Trigger Warning: very brief mentions of rape
_______________
It's been a little over a month since the Cullens moved back to Forks Washington. Alice, Jasper and Edward were re-enrolled at Fork High School for the remainder of the school year. Katherine made haste to occupying herself with school work and her job at the diner to avoid any or all interactions with them. She even went as far as packing a lunch to sit alone in the library.
Rosalie and the events at the ballet studio still haunted her in her dreams. She hasn't seen Rosalie since the night the Cullens voted on Bella's mortality. Katherine couldn't believe how quickly Bella fell back in with Edward. Ever since shes been back from Italy she wasn't allowed to see Edward, she was grounded until further notice. Though she knew that never stopped her sister from seeing him. Sometimes at night she hears them talking in her room.
Charlie has been sleeping on the couch lately assuming to make sure Bella doesn't sneak out but with a vampire boyfriend that was never an issue. Katherine never saw her father so upset in her life when Bella came back, even though he kept himself together well enough for the most part.
Though it can be said for certain that Charlie hated Edward and Katherine found it hilarious.
It hasn't been easy all together. Alice has been keeping her distance at school but however she knew the pixie haired girl was getting antsy with not speaking to her. Katherine sometimes catches her staring from a distance. It made her uncomfortable.
Katherine was conflicted on how to feel but the overwhelming sense of betrayal still lingered in her mind no matter how hard she tried pushing it down. Remembering to the months after they left, it felt like she was reliving the pain and loneliness all over again. The only positive was befriending Leah. She disappeared after her fathers death and reappeared a month later and ever since they became better friends.
Katherine knew what Leah was and took it as well as could be expected. After learning more about the wolves history Katherine wondered what other supernatural beings could be out there. Leah made Katherine promise to never speak to anyone about what she had learned, especially to her sister. Understanding the position Leah was in, Katherine agreed.

Katherine was sitting in the Clearwater's living room, her school stuff sprawled out on the sofa. Finals week was coming up and she was a little worried. After her slip at the beginning of the school year Katherine fought tooth and nail to raise back up her gpa. She's had a mixture of A's and B's this school year. She mentally kicked herself because she hasn't had a B since sophomore year. She has always been a smart girl but never lived up to her potential until enrolling in colleges, she felt she still had a 50/50 chance seeing as she had no extra curriculars on her transcript.
Leah came back from the kitchen with snacks and a drink. Katherine smiled and thanked her as she was handed a bowl of potato chips and a cola. Leah sat down in her father's old leather recliner, she sunk back into it as she remembered all the footballs games that played on the small box tv and he would sit there drinking a beer with Charlie or Billy on occasion. Now he was gone and so was the old Leah. She struggled after her father's death feeling a sense of self loathing and hatred for herself and despising the fact that she has to be around Sam and Emily again. She's constantly thinking about it which causes tension in the pack.
If it were up to her she wouldn't be a part of any pack. Seth joined not long after leaving her away from everyone as she helped him, so she felt as if she had no choice. She wouldn't abandon her little brother no matter how much of a pain he could be at times. She looked over at Katherine her eyes squinting over her papers. She looked frustrated and exhausted. Leah has always kept her eyes out for Katherine ever since she first imprinted on her. She was made aware of the vampire threat of Victoria but she disappeared around the times the Cullens came back, briefly.
Katherine said very little about the Cullen's return only that she was still upset with them but Leah knew it was more than that and that it involved her ex-girlfriend Rosalie.
That was something they bonded on was their past heartbreak. They were two slightly broken people struggling with their inner emotions. Leah knew Katherine was keeping something from her but she wasn't going to press on it, she can tell by the bags under her eyes that she's had enough. The rings in contrast to her pale skin made it look like she got into a fight.
It was true as Katherine stared at the pages in front of her blankly not processing any of it. She felt her eyes drooping down for a moment before pinching herself to keep herself awake. Leah was watching tv there to help if she needed it. Katherine appreciated Leah's company. She was always alone at home and she couldn't be left alone. That's when everything starts to catch up with her and she couldn't have that. She became rather good at repressing those burdensome feelings. She was breaking on the inside but she always put on a smile to those around her.
And Leah was there whenever she needed her, it was great. But once she was home and laying in her room for bed everything would hit her at once the rape, the assault, Rosalie, vampires, werewolves, then come the feelings of loneliness, Bella was hardly around so she didn't know who to confide in. She didn't tell Leah so much due to her hatred for vampires and the Cullens in general, just enough that Leah understands what she's going through.
She was itching for a cigarette but repressed the urge to go out. Going back over the notes she took her time to concentrate.

The drive home was quiet with only the radio playing on low. The news was on, reporting a missing persons Riley Biers who disappeared a year ago. It was a sad situation but nothing usually comes to those kinds of cases after so long. It was a sad reality.
She just entered Forks when lights flashed on her dashboard and a noise erupted from her engine.
"Are you freaking kidding me!" She huffed, turning on her caution lights and pulling over. She hit the steering wheel before slumping back. It was just after dusk and was unable to get ahold of her dad or Bella so she called a friend of her fathers who had a tow company to come pick up the jeep as she walked into town. She knew her way so the walk wouldn't be too bad.
A few cars passed her on the way, one in particular pulled up besides her stopping. She glanced over and felt herself choke on the air she was breathing.
"What the hell do you want?" She snapped with an aggression that she didn't know she had.
"Come on Katy don't you miss me?"
"Why are you here Dylan?"
