Run - Part Ten
A/N: I'm bringing back the psychopath, dearie, they're getting their story just in time for Christmas. Ooh, spoilers!
"So, are we okay Doctor? We finally back on track?" Missy asked as she nuzzled into his shoulder staring at the Gallifreyan symbols rotate above the console.
"Of course, but one condition", he replied nonchalantly, before turning to face her with calm eyes. "No more lying".
"I... I thought I would lose you... you know, if I told you the correct co-ordinates. That you'd go sauntering off to try and defreeze it and leave me again".
"Missy, the whole reason I wanted to find it again was to give us a home. We've been homeless, for God knows how long-"
"One thousand, two hundred and fifty two years", she interrupted, tears starting to form in her eyes.
"Yeah, and I just wanted us to be, well, us again. Not having to run away from it all, just resolve it".
"Well that's a first Doctor", she gave an awkward smile. "Maybe you're right, it's time we stopped running"...
Was she really going to do this? Clara was standing in the middle of St. Oswalds, the groundskeeper still watching from afar, but keeping his distance, and she didn't know what to do. If she did this it would change everything. She stared at Danny's lifeless body on the ground next to what was his grave. His face was caked in mud and his Cyber armour was falling off in places. I had only started out with her pawing at the pile of dirt covering him over, but once she caught sight of silver underneath, she had to do it. So she dug, deeper, deeper, until she found him, her Danny. The Danny Pink that she had seen past, present and future (and dream crab world if you count it).
The Mire healthkit was in her hand, staring at her attractively in the face. She could bring him back, save him, but what would the Doctor say? Oh he would shout, he would yell, but she would have Danny back. And that's all she wanted. He would be immortal though, he would outlive her. Doubts were already rushing through her head, but all were counteracted by the overhanging thought that she could have him back. So she just stared at his body and sighed. What was she to do?
"Give me the co-ordinates and I'll give you Ashildr", shouted Doctor from underneath the console. He had got into yet another scrap with Missy, even though he was sure they just professed their eternal friendship.
"Daughter first, co-ordinates later".
"Fine", he huffed. "But answer me one thing, is she really my daughter?"
"Why? Don't you believe me?"
"That's a wider topic altogether. Just... just tell me", he asked, slightly pleadingly.
"...No... no she's not. Please tell me where she is". Her tone had neutralised again, less angry and with more sadness.
"I'll take her to her, but I get the co-ordinates in return".
"Deal". She started wandering up the steps to the console, but the Doctor's voice stopped her dead.
"And! I get the Nethersphere key".
"Why?" she asked, curious.
"There's a... friend I know there".
"A friend? Now if I wasn't the genius, stunningly beautiful self I am I would have thought you've been cheating on me".
"Well, what can I say? I have a thing for psychopaths".
