P.O.V. [Name]

I sighed as I looked at Leone, it looked as if she had been bruised and beaten however I know that it was all just part of Esdeaths plan. "So are you feeling?" I asked as I looked at the blonde in front of me. 

"I'd be doing better if I didn't have all this crap on my face," She said as she looked at me. I chuckled slightly hearing this and I brought her into a hug. "If you want to stay back while we do the fighting, we'll understand," I said with a smile as we separated. 

She smiled hearing this and nodded, however she then leaned forward and kissed my cheek. "You're so understanding," she said as she looked me. I smiled hearing this and I pressed my forehead to hers while I began to hold her hands. "I love you," I said with a smile.

"I love you too," Leone said with a smile. We stayed like this for a few moments before I sighed and looked at her. "Just do me a favor and don't get yourself hurt," Leone said as she looked at me. I smiled hearing this and nodded.

"Of course not," I said as I cupped her cheek. "Just do me a favor and try to do the same okay," I said as I looked at her. Leone smiled and nodded with a smile. I sighed hearing this and held up the pair of cuffs that were supposed to break. "Ready?" I asked as I looked at the female.

Leone nodded and held up her hands. I then began to place the cuffs on her and she smiled. "You know, if we weren't about to go on a mission. I'd think that this was kind of kinky," Leone said in a joking voice. I chuckled slightly hearing this and looked at her.

"Maybe when we get home, we can turn that fantasy into a reality," I said as I looked at her. This time she was the one the chuckled and we slowly began to walk out of the room. When we did we saw the others looking at us.

"Are you ready?" Esdeath asked as she looked at us. We both nodded when she asked this and she turned and began to walk down the streets. We began to follow her as she continued to walk down the streets. When we exited the city I tried to relax but I think that it was fairly obvious that I was on edge.

Out of paranoia I began to use my imperial arm just in case someone did manage to catch us off guard. After all they're an organization of assassin's, there has to be a reason they managed to stay hidden as long as they have. Then the fact that they had Leone in their ranks at one point shows that they clearly had capable fighters.

I then felt something passed through my head and heard something hit the ground next to me. I then turned and saw that there was a portion of the ground that was missing clearly caused by a projectile of some kind. I then once again felt something passed through my head and this time I saw the projectile hit the ground leaving behind another small crater.

"We're under attack!" I yelled as I pulled Leone's chain and jumped back, whispering "sorry" as I did. When I did two male's jumped down in front of us one of them had short brown hair and green eyes. I couldn't see what the other was wearing do to the armor that he was wearing. The male wearing armor then began to run towards me with his spear. 

I grabbed my twin swords when he did and began to run towards him. I swung at him and he repeated my action knocking one of my blades out of my hands. The male then continued to attack and I saw his spear heading towards my neck. I once again began to use my imperial arm when he did and let the spear phase through my neck. 

He seemed shocked hearing this and I smiled as I once again swung at him. When I did he stopped the attack and I continued my assault being a bit more reckless than I would usually be in this situation. As long as I was carefully I could easily avoid any damage by activating my imperial arm. 

I took any and all hits that I was able to land on the male. They weren't much but a few scratched were better than nothing. I watched as the male fell back a bit flustered by my attack. I smiled seeing this and once again rushed towards him ready to attack. When I reached him I managed to leave behind a few more cuts and once again felt something pass through my head.

I can only guess that whoever was shooting me from before was still trying to shoot me. If it wasn't for the fact my imperial arm makes me intangible they would have killed me three times already. They're an expert marksman to say the least. I then watched as Esdeath appeared behind the male and went to stab him. 

Unfortunately her sword wasn't able to pierce his armor but after a few brief moments she managed to close the distance between them and placed her hand on the male's chest. A bright blue light then came from her hand and the male jumped back seeing this. 

When I looked at him I saw a small ice crystal on his chest and Esdeath smiled as the ice slowly began to spread. The male ran towards Esdeath seeing this and I jumped in between the two and kept him away from her. I'm sure she could have handled him if she needed to but it'd be better if we didn't let the enemy do what they wanted. 

I watched as the ice continued to slowly spread until it reached his joints. When it did the male began to slow down before he stopped moving completely. Esdeath smiled seeing this as she slowly walked towards the male and waited for him to become incased in ice. 

