Jasper Hale- Perfect Boyfriend: Part 1 (h)
You were beyond happy that your sister had decided to come and visit your and your Dad in Forks – you missed her, and you two had been close before you both had begun to live apart.
However, since she had decided to move to Forks for good, it hadn't exactly been plain sailing with her.
She'd been annoyed at the lack of people in Forks, and of course the fact that she had left her friends behind in Phoenix. You totally understood her annoyance, but she didn't understand that she'd be happier if she actually spoke to people.
Bella was older than you, and you loved her to pieces, but you had gotten to the point of not telling her certain things – like you having a boyfriend of over a year – because it would just give her reason to mope even more.
Of course, there was only one school in Forks, so Bella was starting there, and you were happy to finally be in the same school as your sister again.
You weren't in the same grade as your sister, because you were younger than her, but that also meant a lot of your friends – and your boyfriend – were also in the grade above you.
Once lunch rolled around, you walked into the cafeteria holding Jasper's hand along with the rest of his siblings.
You noticed Bella staring at you, and you couldn't be surprised considering she didn't know about Jasper being in your life.
"Why is that girl staring at us?" Rosalie quizzed, once you'd all sat down.
You sighed, turning to face her. "Remember how I mentioned that my sister was moving back here? Yeah, well, that's her and I conveniently forgot to tell her that I had a boyfriend."
Emmett was chuckling away and leant over to high five you, whilst Edward and Jasper had smirks on their faces.
"And, you know, I didn't mention the fact that it's not just humans who live here in Forks."
Edward then nodded in acknowledgment, but his eyes flicked over to Bella as she began to walk over to your table.
She eventually got to stand next to you, so you looked up at her.
"Hey Y/N."
You smiled in response. "Hey Bells, how's your first day going?"
"A little disorientated but I'm finding my way," she told you with a smile of her own. "But how come I didn't know about your friend?"
She looked pointedly at Jasper, who had his arm around your waist.
"Apologies for Y/N not telling you, but I'm Jasper – and these are my siblings, Alice, Rosalie, Emmett and Edward."
They all acknowledged Bella with a nod, causing Bella to smile somewhat nervously.
"It's nice to meet you all."
"I've been with Jas just over a year Bells."
A flash of hurt crossed Bella's face. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
You sighed, getting up and grabbing Bella's hand so that the two of you could talk outside.
"You seem so happy with him and yet I only find out now?"
You ran a hand through your hair out of awkwardness. "Bells, I haven't seen you in at least two years. When I came for Christmas last year, you weren't there, and I didn't tell anyone about Jasper because we were still early days back then," you began to explain. "And since then, I just never thought to tell you."
"Does Dad know?"
You had to fight to roll your eyes. "Of course, Dad knows. He lets me stay with the Cullens at the weekends, and over the holidays if I want to."
"He's that laid back?"
You shrugged your shoulders. "He wasn't to begin with, but he likes Jasper and his family."
Bella sighed, but pulled you into a hug. "I just wish you'd told me sooner."
When the two of you pulled away, you looked at Bella and smiled. "Yeah, well you're here now and that means we can gossip till the early hours like we used to."
Bella then glanced behind you, and you turned to see Jasper stood there so Bella went back inside.
Jasper pulled you into his arms before pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
"Is everything okay?"
You nodded in response, pulling away to look up at him.
"How did she take it?"
"She was more surprised that my Dad doesn't hate you."
Jasper chuckled. "Oh, he did at the beginning, threatened me with his shotgun and everything."
You laughed at the memory, but you knew now that your Dad couldn't have wanted anyone better for you.
Jasper knew you like the back of his hand and he never failed to be there for you when you needed him – he was practically the perfect boyfriend.
"He couldn't ask for a better son-in-law."
Jasper chuckled, keeping his arms around your waist. "I'm not marrying you yet."
You smiled up at him. "Oh, I know, something about wanting to be respectable and not before I graduate – which is another two years away!"
"Yes, but you know what comes after marriage Y/N."
"I can't wait."
