Chapter 2: Trespassers
The two figures known as Adam and King were currently walking through the woods. The two had been wandering around for a little over two weeks at this point. Neither one of them being any closer to finding any form of society. "Think we should start looking for some more pinecones? I don't think we're going to find a city today either," Adam said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"Yeah," King said as he looked at the male next to him and they had begun to split up and look for whatever pieces of food they could find. Most of which consisted of pinecones. And while most of this world was strange and new, they were happy that there were still some things that they were able to recognize. However, most of what they saw was still new and strange to them, so they avoided eating a lot of things fearing they may be poisoned otherwise.
As they looked around trying to find whatever they could eat they began to hear some rustling by them. "Did you hear that?" King asked as he looked at Adam causing him to nod. The two without saying a word then began to walk closer to the sound that they had heard. When they did, they saw two men dressed in some rather strange clothes.
The two seemed to be wearing the exact same outfit, a tight black piece of armor that covered their chest but left their mid-drift exposed, with a rather festive looking scarf that hung down on both sides being decorated with jewels, baggy pants, and a pair of boots that went over their pants. "I was sure that I heard someone over here," one of the men said as he looked around.
"It's no big deal, everyone makes mistakes," The other said as they began to walk away. When they did Adam and King both began to slowly move away and once, they thought they were out of earshot they looked at each other.
"What do you think?" King asked as he looked at the male in front of him.
"I don't know, they had matching uniforms so maybe they're guards?" Adam asked as he looked at the male next to him.
"Maybe, it did seem to be an outfit. Everything about it seemed to be the same. So, what do you say? Want to try our luck?" King asked as he looked at the male in front of him.
"Well, they are the first people we've seen since we got here. Even if they don't take us to a town, they can at least point us in the right direction," Adam said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"Yeah, alright well let's go after them," King said as he began to walk in the direction the two had gone earlier. As he did Adam followed behind him as they continued to move closer and closer to the two men from before. And when the two eventually came into sight King smiled and called out to the two of them. "Hey!" King said as he moved closer to them. When he did the two stopped and began to look around. "Hey, over here!" King said as he moved closer to them.
As he did the two took a defensive stance with one summoning a fireball in front of his hand, and the other channeling some lightning above his hand with some small chains being shot at the ground every so often. "Who are you and what do you want?!" one of the men said as he looked at the two in front of him. When he said this both Adam and King put their hands up in a nonthreatening manner.
"Woah, take it easy. We're just a bit lost, and we were wondering if you could tell us where the nearest town was?" Adam asked as he looked at the two in front of him.
"Lost? Well then for your information you're currently wandering through the tranquil forest. And you're unusually close to our college," one of the men said as his fireball began to burn a bit more intensely even starting to crackle and shoot off some embers into the air.
"Alright, look we didn't know. We're not from here. Just tell us where to go and we'll leave," Adam said as he looked at the two in front of him. The four figures were silent for a moment neither one of them saying anything before one of them eventually spoke up.
"No," he said as he looked at the two in front of him.
"What?" King asked as he looked at the two in front of him.
"You two aren't leaving. I don't know who you two are, but this story about 'being lost' I'm not buying it. Especially not when the two of you are so close to our college. I bet you two are part of the knights sent here to try and stop us," The male said as he looked at the two in front of him.
"To stop you? We walked up to you to ask you for help! Why would we walk up to you if we were just going to-" King began only for the males in front of him to both send their attacks forward each one going by his head. While the electricity created a loud crackling sound in one ear the fire created an uncomfortable heat on the other sending the male back and nearly causing him to fall over.
"I suggest you hold your tongue, especially if that insolent tone is what you plan on taking with us. You two will come with us, there you will tell us who you are and what you want," one of the men said as he looked at the two in front of him.
"Alright we'll go, just . . . chill," Adam said as he looked at the two.
"Arms in front of you," one of the men said as he looked at them. When he said this the two both slowly extended their arms waiting for some form of chains of cuffs to be placed on their wrists. When they did the male that had been channeling lightning stopped and moved his hands in a circular motion. As he did several rocks began to surround the two and their wrists locking them in place before solidifying. When it did Adam's arm's almost immediately fell down and he looked at the weight on his arms.
