Sam Uley- Secret: Part 1 (h)
As you were growing up, you were always told of a possibility of there being someone 'perfect' out there for you.
This 'perfect' person would be the one person that could make you happy, the one person that you could have your future with and effectively the one person that managed to complete your world.
Your Dad was an elder of the Quileute tribe that you and your siblings had grown up in, along with being Chief of the council, and therefore you had always been told about the Quileute legends.
The Quileute legends stated that this 'perfect' person was your imprint and would occur once a shifter has phased for the first time.
However, it was all legend.
Your two older sisters no longer lived in Forks with you, your brother Jacob and your Dad but you understood their reasons for not wanting to be in Forks.
For your second to last year of high school, your sister Rebecca had invited you to go out to Hawaii to stay with her and her husband Solomon.
You'd accepted her offer and had done a year of online school, which thankfully Forks High School had allowed.
With it coming up to the few days before you had to start your senior year, you had hugged Rebecca goodbye and boarded the plane to head back to Forks.
Jacob met you outside the airport, with a smile on his face and his arms already wide open to welcome you with a hug.
Once you'd managed to load your three rather large suitcases into the back of his truck, you went straight into your older brother's arms with a smile on your face.
"Hey little sister," he greeted you before pressing a kiss to the top of your head. "It's good to see you in person rather than through a screen."
You laughed at him as the two of you climbed into the truck. "It's good to see you too big brother."
The ride back to Forks was filled with you and Jacob joking back and forth between the two of you but you had noticed the difference in your brother to how he was when you left compared to now.
His previously long hair was now short and shaggy, and his frame had bulked out with muscle which wasn't very like Jacob.
As soon as you pulled up outside your house, you saw your Dad waiting for you on the porch.
Without bothering to grab your suitcases you ran straight to the porch to hug your Dad who chuckled once you'd flung your arms around his neck.
"Welcome back Y/N/N," he told you once you'd stood up from hugging him.
"It's good to be back Dad."
Jacob grunted as he pulled your suitcases out of the truck. "Oh, don't worry about me, I can handle all these by myself, sure I can."
You rolled your eyes at Jacob's complaining and moved to the side so that he could take your things back to your room.
"Is your sister sending the rest of your things back here?" your Dad questioned, knowing that you had much more than just three suitcases worth of belongings.
You smiled at him and nodded in confirmation. "Yeah Dad, Becca said she'd post me all the things I got whilst I was out there and anything else, I left."
When you walked through the house, you smiled to yourself at the familiarity and comfort of being home.
Soon enough, everything was unpacked, and you were sat with your Dad and Jacob in the living room chatting about your time with Rebecca and her husband.
"We've got a bonfire tonight little sister, are you coming along?" Jacob spoke up and asked you.
You nodded with a smile on your face. "Of course, I am, I've missed them so much."
The bonfires were held every couple of weeks or so and it was where the elders would recount the Quileute tribe legends to the rest of the tribe – it was a form of tradition and it meant that the legends were always in your head.
When everyone else had arrived, you and Jacob headed outside to where your Dad had set everything else up.
Jacob slung his arm around your shoulder as the two of you walked but immediately retracted it when he heard a growl from the circle.
Despite being confused at what had just happened, you made your way to sit down around the bonfire.
You felt someone's eyes on you and when you looked up, you saw Sam staring back at you.
Sam had never been a friend of Jacob's in the past, but he had always been present in the tribe.
He quickly got up, crossing the space between you and holding his hand out to you. "Hi, I'm Sam Uley."
You shook his hand with a smile on your face. "I know who you are Sam, but it's nice to see you again."
Confusion appeared on Sam's face whilst Jacob was chuckling. "That's my little sister Uley so make your next move accordingly."
Before you had a chance to say anything else to Sam, your Dad came over and reached up to hold your hand. "Everything okay Dad?"
He smiled, nodding his head in confirmation. "Yes darling, but it seems as if I need to have a chat with you and Mr Uley here."
It was then that you noticed the other elders and the rest of the tribe had all left – leaving only you, Sam and your brother and your father.
Your Dad motioned for the three of you to follow him back up to the house.
Jacob went to his room once you were all back inside whilst you and Sam sat down in the living room with your Dad.
"Y/N, you need to know that everything we have ever told you about our past is true."
"You mean the legends?"
Sam sighed. "They're not really legends Y/N – it all happened, it's all true and not many people know."
You turned to Sam in confusion. "Well why am I finding out now then? If it's not just legend, then why do you tell us?"
"You are his imprint my child," your Dad told you calmly. "And it is now your secret to bear."
