A Unique Raksha Bandhan
So here comes Raksha Bandhan special in advance.
Enjoy everyone 😚
It was the festival of Raksha Bandhan and Raizada house was enriched accordingly for the occasion. At first decorating only the home temple area had become a tradition ever since it was first done by Khushi. But after the arrival of twins into the world, whole Shantivan was bedecked for next Raizada brother and sisters’ generation’s first Raksha Bandhan. Eventually it became a tradition as one and a half year old Akshay had been so astonished by the beautification.
Raksha Bandhan was Akshay’s festival. He enjoyed all the attention and his favorite Chachu NK's visit. But there was one thing which bothered him and he was going to do something about it. He had it all planned and prepared.
Both the Raizada and Gupta families stood in the temple area to celebrate the beautiful bond of a brother and sister. Every year the Gupta family was also invited to celebrate Rakhi with their grandchildren.
It was first Anjali who one by one tied Rakhis to Arnav, Akash and NK. After that it was the little ones’ turn and their mothers stepped ahead to guide their children.
Khushi made the twins hold puja thal and helped them do the aarti and then they both tied one rakhi each on his wrist.
Twins were very happy. They made the wristbands for their dear bro with the help of their Anji Bua who gave them the idea since she too makes them herself.
Aaru was too excited and as soon she tied the band around Akshay's wrist, she didn't hold back.
Aaru - Laakhi kaicchi hai? (How's the Rakhi?)
Akshay - It's super. My favorite Mickey Mouse.
Akshay lied with a huge smile. He watched Mickey Mouse with Aarushi but wasn't that fond of that cartoon. He loved Arshi's Ben 10 Rakhi more. It looked so cool, kinda like the Omnitrix. He and Arshi shared the same love for the alien universe which is why she knew what he'll love.
Aaru - Mela gif-t? (My gift?)
Akshay - Meri cute shi choti shi doll ke liye ye gift. (Here is the gift for my cute lil doll)
Everyone standing there chuckled as 5 years old Akshay fondly pulled his 4 years old cousins cheeks.
Aarushi grabbed her present and was to open it immediately but her mother took it away.
Khushi - Later Aaru. Be patient.
Aaru - Now Mumma. I shee my gift and give back if I no like.
Khushi hit her head at her materialist daughter. There is Akshay, who could lie for her sake and then there is her.
Khushi - But Akshay got this gift for you with so much love. You will give it back? You'll make your bhai sad?
Aarushi looked at Akshay who just blinked and she pouted shaking her head.
Aaru - No. I luv bhai. No shee shad.
Everyone went awwww when she hugged him tight. Payal then passed the other present to Akshay which he handed over to the other twin.
Akshay - Arshi, ye tumhare liye. Ab ek huggie?
He smiled at her and opened his arm.
Arshi blinked with a smile and joined in the embrace.
Khushi and Payal gripped each others hands, overjoyed with the love their kids shared.
NK clicked another shot to capture the best moment of this year's Raksha Badhan.
Aaru - Chachu, shee mah dlesh.
She withdrew as soon she saw NK and started posing for the camera. She was wearing a traditional pink lehenga choli and couldn't help admire herself in it. Arnav raised his brows with a chuckle.
NK - My sweetie is looking beautiful. Arshi, you too do some pose.
Arshi blinked at him scrunching her nose but then grabbed the opportunity to annoy her little sister.
Arshi - Oh shee. I look moa buti-ful.
Aarushi’s jaw dropped at her comment as Arshi jumped in front of her and covered her view with her flared frock.
Aaru - Shoo bad.
Arshi grinned at her sister who flared her nose at her. Khushi was to intervene but Akshay averted their attention back to himself.
Akshay - Arshi, Aaru, come hea. You forgot something.
They ran back to him. Everyone looked at him puzzled.
Akshay - Bring out your hands.
They looked at each other but obeyed him. He pulled out two Rakhis out of his pocket and stretched them to tie around their wrists.
Payal frowned at him.
Payal - What are you doing?
Akshay - I'll also tie Rakhi to them. Then I'll also get my gifts.
Khushi couldn't hold back her laughter while it was Payal's time to facepalm herself.
Payal - Akshay, beta, this doesn't work like this.
Akshay - It does! Anji Bua got gifts when she ties Rakhi and I gave gifts to them. Now I'll tie it and also get my gifts!
Payal - But sisters tie Rakhis to their brothers, not the other way round.
Akshay - Not fair! Why no gifts for me? This is stupid!
He stomped his foot on the ground.
NK - He's right!
An enlighted NK spoke up but after a glare of Arnav, went back to his seat acting as if he didn't say anything.
Payal - Akshay, be a good boy and listen to me.
Akshay stepped ahead to handle him but Arnav spoke before him.
Arnav - That's ok Payal, let him do that. Then we'll take Akshay and he can choose his own gifts. Isn't it?
He looked at the twins for approval who just seemed confused at this sudden turn of events.
