👑👸🏽🏰PENELOPE VOLTURI🏰👸🏽👑
........................................................................
The sun rose over the hills, and filled the sky with its warm, bright glow. In a field of flowers, inside the walls of Volterra Castle, laid Penelope Volturi. The daughter of Aro and Sulpicia Volturi. The sun kisses her pale skin, causing the glow of diamonds to be seen. She’d successfully made it out the castle without a guard stopping her, due to today being a trial. Usually they’d tell her that she had to stay up in the tower, Master's orders. Blah! Blah! Blah! Penelope didn’t care, she just wanted to run freely, but with her family's reputation, she knew her father feared someone hurting her. Though he’d never admit it out loud. The century old vampire silently wished that the sun still had an effect on her, just like it did when she was human. She missed the warmth it gave her during cold winter days. Sighing, she closed her eyes, and allowed her ears to listen to the nature around her. Her long and curly eyelashes could be felt tickling her cheeks as she allowed a peaceful smile to cross her face. - “No!” a scream could be heard coming from the castle, interrupting her alone time. Her red velvet eyes snapped open, and she got up. Irritation clear in her face as she stormed to the throne room. Opening the back doors, that would lead you to the main hall, she enters and locks it behind her. Just in case any foolish humans decided to come and explore the old castle. Making her way through the gloomy, cold corridors, she could hear all the commotion coming from the Throne room. The sound of marble breaking, caused Penelope to roll her eyes. She hated when there was a trial. It was always too noisy in the castle.
Penelope walks in right as soon as Felix slams someone in a red cloak, into the steps. Breaking them in the process. The sound of a heart thumping loudly against a chest, caused Penelope to look in the center of a room and see a human girl.
“No! No! No! Please, please!” The human girl yells, alerting your father. She is grabbing her hair and pulling as her words come out. Aro puts his hands up, stopping Felix from ripping the man's head off, and advances towards the girl.
“Kill me, not him.” She offered her life, causing Penelope's eyes to widen in shock. A human exchanging their life for a mere soulless creature? Sighing, she made her way towards her father, who had yet to notice her intrusion. - “Such bravery, I must admit. You are quite the catch.” Penelope taunts, winking towards Felix, who smirks right back at the princess. Aro’s eyes meet his daughters, and a smile graces his face.
“I thought I told you to stay in the tower with your mother, child?” Aro said, turning towards his stubborn daughter, who stood next to a smiling Jane. Penelope allowed her hands to mess with the blonde childs hair, causing Jane to purr in the process. Humming, Penelope looked up and met her father's gaze. - “You did father, but I simply disobeyed your orders.” She said, going right back to redoing Jane’s hair. Being a couple centuries older than the twins, she took them in as her own. Loved them like a mother, and they loved her as one too. Penelope looked over at Alec, who was standing next to Demetri. His eyes said everything, he wanted to be near her. Penelope smiled, and waved her son over. Instantly Alec was by his mother's side. He grabbed hold of Jane’s hand as they awaited Aro’s next move.
“Well since you are here, daughter, I’d like to ask your advice on this trial.” Aro began, turning back around, looking at the boy in red. -”Young Edward here has revealed our secret to this...mortal, and doesn’t plan to turn her into one of us. Tell me, daughter, what should we do?” A smirk covered Penelope's faces, as she rested her hands on Jane’s shoulders.
“Father, what silly question to ask me. You already know what you plan to do. She knows too much, and since this boy does not plan to turn her. We simply can not risk letting her back out into the world.” She began looking between the human and Edward.
“Therefore, I believe she should either be killed, turned, or kept here until this childish boy decides to follow through with something that is more pleasing to your ears, but that is just my opinion father. I am not the Queen, but I know you’ll make a wonderful choice concerning the matter.” Penelope sarcastically finished, causing the guards in the room to let out chuckles. She knew that no matter what she said, Aro would go with his own ideas. That’s how he was with his own ruling mates, so why should he be any different with her? Aro smiled, and went to speak, but was cut off by the pixie.
