You kept your eyes fixated on the tv in front of you, watching your reflection closely. Your servants had made mention of how doing such a thing was unhealthy, but you paid them no mind. They act like there was something else you could be doing. You were still in your pj's from last night, but your hair was no longer all messy and untamed.
Caius had kept you locked up in your room for the past months, not wanting you to freely roam after the last incident that occurred in the castle.
A newborn had gotten free from their trainer, and was quickly drawn to your scent, and tried to attack you. Felix caught up and apprehended the vampire, but you were left with a bruise on your arm, and a broken wrist. You understood being kept out of sight for a few days, but a whole month was too much. Especially when one month turned into three. Plus, he refused to speak on the subject of allowing you to freely roam around once again, or lift some of the restrictions off of you. He made it very difficult for you to grow comfortable here.
Along with that, he stopped coming by to visit, only having a guard of servant give you a note that would greet you in the morning. You felt completely isolated and alone. It bothered you to no end, and you wished to be free from this whole Castle completely.
One night though, when you knew the guards would be busy with a trial being held in the evening, you took the chance to slip out the room by picking the lock. It wasn't hard. The locks had been there for years, never being replaced. Of course Caius planned having them replaced, but that hadn't happened yet, thank god.
You sighed, grateful no guards were posted at your door.
You had known of this trial for the past week, so you grew accustomed to going to sleep around six so your guards would be comfortable leaving their post, believing you'd be asleep tonight. You rushed down the hall, and toward the elevator. You got in, and pressed the main door button.
Sighing, trying to calm your heartbeat, you sucked in a deep breath. Once you get to the main floor, you'd be able to leave the castle through the clocktower doors. You scanned the floor, and noticed the secretary busy typing away to notice you walking by. You were glad she didn't see you, knowing she'd be punished severely if Caius learned of her allowing you to leave.
The fresh air hits you, causing your eyes to close and your body to still. Closing the door behind you softly, you walked down the steps before running off into the city.

You laughed like a madman with your hand to your chest, looking over at the castle in the far distance. The clock tower has lights circling the clock, so through the fog you knew you had gotten pretty far. No doubt the trial was over, and the whole coven would be alerted of your disappearance by now, but you didn't care. You were angry with Caius.
He kept you locked up, didn't make time for you, and made you feel like a prisoner in a place you were supposed to call home. Wiping the tears from your cheek, you turned to go look at some of the gift shops that were still opened.
You bummed softly as you walked down the side way, and smiled. A small shop was in front of you, and you could see through the window some of the isles of toys.
You loved stuffed animals, so you wanted to go look around before they closed. Crossing the street, you wave at a car that lets you cross. You never knew it would feel this good to leave a place, and be free from the same faces.
You walked past an alley, and frowned, noticing a figure just standing there. Your heartbeat increased as you knew your time was coming to an end.
Before you could pick up your pace, a hand grabbed your arm and pulled you into the alleyway, covering your mouth in the process so no one would hear you yell. Through teary eyes, you concentrated on the boy in front of you. Alec held a gentle gaze at you, as he slowly removed his gloved hand from your mouth.
"Apologies, (y/n), I hope I did not cause you any harm." He said, backing up from you, allowing you to breathe and gather yourself. You noticed Jane right beside him, and frowned. Of course the twins would be the ones to come after you.
"Did you forget where the restroom was again, your grace?" Jane questioned. Her eyes looking you over, checking for any injuries.
Huffing, you turned to walk away. "No. Now please, leave me alone."
"You know we can't do that." Alec replied.
Jane stepped forward, and glared. "Either you come willingly, or we'll drag you there by force." She threatened you.
"You wouldn't" - "We would if we must. Caius has given us permission to use our gifts if necessary." Your heart stopped, of course he'd go that far.

You watched Caius pace the floor of your room, uttering words of how reckless you are. Making mentions on how you could have died, been gutted, or forced by another man to do things.
You wanted so badly to just lay down and ignore him, but the fight was still left in you.
"So I'm safe here? Locked in a room? The same room where a vampire got in, and tried to kill me? Nearly succeeding if it weren't for Felix saving me. But the world is far more dangerous?! Ha! I've been hurt here more times than I have by the outside world. At least out there the people who claim they love me actually show it!" You yelled at him, taking the vase on your nightstand that held your one year anniversary flowers, and chunking them at him.
He ducked out of the vase's way, watching as it collided with the wall and fell to many pieces on the floor below him. You hadn't realized what you'd done until his eyes met yours. He looked absolutely hurt, and backed away from you. He walked over to the door, still shocked by your outburst.
"My dear, I have never used physical violence towards you...-"
"Yet you've neglected me, pushed me aside, and kept me in a room like a prized doll in a case. Do not try to make yourself look like the victim here, Caius." You cut him off, stepping over the vase pieces and going into the bathroom. Slamming the door shut, you slid down it, and cried.
You knew he hadn't left the room. The sound of shuffling outside the restroom door could still be heard, and glass clinking against glass. Frowning, you stood and opened the door. Caius cleaned up the mess, making sure he got every piece of glass before moving your trash can out of the room to have someone take care of the bag.
He came back in, and closed your door. He looked you over, and rushed to your side. "My dear, I am fully aware of my actions, and I apologize for making you feel that way. It was never my intention. I thought if I kept you out of sight, and far from where the guards would be, no one would be able to harm you, not knowing I was the one causing you true harm." He sincerely spoke, leaning in to kiss you on the cheek.
You sighed, leaning into his touch. "You can't keep me locked up Caius...please." You quietly beg, closing your eyes, allowing yourself to be vulnerable in front of him.
You felt him bring you into his arms, and place a hand on the back of your head. "It's the only way.." He replied, sounding so sure of himself.
"No." You protest, pulling away from him. "If you don't find another way, then I will not allow you or anyone here to turn me, and I'll die. Leaving you alone. I refuse to live the rest of my human days locked up. I want to live before I'm trapped in an immortal body." ~