When he did I saw that the male inside became ice as well and Esdeath sighed as she touched the male with her sword. "It's a shame that we couldn't recover Incursio but we do have Grand Chariot, and from what I've heard it's the better of the two anyway," Esdeath said as the male shattered into millions of pieces causing him to look more like dust than shards of ice. 

I smiled hearing this and felt something once again pass through my head. However this time I actually heard a gunshot behind me and turned to see a female with pink hair and pink eyes. I looked at the female in front of me as she held up her gun and I readied myself for the next shot.

However before I could I saw a giant fist come through her and blood splatter everywhere. The female looked down both shocked and horrified at what had happened. She then turned to look at Leone gritting her teeth. "Why? Why would you do this to us?" The pinkette asked as Leone pulled her fist out of the female's stomach. "Y-you bitch!" The female said as she looked at Leone and fell to the ground. I then heard someone behind me and turned to see a male looking at me. I readied my weapon as I looked at him and heard Leone approach me from behind.

"I wouldn't worry about him, he's a newbie. He shouldn't give you any trouble," Leone said as she placed her hand on my shoulder I smiled hearing this and relaxed as I looked at the male in front of me. Leone wasn't the type of person to underestimate her opponents, not to mention she knew what this guy was capable of. If she didn't think he was anything to worry about then I wasn't to worried about him.

The male gritted his teeth and ran towards us and I noticed that he was much slower than the other had been. I guess Leone was right he wasn't anything to worry about. I managed to easily stop and avoid all of his attacks. "What wrong to afraid to fight back?" The male asked as he continued to swing his sword. 

I grew a bit irritated hearing this and moved forward using my imperial arm so that his sword would pass through me. I then swung up and cut off one of his arms. When I did the male began to scream however stopped himself halfway through and looked at me. "About time you started taking me seriously," The male said with a slight smirk. 

"I'm not," I said as I moved back and kicked the male away. "If I'm being honest that was a halfhearted attack. You're so pathetic that it's almost sad to kill you. It's like kicking a lost puppy," I said as I looked at him. 

"Well then get ready because this-" The male began only for Esdeath to sneak behind him and knock him out. When she did she smiled and tossed him over his shoulder. "Great work you two," Esdeath said as she looked at us. 

"We managed to take out two members of Night Raid and we also managed to recapture Tatsumi. This was the best possible outcome, as a reward for the two of you. I'll let you take tomorrow and the next day off," Esdeath said as she looked at the two of us. 

"Thank you general," I said as I looked at the female in front of me. 

"Yeah, thanks," Leone said as she looked at the two. 

"I know this might not seem like much, but if what Leone told us is true, then we've just eliminated a fifth of Night Raid's fighting force," Esdeath said as she looked at us. I smiled hearing this and nodded as I looked at the female in front of me. We nodded and looked at the female in front of us. 

"Not only that but I now also have my Tatsumi back," Esdeath said with a smile. "And don't worry I won't let him escape this time," Esdeath said with an oddly sinister grin on her face. Esdeath then snapped her fingers and two restraints made of ice appeared around Tatsumi's ankles and wrists. 

"Now then let's head back to the capital," Esdeath said as she began to walk back to the capital. As we were walking I turned and looked at Leone. 

"How are you feeling?" I asked as I looked at the female in front of me. 

"Oddly enough, I don't feel the way I thought I would," Leone said as she looked at me. "I'm not devastated and while I'm sad it's not that bad," She said as she looked at me, and before I could say anything she began to lean against me and hold my hand. "I think it's because I knew I was doing it for you," Leone said as she looked at me. 

I smiled hearing this and felt my face heat up slightly. "Thanks, I'll try and make it up to you tomorrow," I said as I looked at Leone. She nodded hearing this and within a few minutes we once again arrived at the capital. We then began to walk to our room and changed into our night attire. 

"You know," I said as I looked at the female in front of me. "You look really beautiful," I said as I sat on the bed she smiled hearing this and sat on my lap. 

"Flatterer," Leone said with a smile as she leaned forward and once again connected our lips in a sweet and passionate kiss. When she did she pushed me back slightly and began to rest on my chest. "I'm really glad I made this choice," She said with a smile. 

I felt my face heat up slightly hearing this and began to hold her before covering both of us. I was glad that she was willing to do this for me. I know I would have done the same thing for her without question but at least this way there's a better chance that we won't both end up dead like we would if we had both joined Night Raid.
