"Theta?" Koschei asked into the darkness of their dorm room. It was just him and Theta now that the other residents had completed their exams. Though Koschei didn't mind, he never really liked them anyway. They used to steal his things and used to lock him outside so he would get chased by the Gaoibeasts. Theta had been snoring all night. Usually he didn't mind his friend making such noise, in fact he fell asleep to it most nights when there was no rain drumming on the windows to fall asleep to. But tonight was different. There was no drumming of rain on the window, just the sound of Theta in his dream world echoing around the empty bunk beds. And then of course there was his dream that kept him up all night.

"Theta!" he called again, and his friend twisted in his blue duvet cover. He rose upwards, his blonde hair flopped across his forehead and his eyes heavy with sleep.

"What?" he answered, half climbing, half tripping down the ladder to Koschei's bed. Koschei slept on the bottom bunk, Theta on the top (there had been much dispute over this, but Theta eventually won, by means of a test answer bribe). "What is it now? You better not have a cream pie down there. I'm not falling for that again".

"I'm having that dream again", Koschei said, bolt upright against his headboard, clutching his cushion to his chest.

"The one with the Gaoibeast that can get into Gallifrey? Because that was pretty creepy". Gaoibeasts were the least of Koschei's worries, in fact they probably were the least of everyone's worries. They were around the size of a bull, with crimson skin dyed by the atmosphere, and, according to stories about the school, used to sharpen their horns on the bones of their victims. Though nobody was scared of them as they had been cursed to never step foot over the borders of the city.

"No, it's... different", he murmured, the end of his sentence drifting into silence. "You know what, it's getting late and we've got class tomorrow. Plus, you probably don't want to hear about some old dream".

"No, no, I want to", Theta replied with a curious grin. "Oh, come on. What else are we going to do? Travel the galaxy?" Koschei chuckled at the thought of him and Theta knocking about the universe.

"We'd probably kill each other straight away just out of boredom", Koschei thought to himself.

"So, come on then. Show me what you've got", Theta said, pulling him out of his dream world of galaxies, Daleks and God knows what else.

"Well, it's purple", he lulled, trying to remember it. "And there's a woman, no face, just a silhouette. She said I have to look after you because..."

"Because what?"

"Because you're going to save the universe". Theta laughed. A elongated, almost humorous in itself, laugh that lasted for minutes.

"That's brilliant. Please, please, tell me more. This woman sounds a-mazing".

"Don't be sarcastic Theta. This is serious", Koschei retorted, punching him gently in the shoulder.

"Sorry", he said, chuckling slightly under his breath. "Carry on".

"And she said I'm going to have to be brave because I'm going to do some things I regret. And I will lose some friends I never thought I would. She sounded very determined about it all, and... she had a accent".

"Did she leave a name?"

"Yeah. Missy".
