Chapter 31

Sexual tension chapter. Swear count: 10

Hero gaped at this man. No, not because his voice was velvety and husky. Because he had the audacity to give him such a nickname. He had dealt with Derrek's 'doll', 'puppet', 'pet' and the recent 'Herobrine'.

But he can't help but wonder why he welcomed the nickname more than he accepted the others. His attention was brought to his legs when another wave of extreme pain engulfed him. Rain was starting to drench the other man-spider hybrid thing as well. He raised his head and scowled as the man crouched down, hands nearing the bear trap. He immediately swatted him away, snarling,  "Do you really think I can't kill you like this? Stay. Back."

He had no idea what he was saying. He was just furious, frustrated and absolutely fucked. The 3 glorious 'F's. He couldn't think straight, because of his rampant motions and the man in front of him. The man had raised his hands up in surrender, and he looked a little irritated. He was about to retort, but Hero watched his eyes grow wide before they softened. His hands went to slide through his wet black hair before he gently said, "Oh, how could I forget. You haven't met me. Well, you did, it's just not personally like this and I didn't want our first meeting to be like this. I'm so sorry-"

"Cut the shit."

"What?"

Hero stared him straight in the eye and panted heavily. He just choked out, "You're rambling. Just say it quick because I'm bleeding out over here!"

The man's eyes widened and he glanced at Hero's wounds. He winced and Hero heard a soft hiss. The man looked back up at him and said slowly, "It's me. It's Noah."

Hero looked at him pointedly. Noah sighed.

"Arachass? Catch that nickname, Princess?"

Immediately, Hero's mind supplied him with memories from his teenage years. Writing his findings in a book, meeting a fucking mermaid, and starting a conversation with a mysterious person via research books- Oh. Hero stared wide-eyed at the man as he started to process things. His uninjured hand went to his mouth as he gasped. He whispered behind his hand, "No fucking way."

Noah purred, "Sorry, but... Yes fucking way as how you put it."

Hero's bleeding out and severely injured leg seemed to disappear as he had to suppress a shiver at that tone. Hot.

Noah went from absolutely-would-smash to serious as he gently placed his fingers on the bear trap, avoiding the open wound. He started speaking, "Alright, Princess, as much as I'd love to catch up with your pretty face, we need to get your fixed up. And quick."

Noah's nail scraped a bit of flesh and Hero hissed. Noah mumbled an apology after staring at him at the odd animalistic sound he gave out. He narrowed his eyes at the wound and poised his hands over the trap. He quickly looked around and picked up a thick stick. He handed it to Hero, who stared at it with fury, hoping for it to burst into flames. It almost did until the spider interrupted, "This will hurt a lot. Just bite down on this stick and I'll be as fast as I can, I promise."

Hero whimpered but lodged the stick in his mouth, his two settled but not breaching the bark. Once Noah pulled the bear trap off and shoved Hero's foot out of the way, they sank deep. Hero screamed and with one last bite, the stick broke and he spat everything out before bristles could get caught on his tongue. Noah stared at him in shock before moving his attention to Hero's now bleeding profusely foot.

He snarled and started to raise the end of his shirt. Hero stopped breathing heavily and choked on his saliva when he saw what treasures lie beneath. Oh fuck, Kaleb was good-looking alright, but this spider was a godsend. He watched Noah tear into his clothes with his own fangs, ripping a purple strip of cloth. He gently lifted Hero's leg by the knee and settled it on his lap. The ex-general howled as Noah started to tightly wrap the makeshift bandaged around his mangled foot.

Once he was done, Noah crouched with half of his shirt gone and Hero lying with one stabilized leg. The other burned with the bullet still inside, but Hero found himself used to bullet wounds. He was a general after all. Finding his strength again, Hero took part of his trousers and tore the ends, also making a makeshift bandaged to keep the bullet wound's bleeding at bay. As Hero expertly attended to his second wound, Noah stared at him for a second. His eyes raked over his wet golden locks, and at the two pearls glowing fiercely behind the stray strands. It was... Different from when he last saw him, but he still loved his eyes. A part of him missed the mysterious blue.