“I have seen it, Bella will be one of us. I’ll change her myself if I have to.” She spoke up, hand out awaiting Aro to take it. Aro rushes over, and grabs her hand, as Demetri releases her. It is quiet for a few moments, as Penelope takes this time to walk over towards her uncles throne. - “This is ridiculous! Your father is going to let them go. He is such a fool at times.” Caius hissed, holding out his hand and allowing the girl to sit on the arm of his throne. - “I know dear Uncle. I can already tell, but hey. Don’t let it bother you, there's always next time with these types of vampires.” She winked, causing a smirk to form on Caius’s face.
♡♡♡
And boy was dear Penelope right, because here they were once again, on trial once more.
Only this time, they broke the law by creating an immortal child. Penelope stayed in the far back, with her mother and Aunt Athenadora. Sulpicia held her daughter's hand, as she looked ahead at the Cullens and their witnesses. - “If anything happens. Leave. Don’t turn back, just keep running.” She whispered in her daughter's ear, causing the vampire to smirk. - “I should be saying the same to you mother. Besides, I will fight alongside my children.” Penelope said, knowing all the vampires in the clearing could hear their conversation. Hooking her arm with her mother, she kissed Sulpicia’s cheek. Looking forward, Penelope eyed the same couple that stood before her father, and uncle's throne not that long ago, came forward with a little girl clinging to them. She watched the child closely, and could hear her heartbeat, and sense the blood that flowed through her veins. Indeed the child wasn’t fully immortal, but she didn’t voice her thoughts. Seeing as her Uncle was doing enough of that.
“Impossible!” Caius hissed, causing Aro to look back with a curious look.
“You think they’ve fooled me brother?” Penelope smirked at the face Caius made towards her father. Feeling intrigued, she unhooks her arm from her mothers, and walks forward. Edward sees her coming, and tenses. Unsure what the princess was going to say. She could easily persuade her father in fighting them, and that wouldn’t be good for his family. Edwards' shoulders slightly relax as he watches the woman lean down to Reneesme’s height and smile.
“Hello darling, may you please show me what you showed my father?” She spoke softly, causing the small child to smile up at the vampire in delight. Reneesme placed her hand on Penelope’s cheek, and looked into her eyes.
Silence filled the whole field. It was rare that anyone saw the princess. So to know that she was here, and wasn’t afraid to make an order that her father would be forced to go through with, scared them.
Standing straight up, Penelope smiled down at the child in amazement. - “How extraordinary. You are simply one interesting child.” Penelope allowed her hand to go under the child's chin, and her thumb to graze her cheek softy. Catching the gaze of the girl's parents, Penelope smiled and turned to her coven.
“I see no threat here father, nor is this child a true immortale. She came from the womb. So, there really has been no law broken.” Penelope shrugged, catching a glimpse of Caius’s furious face. Placing her hand on the blonde king's arm, she smiled calmly at him. - “We shall not fight.Today.” Looking at her father, she nodded and sped off. Her mother and Aunt followed suit. Aro gave his own signal to leave, and the guards left.
♡♡♡
‘Mother, why did you give the order for us to leave? We could have easily destroyed the Cullen clan once and for all.” Jane half growled as Penelope brushed her long chestnut hair. Her family was not pleased with the order to not fight, but. The Cullens were in fact innocent. Sighing, she placed her rose gold brush down and patted the spot next to her. Signaling Jane to sit. Penelope moved a few strands of hair out of Jane's face, as she leaned in and kissed her child's forehead. Jane visibly relaxed at her mother's touch, leaning in to lay her head on Penelope’s shoulder.
“Because my dear. It is my job to insure my coven's protection, and not let my father put my dearest children in harm's way.” Penelope responded, causing Jane to look up with eyes full of wonder, and love. - “..and I am also not only your mother, but the Princess. Someone has to make sure the innocent are protected, right?” She asked, brow raised and her famous smirk plastered on her face. Jane nodded, hating that her mother stuck up for the Cullens, but understood that Penelope was a just judge and would never punish someone if they didn’t actually break the law. ~
