Winter's POV

My whole life, let's just say wasn't the best. From everything terrible possible. Until I met Edward.

Ever since I moved to Forks, Washington, things have gotten better for me. I never thought I would be genuinely happy. Too many times I had tried to end my life. Too many.

But here I am, smiling. Cuddling into the love of my life. His arms are wrapped around my ballooning belly. He kissed my forehead and rubbed my arm.

"I love you," he whispered into my ear, causing me to shiver. His voice always gave me that effect. He gave me that effect.

"I love you more." My voice was dry. And hoarse compared to his.

If you haven't figured out yet, I'm dying from pregnancy. Edward isn't upset for my choice to save my babies.

Oh yeah. Babies. I'm having twins. Forgot to mention that.

He's heard their thoughts, and he knows he can save me from the death. Why? Because Bella was proof. She's alive (well technically dead) and healthy for a vampire. So, we all know that I won't die. Emergency vampirization.

Well, hopefully it would work. Bella never had twins. I am. So hopefully it works. If not, then my death will be worth it. I'll leave the world with two little munchkins.

"That's not possible, mi amore." He kissed my cheeks and I shivered at the icy feeling of his lips against my skin.

No, we weren't married, we were still dating. Well, we've been dating for about three years now. But I'm glad we're taking things slow and he didn't just rush it like Bella.

That's when I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. It wasn't like the twins kicking before. Then, I felt a liquid run down my leg.

I glared at Edward and he did the same to me.

"They're coming," he said and got me up, running me to the room.

I screamed as I felt another shooting pain in me. My eyes fluttered, and the next thing I saw was pitch black.

Edward POV

"Fuck!" I yelled. "CARLISLE!"

Carlisle ran into the room and immediately did the procedure of getting the twins out from Winter. I was helping him, along with Rosalie and Alice.

Blood was everywhere, but I didn't care. All that mattered was Winter. Rosalie slammed Alice out of the room when I had read her thoughts. No one had hunted for weeks and Alice didn't want to leave Winter alone while she was pregnant.

"Edward!" Carlisle snapped, causing me to look over at him. Winter's eyes were still shut. I knew what I had to do.

Carlisle nodded at me and I took Winter's small, limp wrist and brought it to my mouth.

Without thinking twice, I bit it.

It had been two days when I immediately grinned. Winter's transformation had been complete. She was a vampire.

Our twins, a girl and a boy. I hadn't named them yet, I wanted to talk with Winter to see what she wanted to pick out.

I flitted to the room they were keeping her in and smiled when I saw her sitting up, looking around.

"Hey," I said softly to her.

Her thoughts were different. Clearer, somehow. Beautiful.

"Hi." Her voice had never sounded clearer. There was honey, laced with velvet. Tinkling, almost.

I walked over to her, seeing how beautiful she really was. Not that she wasn't ever beautiful before, but being a vampire changed everybody.

My arms found her waist and I read her mind.

Kiss me, Edward.

I smiled a little bit. My lips had found hers. Her hands automatically went to my hair, tugging on it and I couldn't help but to let out a soft groan. Damn, the effect this woman had on me.

My grip on her waist tightened. I didn't have to be soft with her anymore. My strength didn't even seem to bother her, now that she was a vampire.

I pulled away from her and kissed her forehead. "Would you like to see the twins?" My voice was light. "We're going to have to hunt first."

She nodded and touched her throat.

Winter was amazing. She had hunted a grizzly bear and then a small elk. We were now running back home, when she passed me.

Damn.

We got to the house and smiled. "Let's go see them," I whispered to her.

We walked into the house, to see Alice holding our baby boy and Emmett holding our baby girl.

It looked strange, seeing her in Emmett's arms. He was this huge thing, and the baby was so tiny.

I heard a small gasp and let out a slight chuckle.

They're so beautiful. Came from Winter's thoughts.

"They are," I murmured. My arm snakes around her waist and I held her. "You can hold them."

She smiled and reached for the baby girl first, since she was closer. "What would you like to name her?" I asked. 

"Aurora Rose Cullen." She immediately responded. Like she had been practicing for a play and those were her lines.

I smiled. Aurora Rose Cullen. It sounded perfect.

"And what about the boy?" I asked.

"Arrow James Cullen."

My lips pulled up into an even wider smile.

Perfect. A family. A good family.

She held onto me and then switched from Aurora to Arrow.

We might all have our flaws in the end, but it didn't matter. All that mattered is that life is worth living for and it's worth it in the end. You just have to keep living it and never give up hope.

From around the corner, I heard Alice's soprano voice. "Happy birthday, Winter!"
