Author's Note/Acknowledgements

OH MY GOSH. IT'S FINISHED. IT'S DONE. I'VE DONE IT!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have done it- we've done it. I never thought I'd reach the end but here it is and now- now it's time to CELEBRATE!

Okay, but in all seriousness, I really need to give some shout-outs to some amazing peeps who have helped me throughout this entire journey (this nearly 3-year endeavor). The peeps I'm about to call out have helped me at varies stages me through this process in different ways and now they're getting the credit they deserve.

First things first, I have to thank EustaciaTan14 for all the feedback she's given me, specifically during The Dark Prince era of my writing. She was one of the first committed readers that I had and she gave me countless critiques (free of charge) and encouraged me with her detailed responses. You are amazing (as is your book).

The second person on this list is ChroniclesofGavin. He's also given me very good feedback and comments regarding my grammar and the material. I also love his commitment through all three main books. His reaction to some of the scenes put a smile on my face (especially the comment in Chapter 15 in Twisted Souls. I don't know, something about that xD)

The third person I'm about to list is a recent newcomer to the series but they have been one of my most consistent (most awesome readers), saving me from embarrassing minor mistakes in my books. That person would be artsynderella. I know I say this for everyone, but her (or him, I don't know your gender) comments gave me life, no lie.

Another individual who has mainly been through all 3 main books is silver-cold. Every time I always thought no one was reading my stories, they came along and showed me that my writing wasn't in vain. I remember, in the beginning, I always used to thank them for every chapter they read until they told me I didn't have to XD

*Le sigh* Last but certainly not least, I can't have this list without saying thanks to UncreativeDork (because she would kill me). Her comments- especially regarding a certain character- always made my day (most of the time). She jumped on the bandwagon a little later on in the game, but she's been a dedicated reader for all 5 books and her comments gave me life.

Sorry if I forgot anyone else, but those were the ones I remembered off the top of my head who made an impact on this journey. Thank you, as well, to those who have judged any of my books for any contests at all and the one book club that helped me in the very beginning. There was one other person (whose comments were the ultimate life givers) but sadly they are not on Wattpad anymore :c

I, of course, must thank each and every reader who has gotten to this point and anyone who has helped me at any point while writing this (and witnessing me bang my head against my tablet).

Moving onto other things...

Now I know no one is probably thinking about where I got the inspiration for this book from but I'm going to tell you anyway (because don't ruin the mood).

Honestly, it came from a flimsy dream

Yeah, generic, I know, but it's true. I was lying in bed and I started thinking about things and BOOM it came. Except...the finished product turned out so very different from my dream. I mean, like, DIFFERENT DIFFERENT. Firstly, the genders were actually reversed and it did not have the ending like it does now and everything was underbaked (truthfully speaking, everything was still in the oven when I started writing it but eh). It wasn't even supposed to be a trilogy (never mind two extra books). Like, I had no idea that was going to turn into this. But that's the fun part about writing- you don't know where it might go. Reminds me of this post I made on this one thread that I'm on (that's hilarious).

I'd be lying if I say I didn't have fun writing this, though. It was a ton of fun. I started off with no characters in mind (just one or two weak traits about them), not even their names, but then I started writing and I ended up with Mallory and Xalale (whose name I couldn't even pronounce in the beginning) then other characters. My plots are always the last to take form and I didn't really expect the whole Aelita thing until later on. It was a fun rollercoaster though.

I'm always open to questions about things, just FYI, but here are some answer to some questions I thought up:

~QUESTION TIME~

1. How'd I come up with the names?

Honestly, I have no idea how I came up with Mallory's name ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Xalale's name I got off a name generator. Edalirwen also came from a generator (because I'm not that creative), but I did come up with Cauldron. The other character's names I just came up with (and I only ever use names once in my whole writing life). Ruthford's name came from a series I read in middle school where the boy's name was actually Rutherford (like the president's) but I only remembered that later on. Franklin Houser came from a different idea that's been stored in my head and he has the same personality.

2. Favorite character?

Argh, that's a hard one >.< My favorite character to write about was Xalale, but he did give me headaches some days. I feel like it would be lame if I just said Mallory since I've written from her POV the most and she's the MC, but so far, I would have to say her. I do like some of the other character's personalities, like Libby's and Clifford's.

3. Favorite book?

The Dark Prince hands down, I'm sorry (not sorry). That was one of my favorite books to write out of this entire series. I don't know what it was but I enjoyed every moment of writing that book. It was so different than what I'm used to. It's a coming to age story with an Anakin Skywalker undertone written from Xalale's POV- what's not to love?

4. Most difficult scene to write?

Any of the fighting scenes or scenes describing powers. If you read any of those scenes then you know what I'm talking about. Yeah, they sucked -_-

5. Favorite scene?

When Xalale admits his love the first time after the dance. Guys, I had an author moment the night I wrote that XD I was so happy, I mean like tears of joy happy (minus the tears). I'd never really experienced a moment like that in the time I've been a writer but it was one of the best feelings- like I was reading as a reader, not a writer.

~QUOTES~

And because I love quotes, we have this

Mallory: "Darling, you lost the moon while counting the stars." - Unknown

Xalale: "We are all a little broken. But last time I checked, broken crayons still color the same." - Trent Shelton

Aelita: "A bitter heart eats its owner." - Bantu Proverb

=====

So that's that, guys. I cannot believe it's been nearly three years since I first started this project (and believe me when I say it's been a project- in the best way). I'm proud of myself since this is the first series I've ever written and completed.

For now, I have another project in mind and I would love you guys' full support. For the meantime, thank you, stay you, and keep on reading ;P
