TENC - 10 - Where Did the Party Go

A/N: Sorry I haven't updated in soooo long. I've been doing a Jekyll and Hyde fanfiction :-)

"Did I do it?" the Master thought to herself. "Did I do it in time?". Slowly she opened her eyes to just purple and blue, swirling around her. She had, she had teleported in time, but Gallifrey... Gallifrey was gone. She could never go home again, and it was Theta, the Doctor, whatever the Hell he's calling himself now's fault. And now she was stuck in the Time Vortex. It was really turning into a rubbish day. "Turn me into a woman, make me all happy and then you throw this at me", she thought and could hear herself speaking in her head. Even her subconscious was Scottish. She flapped about, floating in the Time Vortex, but didn't make any progress. She checked her device again. The teleport had run out of power... typical. But surely she could use the energy from the Vortex to charge it, right? Her long brown hair was starting to get in her face, and was covering her vision. "God, I swear I'm going to kill that Theta next time I see him", she said quietly to herself. The energy in the atmosphere was slowly sapping back into the teleport feature. There was a dim purple light around her, mixed with indigo light, which bounced off the silvery exterior of the device.

"I'm seriously going to kill him", she said to herself, and her voice echoed through the Time Vortex. Usually this amount of time in here would drive anyone mad, luckily for the Master she had beaten it t it. The Master. It sounded so dated now she ran over it in her head. In fact she had heard and said it so many times it had began to lose its meaning. The Mistress sounded so... intimidating. And so her. "Yes. I love it", she shouted, quite proud at her new title. "I love it, I love it, I love it". She could see it now, hundreds of grovelling Earthlings at her feet, crying for her mercy. And at the front of them all would be the Doctor, begging her to keep his pets alive, only for her to take it away from him, like he did her so many times before. She was so far into her dreamworld she started to believe it reality, instead of floating around weakly in a temporal schism. However a beeping soon knocked her back into the real wold, however boring it was. It was the device; it had recharged. With a creeping grin of vengeful happiness she hit the button and teleported out.

Sunlight hit her in the eyes the second she touched dry land. She winced, but it didn't blur her joy at finally being given a chance for revenge. And, boy, was she going to take it...
