Astoria was born during a time of trial and conflict between the downworlders and the shadowhunters. A time where a peace accord was to be signed in order to maintain order and peace amongst the plenty. But a group known as "The Circle" did not agree to this peace treaty. Their leader, Valentine, lead his group into the many homes and realms of different creatures, slaughtering them and causing chaos for the Shadowhunters.

Valentine had finally fallen, and was killed by the brotherhood. But he wasn't the only one who met the grave. Astorias parents both fell in the battle against him. Leaving behind their one year old daughter in the hands of a mundane they had befriended.