Khushi - A minute Arnavji.
Khushi kept the presents she was holding away and knelt down to the three again.
Khushi - Before that I want to tell them the meaning of Raksha Bandhan. I wanted to do that yesterday night during bedtime already but it somehow slipped my mind.
She caressed the three’s faces and held their hands together before starting.
Khushi - Raksha means protection and Bandhan means bond. When a sister ties a Rakhi around her brothers wrist, she's not doing it for any gifts. It's a promise she receives from her brother that he will always be there for her when she needs him and will always protect her.
She ran her hand over Akshay's wrist as the three listened to her carefully.
Khushi - Raksha Bandhan is a promise of protection, love and care. Some girls also tie Rakhi to their fathers because a father also promises to always protect his children.
While everyone admired the narration and Khushi's matured handling of the situation, the three junior Raizadas had their mind work in more ways.
Akshay - I love these two. But so not fair, only I have to potekt them? They will not potekt me? What if I need help?
Arshi - Yesh Mumma, not good. I osho potek bhai. Oywash.
Aarushi - Me too. Mah good bhai.
She hugged him from the side, as if protecting just requires holding someone closer.
Khushi - Yes shona, of course you both love your brother and would always protect him. Akshay, go ahead. Tie the Rakhis.
Arshi - And I potek Mumma too.
She held her hand closer to herself, already looking around for dangers.
Aarushi - And Daddy? I potek Daddy! O-waysh.
She ran to him now, grabbing a Jalebi from the plate kept on the table on the way. Arnav opened his arms chuckling at her.
Arnav - Come here little Khushi.
Khushi hit her forehead. She should have known these ASRs are not to be easily tamed. She has created monsters. They are protective of their parents and will want to promise their protection.
Akshay - Arshi, let me tie this. Then Aaru’s turn. And then Mumma
Payal - Akshay, sweetie, I'll always protect you. I'm your mother. I don't need a thread to guarantee that.
She was met with the narrowed gazes of the three little Raizadas. It sunk into her what she just said, so immediately corrected herself.
Payal - I mean, a mother child don't need that. It's just- Raksha Bandhan is for brothers and sisters.
Akshay - But you don't have a brother. So think of me as brother and tie this.
The elders raised their brows at him and then looked at each other giggling.
Payal scratched her head for a second but not finding anything to say, she sighed just.
Payal - Okay fine.
He nodded satisfied and tied Rakhis to Arshi and then Aarushi who finished her Jalebi and grabbed the laddoo Akshay fed her too.
Payal then had to tie Rakhi to him. Twins weren't left behind then.
Arshi - Mumma, hea. Now u do. You too no bhai, sho u think I bhai!
Khushi facepalmed herself but couldn't help burst in laughter.
Arshi held her hand out for her. Aarushi jumped off her Daddy’s arms to not miss it out.
Anjali - Is there anything more adorable than my nephew and nieces? I think not!
Khushi smiled at her and had to tie Rakhis to both her offsprings.
Arshi - I pomish I owaysh potek Mumma.
Aarushi - Me too pomish.
Arshi - I no leave who hut Mumma.
She fisted looking at Arnav who amusingly looked at his sister who in turn giggled at him.
Akash - Bhai, I have this feeling it's not going to end well for us.
Arnav - You bet!
Anjali - So my dear brothers, I suggest you both watch out from now on. Your wives got bodyguards now.
The Guptas and Raizadas couldn't stop laughing at that. They weren't expecting Akshay to start this initiative.
Arnav - My little Khushi will protect me too.
Anjali - She clearly forgot about it, Chote.
Anjali couldn't keep herself from teasing her little brother. This is surely going to be lots of fun in the upcoming days.
Akshay - So, now my gifts?
He turned to the twins after they were done getting more bands tied onto their wrists.
They both just shrugged their shoulders at him. Arnav came to their rescue.
Arnav - We'll go for shopping later. Then you will get your gifts, Ok?
Akshay - Better. Now let's go play.
They shook their heads at each other in affirmation.
Khushi - Arnavji, later when you take them. I'm coming along.
Arnav - Why?
Khushi - Because I know, if the three demand you buy the whole shop for them, you will!
Khushi crossed her arms under her bosoms.
Arnav - I'm not a kid! I know the limits.
Khushi - You don't. You're weak when it comes to them.
Arnav - What the.
He just slightly raised his voice not noticing it but the little people near them heard it quite well.
Arshi - Daddy
He looked at her. She pointed to her two eyes and then at him.
Arshi - I watch u mishter.
Khushi laughed keeping a palm over her mouth and winked at him.
Khushi - I have my brothers to protect me now, Laad Governor.
She whispered to him before moving away.
And the rest of the day was spent with a lot of good food and the Rakhi Protection Force doing their work.
.
.
.
The Rakhi Protection Force will return.
Till then happy Raksha Bandhan to all the siblings😚😚😚
