BISHOP

I was in front of her before I even realized that my body had moved. Kane, my wolf, was shouting Mate over and over again.
"What happened to her?!" I shouted at Thomas. The smell of blood, her blood, dripping onto the hard-packed dirt floor into puddles, was filling my nostrils. Red filled my vision. Thomas backed away with his hands up. He knew. "I did not do anything that I do not usually do Alpha!"

Before I could stop him Kane rose up and took control. I watched as my own arm reached out and yanked up Thomas by the front of his black t-shirt. My left hand fisted, I broke his nose. Bone crunched and blood pour and Thomas howled. The sound of flesh hitting flesh echoed in an eerie way. A whimper from behind me had me stopping. I whipped my head around and dropped Thomas to the ground at the same time. I rushed to my fragile-looking mate and uncuffed her. The silver cuffs pulling off pieces of her sensitive skin. I expected her to wimper but not a sound left her.

I caught her as she feel forward. Scooping her up and close to me. Her body tensed slighty and I could smell her fear. Her clear, blue eyes searched my face, for what I do not know.

"I'm not going to hurt you little mate." My voice soft and low.

CHARLIE

The sickening sound of crunching bone and skin hitting skin snapped me awake. The man that had locked me up and broken my bones was currently having the favor returned to him. The man doling out said punishment was a very handsome man with jet black hair. He was tall and muscular. His arms bulging as he repeatedly hit the man.

A whimper escaped my lips before I could hold it back. Just because I wanted a little revenge did not mean that I enjoyed this in any way. I just wanted it to stop. I looked down at the ground. The cell grew quiet quickly and I heard a thud. Suddenly, my wrists were uncuffed, burning as it pulled off bits of my skin. But not as painful as it could have been. My weak body was swiftly lifted and brought against a warm body. The scent of rain and the forest filled my nose. I tensed and I could not help the tiny bubble of fear that rose in my throat. I looked up into the face of the man that held me.

His black hair was wavey and reached to his shoulders. His high cheekbones and brozed skin gave testiment to his Native American genes. When I looking into his deep, dark brown eyes I could only see the concern and anxitey. I relaxed a little. He was not going to hurt me. At least not on purpose.

He is our Mate Charlotte! Lyra says. My heart sputters a little. Lyra had told me about Mates. SoulMates. Halfs of each other.
Will he keep us then Lyra? I am more than a little scared. Some where in the back of my mind I kind of always thought that maybe my Mate would not really want me.
He is the other half of us. We complete him. He will never leave us Charlie. Lyra soothes me. Now get to know our Mate while I heal the damage.

As Lyra pulled away from me I felt me bones start to move. My Mate looked at my forehead as the heads of sweat formed there and on my upper lip. Healing is just as painful as the injury. Lyra and I had done this so many times that I healed very quickly. All the scientist in thier white lab coats loved to break bones in my body to watch how fast my body healed.

"Are you alright?" My mates voice was full of concern. His dark brows pulled together. Without thinking I reached up and smoothed his forehead.

"I am fine. Lyra will make me good as new." I wanted him to be reassurred. I watched the slight shock come to his face as the bones in my face knitted together. The bruising fading then disappearing all together. Six or seven mintues was all it took.

BISHOP

I could not believe the rate at which she had just healed herself. It was truly astonising. Werewolves could heal themselves very rapidly. But not in the amount of time that she and her wolf had just completed the task. Truly astonishing. My Mate was so amazing! Kane pranced around in my head. OUR Mate. He corrected me.

Thomas moaned from the floor snapping me back to reality. My Mate needed to be out of this cave. She let me carry her to the entrance.

"Wait." She said suddenly. I stopped and looked into her eyes. I could get lost in those eyes. The lightest blue that I had ever seen. " Can I walk from here? Please?" I did not really want to relinquish my hold on her but in the end I let her legs slid down my arm. She was too thin. I was going to fix that.

A light rain had begun to fall. She walked to the entrance and slowly extended her hand. I almost pulled her back until a small laugh erupted from her. She turned and looked at me with her eyes full of wonder and excitement. I have to admit that while it made her look beautiful, it was just rain after all. Then I had my mind blown by her next words. "I have never actually felt the rain before." She almost whispered the statement, as if she was hesitant to admit it to me. I could not help the surprise that spread across my features. How can she not have felt rain before?! Kane is just as shocked as I am. She suddenly steps out into the gentle downpour. She held her arms out, her eyes closed, with her head tilted to the sky. Stepping out into the light I noticed something that I should have seen immediatly but had been to worried and then shocked to notice. The scars.