As Hero worked, Noah saw the puncture marks on his wrist. His protective instincts flaring, he shot out to inspect the wounds. Hero hissed, tearing his hand away. The spider just frowned, his eyes never leaving the wound, "Did a vampire do that?"

Hero gaped, "No! I bit down on it. And what are you talking about-"

Noah jerked around and pressed his hand to Hero's mouth, silencing his demands. Hero flushed under the contact, but follow Noah's gaze into the forest. His slight night vision allowed him to see a group of soldiers moving in the distance, clearly trying to find him. Noah turned back, obstructing his view (even if he was a pretty good view, mmph) and whispered, "We're got to go quick. Preferably get under some shelter far away from your walls."

Hero found himself nodding and held in a gasp when Noah hoisted him up bridle-style. His arms wound around the spider's neck and his injured and slightly bleeding legs swung over Noah's grip under his knees. The spider made sure he was alright before telling him to hold on tight. Hero gladly submitted, and both enjoyed the close contact.

Holy shit, was speed a thing for spiders? Because Noah was fast as fuck.

Hero clung to Noah and buried his nose in the spider's neck, shielding his face from the wind and rain. His fists clenched around the spider's shirt, and he shut his eyes tight, as small waves of pain started to flood through his body again. Noah had held him tighter when he actually groaned. Hero's eyelids began to grow a little heavy. He murmured his state of exhaustion to Noah, who purred deep in his throat, thinking.

Hero loved the rumbling throat against his forehead. He was interrupted by a panting Noah, who urged him to sleep, as they would be switching from walking to running for a while. Hero protested as he felt bad that he would affect Noah's energy, but the spider reminded him that his species were nocturnal.

"I don't usually sleep, but... Okay."

Noah was about to ask what that meant but found his friend fast asleep against his neck. He hissed low in his breath in content, and found the ex-general shifting closer at the sound.

Hero woke up to warmth. The next thing he realized was how peaceful his sleep was. He normally avoided sleeping due to the constant nightmares, but Hero slept like a baby. He groaned and tried to shift his position, but a surge of pain shot up his legs and he yelped. The warm chest he was resting against jerked and he found a sleepy Noah carefully inspecting the wounds on his legs again. He stared at the man for a while before he groggily spoke, "It's Hero."

Noah looked up at him in exhaustion, "Didn't catch that, Princess. It's way too early."

Hero looked outside, they appear to be in a cave of some sort. A den? There were leaves on the stone cold floor as some sort of bedding. He poked his head out the entrance and found the sun in the middle of the sky. He turned back to Noah, "It's already afternoon. And my name is Hero."

Noah was about to make some comment about being nocturnal, but brightened up at the second part. He turned to Hero with a sleepy grin. "Really?"

Hero nodded. The spider cocked his head, "What's your real name?"

The ex-general stiffened and Noah was about to apologize. Hero cut him off, "It's in the back of my head, somewhere. Long forgotten, probably. Hero was a nickname my little brother gave me when I was way young. Stuck with me."

Noah nodded silently. The two just stared at the ground awkwardly before the spider asked, "Then what was the P for? You always ended your messages with a P."

Hero leaned back, staring at the bloodstained bandages on his legs. He replied, "Persson. It's my last name. Where are we?"

Noah hissed and looked outside, glaring at the sun. He came back to the shelter and tiredly replied, "We passed the very end of your walls. The edge of the forest is quite nearby and after that we'll be at a meadow."

Hero raised a brow, "Which walls? The one surrounding the castle or the entire palace?"

Noah stared at him strangely, "That's what you call the area? A palace? Hm, then yeah, I guess."

"You don't know what a palace is?"

