over four months, and so far, he had nothing to show for it.

"In the past four months, we've made fifteen Nomu." Kurogiri glanced over the twenty Nomu in their individual capsules. "Things aren't looking good."

Tomura's eyes met with Kurogiri's. "By the end of this month, she will be ready for all this. I can promise you that."

Y/n's voice rang out from Tomura's pocket. It sounded like she was struggling with something. Every so often, she'd plead with the stupid mask to get off her face. Kurogiri crossed his arms and asked Tomura to turn off the speaker. Tomura reached into his pocket and pressed the little button.

Kurogiri took this moment of privacy to talk about y/n's development. He stressed that she wasn't equipped well enough to be one of them. Kurogiri explained that y/n lacked the mental fortitude, she didn't have any useful skills. Tomura listened, his eyes narrowed. Kurogiri can sense his leader's growing irritation through his silence. The shadowy villain decided it was best to end the conversation with some advice. "She has to learn to trust the rest of us as well. Would you consider leaving her with other members for a short while and allow them to guide her as well?"

"No, absolutely not," Tomura snapped. "She's my project, and I want to work on her myself."

"Miss y/n is doomed to fail if you keep her the way she is," Kurogiri shot back. This time around, he spoke to Tomura much more firmly and with more authority.

"She's done fine so far," Tomura argued back. Kurogiri then reminded Tomura that wasn't true. Y/n had gotten caught by the hero she was trailing, which caused Tomura to intentionally blow his cover to get her out of a bad situation. Tomura growled. He didn't have a counter-argument. "I'll think about it," Tomura reluctantly replied.

Kurogiri opened up a portal for his leader. "I know she's your personal project. However, I'm only saying what you need to hear. We all want to see y/n flourish. She can be an excellent asset to our cause if you would allow her to learn and grow without your guidance."

Tomura vacantly stood and waited for Kurogiri's lecture to finish. He had already decided that he wasn't going to let that happen. Y/n was his own undertaking, and he didn't want anyone to intrude on that.

Kurogiri transported Tomura and himself back home. The shadowy villain walked to the back room and slowly closed the door. Tomura walked away in the opposite direction and began removing the disembodied hands from his body and carefully placed them on the table.

The blue-haired villain looked over to y/n. He sat down next to her and looked down at her. For a moment, he considered Kurogiri's advice before ultimately shooting it down. What kind of mentor would allow their students to learn from someone else? He asked himself. The thought was ridiculous, there was no way he was going to send y/n away. His little seedling was starting to look more and more like a villain each day. Tomura reassured himself that he was making the right decision.

Now that he had settled on a final verdict for y/n, his mind traveled to other concerns. He missed his bed. Before y/n began staying with him, Tomura had always opted to sleep on the couch, but he liked having the option. Now that his options were limited, Tomura felt a little bit of regret.

Tomura removed father from his face and placed it at the top of y/n's book pile. He then laid down on the ground next to y/n. Tomura rested his head on his arm. For the most part, he was comfortable lying down like this. His hands were a problem, though.

Tomura curled his fingers around his thumbs in a closed fist. This brought back memories, he hasn't slept with his hands in this position in years, not since he was a child. He watched y/n's rhythmic breathing as his eyelids grew heavier and heavier.

Y/n's eyes fluttered open. Seeing a black mass on the ground next to her almost made her cry out. Y/n calmed herself down as she told herself that it was most likely Nobuo. The Nomu would sometimes get up from the foot of the bed and move throughout the night. She sat up and looked towards the foot of her bed. Y/n didn't disrupt the Nomu, even though she was sure he wouldn't mind.

She froze when she saw an even bigger mass at the foot of her bed. That has to be Nobuo, she thought to herself before looking back to the figure next to her. But then, what is...

Y/n leaned closer to the figure next to her. She squinted her eyes, trying everything she could do to see in the darkness. Slowly she reached her hand out and lightly touched the figure. She felt a familiar, cold sensation in her hand.

Y/n's heart jumped to her throat as she realized Tomura was laying down next to her. She retracted her hand and sat in silence. Y/n allowed her brain to register that Tomura was technically sleeping next to her, he just wasn't physically in bed with her.

Fearing that Tomura would get sick sleeping on the cold hardwood floor, Y/n took her blanket and threw half of it over Tomura. She scooted closer to the edge of the mattress so she could have the other half of the sheet.

Y/n blinked, staring at the black mass next to her. She gave herself a little bit of time to adjust. She grabbed her hood and pulled it down over her eyes. This is awkward, she thought to herself, finally coming to a conclusion about how she felt about this. Awkwardness aside, it wasn't awful, y/n also felt the same type of comfort when she slept with her little stuffed f/a.
