You couldn't deny the fact that you weren't always comfortable around people, it unnerved you that you couldn't always figure out their intentions or how they really felt towards you.

It was someone being two faced that made you worried, you had had that happen to you before and you knew full well how horrid it felt.

Plus, crowds really weren't your thing, it helped to have someone you knew with you but when you'd transferred to the school on the La Push reservation over two years ago you knew no one.

Luckily for you, you met Embry and he'd imprinted on you – of course you didn't know what that was at first but when the tribe elders had explained, and you were accepted it all made sense.

Embry and you had been together ever since. You'd heard some people around school and the res comment how different you and Embry were, he practically towered over you as he was over a foot taller and he had quite a good group of friends whilst the only friends you really had were Embry's friends.

"Hey there cutie," Embry greeted you at the front of the school, wrapping his arm around your shoulder so you were pulled into his side.

He greeted his other friends who you had been stood with, including Jacob and Quil who often kept an eye out for you.

You smiled up at him and welcomed his kiss, but the bell rang so you all headed inside.

As Embry stood with you at your locker, him chatting to Jacob over the top of your head, you heard the girls opposite you snickering and whispering amongst themselves whilst they looked straight at you.

"Bet he wanted a girlfriend and instead he got a pathetic little puppy," one of the girls said just loud enough for you to hear.

You watched as her friends all giggled and nodded in agreement.

"It's sad really," one of the others chimed in as she stared right at you. "How she clings to him, he'll get fed up eventually."

Embry felt you grab his shirt and looked down at you to see your eyes shining but both him and Jacob followed your eye line to where the girls were still giggling and whispering, not having noticed that the boys were looking over at them.

"If only she knew it will be us having pups one day," Embry whispered in your ear before nodding at Jacob and the two quickly stood in front of you.

The group of girls looked to tease you again but instead saw Embry and Jacob staring back at them with you peeking out from behind Embry's back.

"It's funny how they think we don't hear them, eh Jake?" Embry commented whilst crossed his arms.

Jacob chuckled and mimicked Embry's posture.

"I'd appreciate it if you all kept your noses out of mine and my girlfriend's business," he stated as he stared at the girls. "My girlfriend is the only girl I want, never mind what you all think of her, so take that as your warning."

The girls all looked properly chastised, moving quickly to grab their things and making the right choice to not say anything back.

Jacob and Embry both stepped away from you and got smiles on their faces when they saw you giggling. "What's gotten into you cutie?"

"I think they deserved it," you stated as you intertwined your fingers with Embry's. "Plus, you two suit being guard dogs."