The spider shrugged, "I've spent most of my life living as a spider, not a human interacting with other humans. I'm more fluent in hiss speak with spiders, creepers and silverfish rather than English."

Hero stared at him up and down, "I was about to ask you how... Are you half spider and all that?"

Noah laughed softly, "I should be asking you what happened to your eyes. I may not be very experienced interacting with your kind but I do know no normal human would have those eyes. And, can we wait to sunset? I'm nocturnal, Princess, I can't function well in the day."

Hero apologized softly, and Noah just nodded off once again. He snored a little, but it sounded more like a growl at the back of his throat. The spider slept right next to Hero, and at one point he wrapped his arm around the ex-general's thighs and mumbled against his hip. Hero just tried to stay still. He looked down at his palm, and found two small scars in the place of the bite wounds. At least that was healed. He also took the time to brush off leaves and clean up. He was muddy and all sorts of flora had stuck to his wet skin after the storm.

Once he was satisfied after all the cleaning charms, he leaned back and watched the outside, trying to catch any animals or insects fluttering by. Slowly growing bored, he raised his fingers, focusing quietly. He grinned when a spark began, followed by a pop and a dark brown ball floating in his hands. In three seconds, the ball was in flames, hovering in his hands. He rolled in around his fingers and played with it, changing the sizes and heat. His hands seemed to be able to take the heat, and he finally allowed it to rest in his palm. Out of curiosity, he threw it against the wall.

It had bounced back to him and he caught it. Hero looked down at the heavily asleep Noah, and to the raging sun outside. He sighed. Casting a few cooling charms to be safe, Hero distracted himself with the ball.

Hero was playing with the element of wind, blowing various leaves to the cave when the sky grew dark. The sun had begun to set and Noah stretched on his lap. The wind had picked up and blew against the spider's face, making him sneeze. He rubbed his nose and opened his eyes, "Why is it so cold? Is it going to rain again? Fuck's sake."

Hero laughed and stilled his hand movements, the wind settling to a gentle breeze. Noah perked up. "What did you do?"

The ex-general shrugged, "I learnt I could bend elements to my will. That and many other things my kind will never deem 'natural'."

Noah got up and rubbed his eyes. The horizon could be seen from outside the cave. He frowned, "It's early. And what exactly are you? Your fangs are not enough to identify your species."

Noah got up and crawled outside, dropping to a crouch as he scanned the perimeter. Hero tried to get up, but his legs were being little bitches so he just dragged himself to the entrance. Noah noticed and apologetically helped him on his feet. Hero thanked him but held on tight, he could not put the bear-trapped foot down flat on the ground. He would have to limb awkwardly on the other leg, but the bullet imbedded above his knee would make it a little painful. He groaned as he reluctantly leaned his weight on the spider.

He spoke, "I have no idea. Let's discuss that later. Where exactly are we headed? I know it's definitely not towards the palace and we're still inside the North but where are we going?"

Noah gripped his waist as Hero tried to balance himself. He smiled proudly and declared, "We're going home. To my home, that is. We'll be going to my clan's territory, down in the South."

Hero stilled and yelled, "That's way too far away!  We would have to cross the central and it's heavily guarded. It would take us weeks to even get to the Central-North border walls."

Noah shrugged, "I've traveled all the way from the South to here alone and I made it. Also, I'm half-spider. Speed is one of my assets." He preened under the self-praise.

Hero scoffed and retorted, "So what, you're going to carry me there the entire way? I'm injured for fuck's sake."

He gestured wildly to his legs. Noah just politely grinned and said, "I mean, if you have a better idea, I'm all ears."

Hero grumbled under his breath. He was a little ticked, usually he was obeyed but... He guessed it was in the past then, he's no longer a general. Thinking about it, Hero wonders how Markus and Jeb are doing. He wonders how Jeb takes his crimes, how Markus deals with his escape and how the army deals with his absence. It was no doubt the country would be on the lookout for him. He needed to be cautious. And that's when an idea sprang into his mind.

