June the following year

"Hey girl, it's Friday!!! We need to hang out, Nic; it's been entirely too long!" Sydney is yelling on the other end of the phone.

I'm exhausted, but I haven't hung out with Sydney for a while. My days have been so hectic, flying back and forth out west, my client list has grown like crazy from all of the referrals from the Moretti family, and of course, spending time with Devin. However, I feel like I've neglected Syd, so I can't refuse her.

"Yes, Syd, you're right; it has been too long, so I won't deny you of my wonderful presence any longer. Now tell me what's on the agenda for tonight because I know you already have it figured out?"

"Ok...listen, I just want you to dress sexy, and I'll pick you up at 8:30 sharp!"

Cleaning up my desk, I leave the office for the weekend and place a call to Devin on my way home.

I still love hearing his sexy deep voice. "Hey baby, how was your day?"

"It was good, but I'm glad it's the weekend. I know we don't have any specific plans, so I want to hang out with Syd tonight. I've kind of been neglecting her, you know? You ok with that?"

"Of course, Nic. I've got a bike I'm going to finish working on, and then I'll probably just hang at the clubhouse tonight, so I'll see you when you get home later. Be safe...I love you."

"You too, baby...I love you, Devin."

Sydney is at my house at 8:25, so it's a good thing I'm ready.

Jumping in her car, she looks at me and says, "I have to make a quick stop to see Solomon before we head out."

Pulling up to the clubhouse 30 minutes later, she hops out. "You can stay here if you want. I'll be right back."

Damn, she's been in there forever. I finally decide to take the keys out of the car and head inside.

"Syd, girl, you are taking for---- "My words are cut off. The entire clubhouse is dark, except for lights out back by the pool.

"Sydney? Solomon?"

Um...ok...this is giving me a weird vibe. I've never seen the clubhouse dark like this and I'm immediately filled with anxiety, as I walk towards the back.

I step outside, and my eyes land on Devin. He's smiling from ear to ear, looking ever so sexy.

"What are you doing here? What's going on?"

Devin holds out his hand, "Come here, baby."

Looking around, I don't see anyone else. "Where's Sydney? Devin, what's going on?"

My insides are going bananas as I walk over to him.

Devin takes both of my hands, looking into my eyes, he speaks softly. "Nicole, when I first laid my eyes on you, I knew you were different. You immediately had me feeling things I had never felt before. I honestly didn't know what those feelings were, but I knew I liked them, and I knew many months ago that I couldn't let you out of my life. It's because of you, that I know what real love and real support are. You have had such a major impact on my life, and I want to be a better man, a better person, because of you. I feel like I can do anything, just as long as I have you by my side. Baby, it feels so good when I'm with you, and I want us to spend the rest of our lives together, conquering whatever comes our way. I know it won't always be sunshine and roses, but the rough times will be so much easier to deal with if we handle them together. I love you with all that's in me."

He drops down to one knee, pulling a small blue box from his pocket and opens it up. My eyes land on the most beautifully, brilliant, round-cut diamond with a diamond-encrusted band, that I've ever seen. This man is so good at robbing me of my speech. My insides are serving up a large dose of nerves, happiness, and a side of shock! My hands shake, as I bring them up to cover my open mouth and tears are streaming down my cheeks.

Devin looks up at me with more love than I could ever imagine possible. "Nicole, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

Reaching out to rub the side of his face, I am at a loss for words. I'm trying desperately to control my emotions, but I am a blubbering nut right now. I'm sure I no longer look like the sexy vixen that Sydney wanted me to be tonight. Damn you Syd!

My voice is barely above a whisper. "Yes, Devin...absolutely yes!!!"

Jumping up, Devin pulls me into a hug so tight; my feet are no longer on the ground or maybe that's just how I feel...like I'm floating. I can hear him in my ear. "Oh my beautiful girl, you have seriously made me the happiest man on the planet...you have no idea!"

I kiss him with all of the love I feel and say, "I think I have some idea. I love you so much, Devin...I can't wait to be your wife."

He yells and spins me around, laughing, "She said yes!!! Fuck yeah...she said yes!!!"

Fireworks go off in the night sky and we are instantly surrounded by a thunderous applause and loud whistles. People seem to come out of nowhere, but in the midst of them all, is my girl Sydney, who's laughing and crying like a baby. Shaking her head, she looks me straight in my eyes and says, "I told you it would work out!"

And she was right. Syd's always right.

I am grateful for you making it to the end! This was fun for me but scary too because you never know how thoughts in your head, will work out in print. Anyway, I have another Twisted MC story in the works. It's Prez's turn so stay tuned!
