"I'm going to be the next sublime beastar?" Louis asked the headmaster.

"Exactly." The tiger leaned down to speak to him. "It was the council's decision. They want the student who solved the murder case to be the sublime beastar that represents our school."

"I see, but in that case... You should give that title to the male who ate my foot." Louis pulled his pant leg up to showcase his new prosthetic.

"I-I can't! Legoshi isn't part of this school anymore and I know him eating your foot helped him solve the case but... there's just no way I can make a juvenile predator the leader of this school. The police want to censor the incident. Your naive actions would be too much for the adults of our society to handle."

"All right then," Louis wanted to choke the living shit out of Legoshi for doing this turn around on him. He had been the one in the dark, not Legoshi. And now suddenly, in the span on one night, Louis was thrust back into the limelight while the wolf retreated to the shadows. And he hadn't even gotten anywhere with the matter of you. "I alone stopped the murdered Riz at the cost of my leg, and solved the case . That should be good enough for society. However, I don't intend on becoming a sublime beastar because of something I didn't do. That title won't belong to me nor Legoshi. I want to find that missing student." You. He wanted to find you. At the very least, you deserved a proper good-bye from him. Now that he was back in the light, with all the expectations thrust back onto his shoulders, he would never be able to manage a relationship with you. That, and beastars are also expected to be in same-species relationships. They were considered a sign of peace and harmony.

"Well, I knew you were going to say that. I'd like you to at least do your part as the graduation representative, despite your long absence."

"Very well."

The beastar protects the peace of the city day in and day out. There is no time off. There is no excuse for missing work. It is a burden than few can shoulder. Louis wasn't sure if he would be able to handle it, but it seemed he had little choice. Society was still a long way from perfect peace. If he listened to the rumors, he would have believed that the current beastar was dead and the police just kept the myth going. But Louis felt it within himself. He would be like the current Beastar. He would choose to fight for peace with just himself and his capabilities. Louis would be a rarity among heroes, even.

But he knew he would see Legoshi again. He felt it in his bones. Unfortunately, however, that feeling took several months to manifest and it was not under the best of circumstances.

AN: Normally I don't skip a ton of chapters in manga of fics I write, but I am here, mostly because I don't want to spoil every little thing for people who are waiting to watch or trying to read it. So I left a good 10-15 chapters out. It shouldn't make much of a difference, but also it means I'm almost out of reference material which slows me down :( That's why these chapters are taking longer to write. I'm having to read 10+ chapters before getting to any relevant story material to progress the story and not write filler.