He smirked and gripped Noah's shoulder tightly. The spider winced and was about to complain about how strong he was before Hero cut him off, "Oh, trust me, I know how to go to the Central in a matter of seconds. I'm fully charged up now but if we appear there you might need to deal with me being more exhausted again. Drains a lot for a huge distance like this."

Noah stared at him and was about to protest. Hero had grabbed both of Noah's shoulders and brought him in close. His head on the man's chest- curse tall people -he focused hard and teleported them in a blue cloud of dust.

Noah fell to the ground and gasped. He felt dizzy and he thought that something was trying to tear his lungs out his chest by that pull. He turned desperately to find his friend and saw Hero leaning against a crate of some sorts, panting. He was trembling due to the weak support of his legs, and Noah managed to still him before he collapsed. Hero sighed blissfully and shut his eyes. "I'm never doing that again," he muttered.

Noah gulped and looked around. From his little knowledge of human basics, they appeared to be in a back alley, as in front of them was a building. There was a back door and several dumpsters along the dark alley. The two-storey building seemed to bustling as cheers and happy thrills were heard from the inside. Noah hissed at the loud noises. He rested Hero on top of some clean crates full of alcohol and peered around a corner that led to some light.

He gasped as he was met with a bustling crowd of Minecraftians, walking different directions and chattering wildly. It was thunderous and painful to Noah's sensitive spider ears, but he strained to observe. There were a lot of females dressed in skimpy outfits, either walking in a group or with their arms around a buff man. Males lingered along the various shops and clubs, drinking, singing and whistling at attractive people who sauntered by. Noah sighed, he would have to stay a human a little longer. He needed something to hide his face though, as his eyes would be suspicious.

He turned when he felt a tentative tap on his shoulder. Hero had managed to stumble to him and joined him in watching the crowd. He sighed, "Well shit, it's Happy Hour in Whiskey City. Out of all the places I could have teleported to we ended up here. It's an extremely busy area and considered a Red Light District, but we should be fine."

Noah eyed him oddly, "What do you mean, 'Red Light District'?"

Hero rubbed his eyes tiredly before straightening up and forcing himself to stay alert. He replied calmly, "People are drunk, Noah. They get touchy when they are drunk. We send a lot of soldiers to patrol here in case someone tries to sexually assault someone. No cases so far, but we came close. Another thing is how do we get through this crowd. I can't teleport us for any longer, I'm deprived of energy."

Noah shrugged, "Do any of your 'powers' help us out then?"

Hero squinted hard at the blinding light from the crowd, and retreated back to the dark alley. He pulled Noah to his side and said, "I can use Illusion charms to cover your eyes and change my appearance. I might also need to get some clothes to blend in. Whiskey City is way big, we won't make it without the charms dropping, so we can just go to some random boutique hotel."

"A what? And Illusion charms? How will you get those clothes?"

Noah looked very much confused, and Hero sighed. He looked down at his hands, focusing hard on summoning something from the castle. He answered Noah's questions, "Boutique hotels are small places whee you can rent a room for a few nights. Magic is one of my powers as well. And here-"

With a blue flash, a few clothes had appeared on Hero's hands. Noah just stared wide eyed as the ex-general just looked at them. He tossed a few to Noah, and limped behind a few crates, but the spider could still see him. Hero poked his head out and frowned, "Turn around, you dirty old man."

Noah laughed and turned, looking down at the clothes Hero had got for him. Or did he steal it? The spider just ignored his own question. It was purple, that's nice, his favorite color, and was clean. Quite soft with good quality too. Taking off his upper wear, he could have sworn to hear Hero gasp or something. He did not turn around though, consent is key. (Yes, Hero saw him half-naked and was satisfied.)

