Immortals - 5
Missy didn't know whether to be fuming or upset. Or both. She just sat outside the TARDIS doors with her head in her hands. "How could I be so naïve?" she thought to herself. The Doctor would never accept her as his partner, in crime or in love. She was the deformed personification of everything that disappointed him, mischief without reason and murder without target. No, no, she wasn't going to sit and cry over some madman like all the other lovesick Earthlings that he had dragged along with him. She was to be strong, even if it broke her heart. She got up, quite impressed with the pep talk she gave herself, and walked away, not looking back at the blue box. Well, that was until she realised where she actually was. And when she was. She could taste it in the air, the taste of salt and smoke. She was in London, present time. Standing next to the overhanging shadow of a gigantic stone castle, of sorts. Missy recognised it straight away from her explorations. To normal mortals it was the Tower of London, a prison for those who turned against their monarch. She herself had been incarcerated inside for many days by the late, great Henry VIII, for stealing the Crown Jewels. Well, what was a queen without her crown? But, to those more 'privileged', or those who were connected to the Doctor, they has the reward of knowing its true value. Hidden beneath the walls where the public so commonly walked was the largest collection of alien tech known to the galaxy. A museum of every race. Missy had never been in there, never invited, but she did wonder what juicy gossip that they had on her and if they had actually updated her gender yet.
The Doctor couldn't wait for her to come back, he couldn't wait for anything. His plans were already going so fast that no hiccup could pause it. The power source wasn't sustaining and he was fast approaching his ideal date - Anklarae Day. Anklarae Day was the day of new beginnings, the one day in the Gallifreyan calendar that actually mattered. Because on this day the first Gallifreyan city was founded, and the Doctor wanted his new civilisation to be founded on that day too. With or without Missy.
"Ah, what treasures do you hold inside?" Missy asked herself, stroking the dark oak, front door of the Black Archive.
"Uh, excuse me, Ma'am. Would you like access to the Tower of London?" A voice asked from behind her. She spun around to see a short man with receding blonde hair. He was all in black, but with a grey strap across his chest, emblazoned with a logo.
"UNIT?" Missy asked, circling the man. She could see that her presence made him nervous, he obviously knew who she was.
"Depends who's asking", he stuttered.
"I'm a friend of the Doctor. Call me Missy". She rummaged in her coat pocket and pulled out a psychic paper, stolen, of course. He studied it, squinting at whatever he saw.
"Of course, Ma'am. Please come in". He opened the door and gestured for Missy to go in. However, he did not follow her. Instead he closed the door behind her, and the lights flickered above her. It was dark, pitch black, apart from the dimmed lights above. Missy knew what she was after, and it was no item. She would soon find it, but her little friend outside had called for backup from UNIT, so she had to find it fast.
Hurrying, she rushed through the aisles of the archive, passing the strange and wonderful that the galaxy had to offer. Then, she found it. Pasted onto the back wall was everything Missy needed to find the Doctor's companions again. Every detail down to current location was there for the taking. And it was all hers.