"Geez this is heavy," Adam said as he looked at the block of rock around him.
"Eh, not that heavy," King said as he lifted his arms slightly. "Ten pounds maybe?" King said as he looked at the male in front of him. Adam looked as if he were going to say something before one of the men in front of him spoke.
"Shut up, and follow us," The male said as he began to walk away. As he did both King and Adam followed behind him. The four walked for several minutes, and as they did Adam began to show some signs of fatigue from having a heavy set of rocks binding his arms together. Starting to slow down, pant lightly, fidget with the weight a bit trying to figure out the easiest way to carry it. When the four finally arrived at the building in front of them they came to what appeared to be a mansion.
When they arrived, they were stopped by two men wearing similar clothes. However, compared to the uniforms the other two were wearing this appeared to be a much heavier set of armored. Covering every part of the body with overlapping plates. "Halt!" One of them called out before moving closer. "Explain," he said gesturing to Adam and King. "We found these two on our patrols. We suspect them of harming the princess in some manner, so we've brought them in for questioning," The male said as he looked at the guard.
"Acknowledged, proceed," the male said as he turned and began to walk back to the position that he had been at before. As he did King and Adam looked at each other and when they walked in saw, they saw several people wearing different kinds of attire talking and conversing with one another.
"So, what does your college teach?" King asked as he looked at the two in front of him. He thought that if he could at least get on the guards' good side then they may not be as hasty when it came to attacking them like before.
"We teach nothing, the princess is the one who shall teach us," The male said as he continued to walk down the
"I see, so what's she going to teach you then?" King asked as he looked at the two in front of him.
"She shall teach us the true meaning of eternity. She'll show us the true meaning of perfection, and why it's more obtainable than any of us could have possibly imagined. Once she ascends, we will all know our place in this world. And the ritual to set these events in motion shall take place soon. But that doesn't concern you. All the naysayers shall be left behind to rot in their own miserable squabbles in this world," The guard said as he opened a door revealing a rather narrow hallway with a set of stairs that seemed to lead underground.
Both Adam and King looked down the stairs with a bit of skepticism before slowly being forced down the stairs. "So uh, during this ritual. What exactly happens?" King asked as they continued to walk down the stairs.
"We'd never be foolish enough to tell an outsider the exact details of our ritual. But know this, once the ritual is complete our princess will create a new universe and found paradise. A realm free from this one and its 'laws'. This new realm will be eternal perfection!" The male said as they eventually reached the bottom of the stairs and were forced into a small cell with iron bars surrounding them.
Once they were inside the male once again made a circular motion with his hands. As he did the rocks that had been binding them together split in half freeing their hands as the rocks fell to the ground. As it did Adam immediately sighed with relief and began to move his wrist around as did King. "We shall return shortly, be ready," The men said as they began to walk away. As they did Adam and King once again waited until they were out of earshot before once again talking to each other.
"So, I'm not the only one thinking this is a cult, right?" Adam asked as he looked at King.
"You kidding me? Did you hear what that guy said about making a new realm of paradise? This is a cult without a doubt," King said as he looked at the male next to him.
"Bro, this chosen one gig isn't nearly as fun as the other TV shows made it look," Adam said as he looked at the male.
"Usually in those shows, they have an advantage. But instead of taking that advantage you just chose to drag me into this world with you," King said as he looked at the male. When he said this Adam took a deep breath and sighed.
"True enough," Adam said with a sigh as he sat down on the ground. "So now what?" Adam asked as he looked at the male in front of him.
"Just wait for them, I guess. Maybe if we're lucky they'll let us join and we can bail when we get the chance," King said as he looked at the male.
"Are you kidding? You want to join these people?" Adam asked as he looked at the male.
"No, pretend to join them. And unless you can pull some escape plan out your butt, I don't think we're leaving this place any time soon," King said as he gestured to the cell around them. When he said this Adam sighed and looked up. "Besides, it's not all bad, we got some useful information," King said as he looked at the male.