Noah had to change into another pair of tight-fitting pants, and quickly did so. He felt exposed in his boxers, even if he was basically naked in spider form. Hero had tossed some new shoes at him, black ones, and he pulled them on as well. He felt comfy and clean. He turned when he heard footsteps approaching and wanted to fucking scream.

Hero was constantly pulling on his shirt, which was a dark blue long sleeve. His collar bones were exposed though, and Noah had war flashbacks to his teenage years of pulling on his dick. He stared down, and found black extremely tight pants that hugged the man's legs perfectly. He wore plain brown boots, but Noah was a little puzzled. "Your wounds? How are they?"

Hero looked down at his legs and lifted one foot slowly. "The bandages are underneath. Proper ones. I used a bit of magic to pull out the bullet, has been a nuisance." Noah gaped. "My foot hurts like a bitch, but it's healing just a bit, and really slowly."

"How did I not hear you get the bullet out?"

Hero smiled, "Shield Bubble. I just found out I could make one just now. I had my pants off to properly take the bullet out and if I screamed you would probably come check on me. I don't want you seeing me in my boxers, thank you very much."

Noah pouted and stared Hero up and down, "Well, considering how tight your pants are, I think I can already picture it perfectly."

Hero flushed and huffed. He turned, and Noah gawked at the sight, and got something resting on the crates. They were cloaks. Both were a plain black. He tossed one to Noah, and the spider frowned when Hero put it on, covering all the good bits from Noah. The spider, after a few seconds of figuring out where-goes-where, he put on his own cloak. He turned to Hero, who was waving his fingers awkwardly towards his face.

Light blue swirls enveloping the soldier's body, before disappearing and leaving a different man in its wake. Noah gawked, even if Hero looked different, he could look good in anything. Hero's height was made to be a little taller, but never reaching Noah's level. His eyes had returned to blue, but darker than he previous ones. More like a Yale blue than the previous sky blue. His hair had went from golden-brown to a much darker and almost black shade. It was more straighter rather than wavy and was more neat. Light freckles had dotted his cheeks as well.

Despite being super attractive, Noah asked, "Why can't you change only your eye color?"

Hero winced and replied softly, "I'm a wanted man. Anyone would notice me in a heartbeat and I would be executed. Again."

Noah's eyes widened, "What did you do?"

Hero figured he did not have to lie. If he continued, he would just cause much more trouble in the future. "Kill. A lot."

The spider just looked at him strangely, before nodding. He crept up to the corner, looking back at the crowd. Hero was frankly surprised. "Aren't you going to be mad or scared or something?"

Noah did not turn. "Why should I be?"

The soldier looked away. He muttered under his breath, "Everyone else is. They feel like I've betrayed them." He voice dropped lower. "Maybe I did."

Noah turned and grabbed Hero's head by both his hands. The soldier looked shocked as no one had ever handled him in such a way. The spider just leaned in close and said harshly, "In my species, we have to kill in order to survive. I've killed innocents as well, and not one in my clan has ever felt betrayed. If anyone feels that way towards you, they are not worth shit."

He let go. "Humans are selfish and arrogant flybrains, and I'm not okay with you or I sharing the same blood with them."

Hero burst out laughing, and Noah just stared, both offended and shocked. Hero looked up at him after his outburst and just muttered, "F-Flybrain? Is that some spider insult?"

Noah flushed and huffed. "I-It is! We eat insects, like flies and if you're called a flybrain, it's because your brain is just as dumb and blur as a fly where you can get tangled in your own cobweb." He crossed his arms and looked away.

Hero just grinned and pulled on Noah's arm. The spider relented and looked at him, still red. Hero started chanting the illusion charm on Noah, and in a matter of seconds, the spider's black and red eyes turned into a simple and bright red. Flecks of gold dotted the fake eyes and Hero quite liked his work. (And the man he tested it under.) Hero went in to lean on Noah for support and together they walked down the alley and into the crowd. Hero had summoned quite a lot of money from the castle to appear in his pocket. Maybe he could get a drink or two for him and Noah.
