Quil Ateara- Imprint (h)

In some way you'd never understood why some guys would think it sensible to argue over some girl.

Granted if they had a crush then they might think they have some reason to argue – but at the end of the day, whichever girl they were arguing over was bound to get sick of it eventually.

Unfortunately, it was you in that situation.

You were aware of the pack as you were Sam's niece – you'd lived with him for just over a year, after your parents wanted to move, and adjusting to Forks was difficult to begin with but you'd grown to actually like the little town.

And just over three months ago, both Quil and Seth had imprinted on you.

Sam was angry to begin with and then he was trying to figure out the logistics of how two wolves could have the same imprint.

Ever since them imprinting, they'd been bickering about the tiniest of things, racing or wrestling in front of you to prove something.

It was most definitely getting on your nerves.

Seth was just too young for you and ever since you'd moved, you'd only seen him as a little brother – somewhat awkward considering Leah and your Uncle's history.

Quil had always been a friend of yours, as you had visited your Uncle in the summers before moving so it wasn't a difficult decision for you.

However, you weren't exactly a fan of them bickering for your attention.

Quil had come over after school, and the two of you had been holed up in the living room ever since.

"Are you going to stop bickering with Seth yet?" you quizzed Quil.

He sighed. "He doesn't give it a rest and he won't listen to me when I say that we are together."

"The only time he actually has a conversation with me is when you're not around," you told him. "And recently that is very far and few between."

He shrugged. "What can I say? You're my imprint and he's irritating."

"He thinks he imprinted on me too," you reminded him.

"And Sam is trying to figure that out," he ran his hand through your hair as he spoke. "But right now, we both know that you chose me, and Seth won't believe that."

You groaned at him. "I hate the fact that you two are basically fighting for my attention though," you complained. "And you two are just acting like idiots which I am not fond of."

Quil pulled you further into his arms. "Seth will cool off eventually."

Suddenly the door burst open, with the pack coming in all sweaty from their runs.

"Where's Emily's cooking?" you heard Paul questioning.

You laughed from your spot on the sofa and Quil made no attempts to move.

Paul appeared at your side before smiling at you and Quil cuddled up together. "Ah so Emily disappeared to give you two some time alone?"

Shaking your head, you laughed at Paul again. "She dragged Uncle Sam out shopping with her, and they knew Quil was coming over," you explained. "Uncle Sam didn't tell me that you guys would be appearing."

Jacob came over also, shrugging his shoulders. "Sam didn't tell us that you'd be in."

"I live here Jake," you told him. "Where else am I going to be?"

He chuckled, reaching over to ruffle your hair and then Quil's.

Seth appeared and looked somewhat upset at you with Quil, but you weren't about to let Quil hash it out with Seth in front of everyone.

You shot Paul a look and he got the message, sending you a wink before he spoke up. "Come on guys, these three need to have a chat."

Paul led the rest of the pack out of the front door whilst Seth stood looking hurt.

"So Quil was telling the truth huh?" Seth questioned.

You sighed. "How was I supposed to talk to you about it when you never wanted to be around me?"

"Sam told me I couldn't be, he doesn't believe that I imprinted on you."

"You didn't Seth," you told him. "Because if you did, you'd be acting very differently right now rather than just a bit upset."

Seth sighed. Sitting down on the coffee table.

You sat up to reach out to place your hand on his knee. "I know you had a crush on me last year, but you didn't imprint on me okay?"

"Look mate, I don't want you to be upset but at least you believe me about me and her being together."

Seth nodded, smiling at you both before leaving the house.

Quil exhaled what seemed to be a sigh of relief. "I hate that he's upset," he told you.

"Me too," you agreed with him. "But he'll get over it when he realises he was just having a bit of puppy love."

Quil smiled at you, before leaning down to kiss you. "And you, my dear, are my real love."