"Like what, King?!" Adam asked as he looked at the male next to him his frustration clearly showing.
"Magic. We now know it exists," King said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"That's not exactly groundbreaking considering everything we've seen," Adam said as he looked at the male.
"Yeah, I guess so," King said as a silence started to take hold of them. "Want to know what the weird thing is?" King asked as he looked at Adam.
"What?" Adam asked as he looked at King.
"I used to think magic was cool. And then I had a fireball and lightning bolt by my face and suddenly it wasn't that cool anymore," King said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"Oh, gee I wonder why?" Adam said in a sarcastic and somewhat frustrated tone.
"Look, Adam, I'm trying it wasn't my idea to come to this god-forsaken place you know," King said as he looked at the male. Adam once again looked as if he were going to say something but stopped when he heard the door at the end of the hallway open. The two stayed silent for a moment waiting for whoever was approaching them to finally come in sight. And like before two guards wearing heavy armor appeared in front of them with someone in a rob that covered everything except their head.
"Now then, your names?" The male said as he looked at them.
"I'm King," King said without hesitation, when he did the male turned to Adam.
"I'm Adam," Adam said as he looked at the male.
"Definitely not local names that's for sure," The male said as he wrote down on a piece of paper. "Now where are you two from?" He asked as he looked at them. When he said this the two were quiet for a moment before King spoke up.
"We're from a place called North America," King said as he looked at the male in front of him. When he said this the male looked at him.
"I'm not familiar with such a kingdom," The male said as he looked at the two.
"Really? What kingdom are we in now?" King asked as he looked at the male.
"You're in the Larenth kingdom," The male said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"Don't think I've ever heard of this place either," King said as he looked at the male.
"I see, you two must be from beyond the rifting storm then," The male said as he looked at the two.
"Now then, please tell me. What's your level and stats?" The male said as he looked at them. When he said this the two were once again quiet and the male sighed. "I had a feeling this would be a problem," The male said as he handed the piece of paper to the male next to him. "Fine, if you won't tell me willingly, I'll just extract the information I need by force," The male said as he walked into the cell.
When he did a blue ring appeared under Adam with several blue squares left him, leaving behind a small trail of ones and zeroes as it did. Once the blue squares formed a sphere the ring disappeared. The male then held out his free hand and the guard handed him the sheet of paper before he placed it on it. When he did the orb began to dissolve onto the paper before eventually becoming a series of letters and numbers.
As the male looked over the piece of paper, he chuckled a bit before turning the paper over. "Alright your turn," The male said as he looked at King before once again doing the same thing to him. And like before once he had the orb, he placed it on the sheet of paper and when he saw what was written rolled his eyes before handing the piece of paper to the two guards. "You two can leave your post they're no threat," The male said as he began to walk away.
"But sir what if they escape?" The guard asked.
"Let them! With attributes and stats as pitiful as theirs, they're not a danger to anyone. Thought their talents may pique lady Ingwane's interest," one of the males said as he looked at the guard. "They're only level two, most of the kids around the house could probably take them. Your efforts are better spent elsewhere than guarding them," The male said as he began to walk away, tossing the papers away as he did.
As he did the guard nodded and began to walk away with his commander. "Seriously? Those guys are only level two?" The male asked. When he did Adam scowled at the two and reached for the piece of paper that they had dropped. When he did, he saw their names and several things on it.
"What does it say?" King asked as he walked up to the male to look at the sheet of paper he was holding as well.
"Looks like the attributes are what he was talking about," Adam said as he looked over the piece of paper. "Holy shit, look at this my armorer skill and your cooking skill are both maxed out at one hundred," Adam said as he looked at the male.
"What? Why? I mean I get why my cooking is maxed out but why is your armorer skill maxed?" King asked as he looked at the male.
"I don't know it's not like I go around forging armor. And if they're maxed, why are we only level two?" Adam asked as he looked at the sheet of paper.
