Sydney's POV

She was sitting on a metal chair beside my bed. I was tied down; my hands, feet, my whole body. Seeing her face made me sick.
"LET ME GO! I DONT WANNA SEE HER! GET HER OUT OF HERE!" I wriggled and kicked everywhere. She had tears in her eyes.
"I wish you can come back home right now.. But you'll be okay here." She sniffed.
"I love you." She stood up and got escorted from my room.
"NO I DONT WANNA COME WITH YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Knock knock.. Wakey-wakey" Luke whispered in my left ear.
I peeled both of my eyes open and saw his face, only a few inches from mine. A small smile nudged the corners of his lips upward. You see.. He could be very childish at times but there was nothing better than to wake up to his beautiful face. I suddenly forgot about my terrible dream.

"Squiddyy.. wake up." He said while brushing a few strands of my hair off my face.

My breathing started to quicken when his fingertips accidentally touched my face. "You didn't have to knock, you're already in my room. And I'm already awake."
"Aw, don't be angry. It's half past six, didn't you hear the birds chirping?" He cooed, putting his chin in the palms of his hands.
"There's no bird," I said with a hoarse voice. "Good morning, Luke." I couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah it's a good morning, but it'd be a great one if you'd brush your teeth right now." He scrunched his face and pinched his nose.
"You're such a jerk!" I slapped his arm off my bed.
"Hey.. How did you even get in here? I thought only doctors and guards have the key." I furrowed my eyebrows. He merely laughed.
"I have my ways, don't worry about it. C'mon breakfast's ready!" He stood up and headed towards the door.

The owner of this hospital was a Christian. So every Sunday morning, 7 a.m, we had breakfast together to rejoice the day.

"Give me like 2 more hours please.." I moaned.

He sighed, walked back towards my bed and picked me up.
"Luke! Put me down! Stop it!" I screamed. But being the stubborn person he was, he didn't listen and instead, he walked into the bathroom with me on his left shoulder.

He put me back on the ground with a little groan escaping his mouth.
"Now shower and I'll wait for you in the cafeteria." He said while stepping out of the bathroom.
"Luke! No! Um I mean.. Can you please wait outside?" I hesitated. "Just in case, uh if something happens..?"
"I'll be right here," He smirked. "Just in case..."
"Stop!" I whined. "I'm serious."
"Okay okay!" He put both of his hands up in surrender and shut the bathroom door.

I started my morning routine by brushing my teeth, then straight to the shower. Since Luke was waiting for me, I kind of fast forwarded the whole process. I dried my hair and body with my towel that was slid down every once week from a tube from the maintenance room on the top floor. All my hygiene needs, like shampoo or soap, were also slid down from that narrow tube and landed on a little wooden table right underneath it. I'm not sure what room it came from or who slid those stuff from there. I mean.. there were A LOT of cells in this place.

I might have never been allowed to walk around the asylum, but I still could remember when I first arrived here. Seeing this old, giant building with dark green vines climbing its stone walls, the rusty metal sign saying "Bethlem Psychiatric Hospital", and all the cells I had to pass to get to my own. I didn't exactly remember the people's faces in the cells. My eyes were full of tears because I was scared to death knowing that I'd live with them, but I bet they were also struggling to survive in their own individual cells.

Well, ater staying here for a little while, - and meeting Luke - I realized that it wasn't that bad after all. But with Christina being around us, it made everything a lot harder than it actually was. She had been my only life resistance. The doctors were positive that I could heal though, and she would get out of my head. But for me, it was not easy.

Finally, I went out from the bathroom and was greeted by Luke's adorable smile.
"You're not gonna brush your hair?" He said raising an eyebrow.
"You know I never did, now stop teasing me. I can always use my fingers to make it look decent." I stuck my tongue out.
"Of course you never did. Now c'mon, let's gooo!" He announced, dragging the 'o'.

Once we'd arrived in the cafeteria, we started lining up to receive our food in the food-serving counter. "Good morning." The long-curly-haired lady behind the counter smiled and gave us two trays as we walked along the line.
"They're serving mac n' cheese today, your favorite!" Luke said, putting his arm on my left shoulder. I was pretty sure that one of my shoulder was melting. Yes, he was THAT hot. I was a bit sad because I could never ever had the chance to be with him. I just thought that we were already like siblings and there was no way that I could break that bond.

