Mike Newton- Sister (h)

You were fully aware that your brother didn't always approve of the boys you decided to date.

Somehow, he always had an opinion on whoever you wanted to be with.

They were never good enough for you, in his eyes, and that most definitely got on your nerves.

You loved your brother, of course you did, but he just didn't understand the fact that you were quite capable to make your own decisions.

Just because you were younger than him he thought that he had the right to boss you about.

He did not have that right at all.

Sure, he could input from time to time and try to suggest something helpful, but him dictating who you could see was a step too far.

Your boyfriend, who you had been with for six months, was Jacob Black – a guy from the reservation that you met through mutual friends.

Mike didn't like him because he was convinced that Jacob was involved with the wrong people, as he hung around with Sam Uley and the like and he had a motorbike.

Your parents were aware that you had arranged to go and stay at Jacob's for the weekend but you were yet to tell your brother.

When he found out, he went spare and started yelling that you weren't allowed.

He hadn't left you alone all day at school, and you were going to Jacob's straight after as it was a Friday.

"You're not going Y/N!"

You turned around to face your brother, reaching the front doors of the school with all of the students filing out. "You're not the boss of me Mike."

"I told you, you are not going," he repeated himself as he gently grabbed your arm despite him being annoyed.

You scoffed, shaking out of his grip. "And I told you, you are not the boss of me."

"If I said you're not going, then you're not."

"Mum and Dad already agreed you twat so I'm going whether you like it or not."

Mike sighed, following you as you went down the steps and saw Jacob already sat on his bike.

Jacob smiled at you when he saw you walking towards him.

"He's not right for you Y/N!" Mike called out as he continued to follow you.

"You don't get to decide that Mike," you reminded your brother, turning to face him once again.

"Well I'm deciding it. He is a bad guy. For god's sake, everyone knows that Sam Uley's gang does stupid shit and we don't need you getting hurt because of him."

Jacob then decided to stand up, handing you a helmet and facing your brother.

"You really think I would hurt her? How much of an idiot do you need to be?"

Mike was glaring at Jacob. "Me protecting my sister doesn't make me an idiot."

"I don't need protecting Mike," you stated. "I am old enough to make my own decisions. Can't you just understand that? I am not a little five-year-old that you need to take care of anymore, I am sixteen."

Mike was still shaking his head.

"I can make my own bloody decisions okay? If I want to go, then I will. If I want to date Jacob, then I will. If I want to get involved in some stupid shit, which I won't, then I can."

Jacob stepped back, pulling you over to the bike so you put on your helmet.

"Deal with it Mike. I'm not your precious baby sister anymore."
