"I can't love you," he whispered to the female.

She stared at him in disbelief. After everything they had been through, all of his promises he told her, saying he would keep. "You can't be serious, Jacob," Leah whispered, her voice breaking.

Jacob only sucked in a sharp breath as he looked down at her. He chewed on his bottom lip and used his index and middle finger to hold her chin up. "I'm sorry...loving you is a losing game. It's just...you doesn't make me as happy as she does."

Leah scoffed at her Alpha in disbelief and looked up at him, roughly pulling her chin away. "Of course. Imprints always have to come first, don't they?" She snapped. A tear trickled down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away, trying not to show any indication that he was shattering her heart.

"I'm sorry, I don't have a choice."

"No!" She exclaimed. "Don't you dare say that. You had a choice, you HAVE a choice. You said you chose me, but you strung me along for two years and now, NOW after everything we've been through, you're saying that...that 'loving me is a losing game?!' No, Jake! You can't just lose feelings for me one day!" She cried out, biting on her tongue harshly to stop her tears. "You don't just fall out of love with me after everything that's happened, I don't believe that."

"I'm sorry, but I did, Lee." Jacob looked down at the shaking girl and sighed quietly, biting his tongue. She wouldn't phase, her emotions were to spread out to even tell what was happening. "I don't love you like I did. I love Nessie."

Leah turned her head away from him, looking at the green trees. "I'm leaving," she muttered. "And I'm not coming back." Leah took a deep breath and looked at the male. She spun on her heels and turned around, walking away.
