Fire courses through his veins from the venom of the snake. While it burned, it also left behind an icy numbness to his body as the venom travels. His heart pumped with adrenaline from the shock of it all, and it made the fire burn through his body faster.

"Leedo!" Hwanwoong screams, kneeling down by the Alpha and trying to lean him up, "Leedo what were you thinking!?"

"That's what we're supposed to do in a pack," Leedo mumbles, groaning as the fire burns harsher, "we protect one another no matter what."

"You idiot," Hwanwoong sobs, screaming once more for help through their pack link, but the pain was so intense Leedo didn't process what he was saying.

The alpha cries out as the fire took over half of his body, leaving a painful numbness in their wake from the damaged nerves. It was a sad effect from the venom of this particular snake, if the others don't hurry, he will be dead within the next hour. Suddenly, the world starts to spin and his vision starts to blur.

"Hwanwoong," he mumbles, "You're so... fuzzy-" his vision turns dark and his head falls back. He felt really heavy, so heavy he can't even lift his fingers or move his toes.

Hands grab him, some grab the area where he's been bitten. But he's so numb, he can't even feel it all he feels is the pressure from their touch. Voices were muffled, the only sound he can hear is his own heartbeat racing in his ears.

But then he didn't hear nothing, or feel nothing, at all.

As soon as Dongju heard Hwanwoong scream that Leedo was hurt, his blood ran cold. He was in the middle of helping Keonhee air out the fresh skins from their kills from yesterday when he heard it. At first he froze and didn't know what to do or to even think. But the second he felt that connected pain his Alpha was feeling, he bolted in the woods after Keonhee.

Racing as fast as he could, he ran past Keonhee and pushed himself to run faster. He had one thing on his mind and one thing only, his Alpha. When they arrive into the clearing where Leedo and Hwanwoong were, Dongju fell to his knees and cups Leedo's face, "Leedo? Leedo talk to me are you there?!"

Keonhee leans his head down to press his ear against the Alpha's chest, his brows furrow before he raises his head up quickly, "His heart is still beating but it's getting weak, we need to carry him back to my hut."

Dongju felt his chest caving in, it was suddenly getting harder to breathe and he felt so upset and angry about what just happened. Keonhee, along with Youngjo and Dongju, lift Leedo's limp body up and all three carry him back to the huts.

Leedo's body laid limp in their hold, and Dongju's chest felt heavier and heavier with each passing second. His alpha was dying, and it was slowly killing him too. Although he hasn't claimed Leedo, he can still feel the Alpha's pain and what his body is going through. His wolf had already attached itself to the Alpha's wolf, and it knows it's potential mate is dying.

It all was happening so fast. When they arrive to the huts Keonhee and Youngjo immediately settle Leedo into Keonhee's medical hut, laying him down on the makeshift bed of furs. Keonhee immediately gets to work on making a salve to settle on the bite, hoping it'll draw the poison out of Leedo's body before it's too late.

The thick, green paste was applied over the wound and Keonhee grabs a rag and ties it tightly around the salve. Leedo groans silently, his face scrunching up in pain and soon his back arches off furs. The scream that ripped through his throat shot chills down everyone's spine, and made Dongju's heart break and drop to his stomach.

He covers his mouth to hold in a sob he was feeling breaking through his chest, cupping Leedo's face, "Leedo, please calm down-"

Leedo screams again, his body seizing and thrashing against the furs. Youngjo and Keonhee hold him down to keep him from knocking the bandages off, Dongju presses a hand to the bandage as he thrashed and seized.

The screaming suddenly stopped, and Leedo's body was stiff but still arched on the furs, until slowly his body sinks into them and he visibly relaxed. Dongju's heart races, "Leedo? Leedo!?"

"It's okay Dongju," Keonhee places a hand on the Beta's back, "his body is reacting to the salve."

"Is he going to be okay?" Dongju worries, his eyes never leaving the Alpha's face.

"I'm not entirely sure... the snake that bit him according to Hwanwoong's side of the story, it was a very deadly and poisonous snake..." Keonhee sighs, dipping a piece of cloth in a bucket of water by the door and draining the excess. He then proceeds to place the cloth on Leedo's forehead, leaning his head down to listen to the Alpha's heart, "He's stable for now at least. He needs to rest, I'll keep an eye on him."

Dongju's chest felt heavy once more as the feeling of despair and anger takes over. He slowly looks over to Hwanwoong and stands, "You." Hwanwoong's eyes widen as the Beta stalks towards him his bright blue eyes pierce through the Omega cowering in fear, "You did this to him." Dongju snarls.

"I- I didn't do anything!" Hwanwoong exclaims, "Leedo was the one who saved me. He jumped in front of me to protect me from the snake biting me... I was just following Seoho, but he's gone now..."

"Wait, Seoho left?" Keonhee frowns, turning to Leedo's unconscious body before turning to Youngjo, "Youngjo he still isn't well, he needs to be brought back-"

"I'll find Seoho," the head alpha nods, looking over everyone before his eyes lock with Dongju's, "No one is to blame for what happened. It was an accident... and Leedo just proved himself to me and earned my respect and trust once more by protecting my mate. If he were to survive... you both have a spot in our pack once more."

Something clicked inside of Dongju, something that felt warm and fuzzy... almost as if his heart and mind were finally at peace with having a home again. It wasn't like his original family by any means, but it was still a home and these wolves were kind and generous to him.

The least he could do, was be thankful that at least they let Leedo and himself join the pack once more.