"Blair!" A lady wearing a hair net half-yelled at me, cutting off my thoughts. "Taco or mac n' cheese?"
"Mac n' cheese," I said flatly.
"Here you go. Enjoy." She replied in a monotone.

Luke and I walked towards the organized tables and headed to the one that we'd always occupied. The tables and stools were planted in the cement, so nobody could really mess them up or anything (because that was what "people like me" tend to do).

"Where's your tray?" I questioned Luke.
"I'm not hungry." He replied.
"How come you're never hungry? You're the guy here. You're supposed to be the one with a big food storage tank." I smiled at him.
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine. Now let's just talk about your progress." He said seriously.
"Okay.. I'm gonna have my therapy with Doctor Alex on Tuesday," I said while playing with my mac n' cheese. "Having sessions with him enervates me."
"It's okay. At least you're getting better. Did you sleep well last night?"
"Um.. The dream keeps on bugging me." I took a bite of my macaroni. I had these almost identical dreams of my mom visiting me almost every night.
"What did she do this time?"
"Oh y'know, she just visited me and said that she loved me.. and that she wished that I could come back to her house." I glanced at Luke. I wasn't sure why, but Luke was always pissed when we talked about my mom. So I had to be extra careful when I talk about her to him.
"Bullshit." He spat.
"It's okay, Luke. It was just a dream," I tried to calm him down. Surprisingly, it worked. "And Christina hasn't been bothering me over these past few days."
"That's great!" He suddenly looked happy. That was what I worried about. Luke could be a little bit unstable sometimes and that scared me too because I cared about him and I didn't want him to feel anything in a negative way.
"Yeah, I guess the therapies are actually pretty effective. But she comes and go, so we'll never know." I sighed.
"Hey.. look at me," Luke lifted my chin up with his finger, his eyes full of concern. "You're going to be okay. She's not going to bother you again."
"We don't know that, Luke. I don't wanna talk about this anymore." I looked away.

Finally, we ended up talking about other things like our childhood memories. Luke was the only child in his so-called "family". His mom left when he was 6, saying that she couldn't stand Andrew's attitude towards her. She was no different, actually. She was also a horrible person who didn't want to be responsible for her own child.

He told me a story of when he was 8 and saw a woman, whom his dad took home from a club, rummaging the fridge, which at first, Luke thought, was a burglar trying to steal his milk. So he went into his room, grabbed his wooden baseball bat and hit her right behind her head. She ended up passing out on the kitchen floor. We laughed and then talked about my experience with my first pet. It was a beetle which was found in my backyard. I didn't know why, but I loved it so much that I'd always wanted to play with it everyday. One day, we were playing around on the pavement. I thought that it'd be a perfect day to go outside the house and play "tag" - don't even ask me why I'd play tag with an insect - but because it was a tiny creature, I accidentally stepped on it and cried for the rest of the day. We laughed so loud that some people actually stared at us in annoyance, but we didn't care; we were lost in our own world.

Right after I finished my food, the bell suddenly rang, indicating that the breakfast was over. We got escorted from the cafeteria back into our cells. The exit got very crowded. We were like drowning in the wave of crowd. When I looked over my shoulder, Luke was gone. I stood there and waited for him in the middle of this chaos until there was nobody in the room except for the other volunteers (guards). Before I could even call his name, they pushed me out of the exit door and put me back in my room.

I stood there and wondered where Luke had went. As I walked towards my bed, someone knocked on my door. I turned around and saw Luke's blue eyes peeking through the small rectangular space on the door, where the guards/doctors usually peek through to see how or what the patients were doing.

"I thought something happened to you!" I said worriedly.
"Yeah sorry, my dad kinda dragged me with him and told me to do something," He breathed heavily - it seemed like he ran on his way to get to my room. "I just wanna say 'bye' because I have to go early today. I've got some things to do. So.. Bye." He said quickly and winked in the end. He ran again. He didn't even let me reply.

I tried to ignore his wink because this was getting pretty serious. This had happened for more than five times now, he had been acting pretty strangely too. His dad wouldn't come here if Luke was here, so something was defiantly up and I had to find out what was going on with him. I had to find out what he's been actually doing.