"Yeah . . . " King said as he looked at the piece of paper. "I mean some of these make sense like my archery only being five, I've never used a bow in my life. Others though . . . they're a bit questionable," King said as he looked at them.
"Yeah, I'll say . . .Why are so many of your attributes higher than mine?" Adam said as he looked at King.
"What?" King asked with a fair bit of confusion as he looked at Adam.
"Our attributes, why are almost all of yours higher than mine? We came to this world at the same time we should have equal stats. But they're not they're all over the place," Adam said as he looked at the sheet of paper.
"I mean, the attributes are more or less our base stats, right? If that's the case, is it really that surprising that mine are higher than yours? I mean, I go to the gym just about every day and work out," King said as he looked at the male.
"Well, yea but still, I'm the chosen one. I should have chosen one stat," Adam said as he looked at the sheet of paper.
"I mean it's not that bad, your charisma is basically triple mine," King said as he looked at the male.
"Yeah, and your strength is triple mine, your speed is twice mine, your stamina quadruples mine, and your fortitude is twice as much as mine as well. And look at this! My luck doesn't even have a stat! It's literally labeled as zero! What am I supposed to make of that!" Adam said as he looked at the male.
"Well, I mean, it's not you're the luckiest guy I know. It makes sense your luck is low," King said as he looked at the male.
"But so low it's not registered? What kind of bullshit is that?!" Adam asked as he looked at the male.
"I mean, at least some of our stats are the same, like magic and mana," King said as he looked at the paper.
"That's only because magic didn't exist in our world," Adam said as he looked at the male.
"Yeah," King said as he looked over the stats and skill that he had.
"What are these talents though?" King asked as he looked at the small section on both their sides. Each one having a single talent with Adam's being listed as 'Legendary Haute' and King's as 'Renown Epicure'.
"I don't know, is 'Haute' even a word?" Adam asked as he looked at the male.
"I've never heard of it. Never heard of Epicure for that matter either," King said as he looked at the sheet of paper. "Maybe they're words from this world that we got to learn?" King offered as he looked at the male.
"You think?" Adam asked as he looked at the male.
"Only answer I got. I mean it makes sense, right? That this world would have words we don't and vice-versa. I mean I guarantee if say the word 'poggers' to any of them they're going to have no idea what we're talking about," King said as he looked at the male.
"Fair enough," Adam said as he looked at the male. As the two stared at the page Adam eventually touched the word 'Haute' and when he did a small description popped up under the word. "Oh look," Adam said gaining King's attention before he began to read out loud. "This talent allows those blessed with it to created elegant and fashionable clothes out of almost any material," Adam said as he looked at the skill.
"So, you can make clothes? Well, I guess that explains why your armorer skill is so high," King said as he looked at the male.
"Yeah, which means your skill probably has to do with cooking. Actually, maybe that explains why those pinecones you kept making were so good," Adam said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"Yeah, but again why is your armorer skill so high? It doesn't make that much sense," King said as he looked at the male. "I mean I wanted to cook pretty much my entire life. But you . . . Did you want to make clothes?" King asked as he looked at the male in front of him. When he asked this Adam became a little quiet.
"Well, I mean . . . " Adam began as he looked at King. When he said this King looked at him a bit surprised.
"I didn't know you wanted to make clothes," King said as he looked at Adam.
"Yeah, kind of. It was sort of my dream job. But I don't know anything about making clothes, so I just kept it to myself," Adam said as he looked at the male.
"I . . . I see . . . well for the record I think you should go for it. I don't know how hard it is so I don't have room to talk but I'm sure you can do it," King said as he looked at Adam causing him to chuckle a bit.
"Thanks," Adam said as he looked at the male. After a bit of time had passed another male came into the room. When he did the two looked up at him.
"Please, come with me you two," The male said as he opened the door. When he did the two looked at each other before standing and following the male out of the room. As they did the two were brought down a hallway with several openings. As they did King looked into them and in one room saw a large room with several different kinds of food on display. As well as several people gathered around a large table.
"The princess has decided tonight shall be the night that the ritual is complete. And one of you will help her ascend to her new realm of understanding," The male said as he looked at the two.
"Uhm," Adam began only for the male to cut him off and once again continue.
"We understand you haven't been welcomed with open arms. But it was all out of precaution not out of hostility towards the two of you. If you accept this offer, the princess is willing to take the two of you in for the night providing you with whatever materials and supplies you may need before sending the two of you on your way," The male said as he looked at them.
"Awesome, what do we need to do?" Adam asked as he looked at the male in front of him.
"You help her ascend by relieving her of her purity. With such foolhardiness aside and behind her she will finally understand what she needs to do in order to guide us to the promised land," The male said as he looked at the two in front of him. The two were quiet for a moment before one of them eventually spoke up.
"Are you saying you want us to . . . have sex with your princess?" King asked as he looked at the male. When he said this male looked a bit annoyed hearing this before sighing.
"I don't expect you two to understand. But in simple terms, yes. We would like one of you to engage in lewd activities with our princess," The male said as he looked at the two in front of him. When he did the two turned to look at each other. They were silent for a moment before the male turned around. "I shall give you two ample time to discuss the matter," The male said as he walked out of the room. When he did the two turned to each other.
When he was out of the room the two once again looked at each other. "Do it, Adam," King said as he looked at the male.
"What? Me? Why me?" Adam asked as he looked at the male.
"Because you got higher charisma. Do it, fuck the cultist," King said as he looked at the male.
"No, fuck you! I don't want to!" Adam said as he looked at King.
"Come on dude, you're the one with high charisma you gotta do it," King said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"I don't care! I'm not going to do it!" Adam said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"Adam listen to me, we need this. We've done nothing but wander around lost for the past two weeks! If you do this, we can get some equipment, directions, and you finally cash in your V-card. I'm so tired of eating pinecones, slimes, and whatever else we find. That's not a sustainable lifestyle. Sometimes you just gotta take one for the team. So, get in there and fuck the cultist!" King said as he looked at the male.
"But I don't want to fuck a cultist! Why can't you do it?" Adam said as he looked at the male in front of him.
"If I had the charisma for it, I would. I'm so tired of eating boiled pinecones. They're so horrible!" King said as he looked at the male.
"No! I don't even know what this princess whatever looks like!" Adam said as he looked at the male.
"She looks fine trust me," King said as he looked at him.
"How do you know? What makes you so sure?" Adam asked as he looked at the male.
"I snuck a peek as we were being led here. I wanted to look at the food, and if the princess is the girl at the head of the table, you'll be fine," King said as he looked at him. When he said this Adam became a bit quiet as he looked at the male in front of him.
"What does she look like?" Adam asked as he looked at the male.
"Black hair, green eyes, great body, cute face. Just ignore the tentacles and you'll be fine," King said as he looked at the male.
"Ugh! Fine but this meal better be damn delicious!" Adam said as he looked at the male in front of him. Adam then began to walk out of the room. And when he did, he saw the male from before beginning to lead them away. As he did another male walked into the room. "I shall be showing you to one of our guest rooms for the night. Is there anything you need?" A male asked.
"Uh, yeah can you show me to the kitchen instead? We're starving and I'd like to have a meal ready for him when he's done," King said as he looked at the male.
"Of course, right this way," The male said as he began to walk away. As he did King followed behind the male. When they arrived, King began to look around. He could several things hanging around the kitchen. Everything from chunks of meat to herbs and spices that were being grown inside the kitchen. "Is there anything else we can get you?" The male asked as he looked at King.
"Huh? Oh, no I'm fine, thank you," King said as he looked at the male in front of him. When he said this the male nodded and began to walk away. As he did King began to walk around looking at all the options, he had to make food from. "Nineteen charisma and zero luck, it makes sense he'd be the one to fuck the cultist," King said as he began to look over the ingredients that the cult had to offer.
After a few hours had passed, Adam was eventually taken to the kitchen where he saw King. "So? How was it?" King asked as he looked at him.
"Bro . . . sex . . .is amazing!" Adam said as he looked at the male in front of him.
