Imagine : Caius's daughter is caught sneaking in early in the morning after spending the night out without his permission

Harlynn sat in the bay window in her room. Her blonde hair hung limp and straight against her back since she straightened it that morning. Her outfit was covered by her long black bathrobe. She held a book in her hands reading it, just like she did every night before bed. Only this time, she wasn’t paying attention to the words that littered the page, instead her mind was occupied between if she should or shouldn't do something.

On Monday, her friend announced that her parents would be out of town that weekend. Not surprisingly, word got around the high school quickly and a party was planned. She wanted to go, she wanted to see how humans partied because the balls that her Uncle Aro would throw were dull and lifeless. The dances were of the ballroom variety, the music was classical, waiters would walk around with champagne glasses of blood and champagne. She heard the stories on how teens her age would drink, dance, and have one night stances with a stranger. She longed to be a normal teen but she knew asking her father or uncles for permission to go would have ended disastrously. Her only option was to sneak out and be back before sunrise.

Only problem, she lived in a castle filled with vampires that heard everything and would rat her out so they weren’t tortured by the witch twins. Oh what was a girl to do?

Jane entered the princess’s chambers and bowed, “Princess, it is nearly your bedtime. I have come to help you get ready.”

Harlynn’s blue eyes drifted over to the mistress of pain, “I would like to get ready on my own tonight.”

Jane eyed the princess, she had always helped her get ready for bed since she was found wandering around the castle looking for her parents. “Very well then,” Jane bowed respectfully and left the room locking the princess’s bedroom doors. A rule your paranoid father put in place. He remembered faintly what it was like to be a teenager and he was always afraid you would do something.

Harlynn waited for 45 minutes, she knew a lesser guard would be outside her door standing guard. She made up her mind, she was going out tonight, come hell or high water. She discarded her robe revealing her ivory and rose dress and grabbed her heels from the closet before throwing on some makeup before she went out onto the balcony. She climbed down the wooden fence that was covered in vines, praying that no one caught her. Her feet met the grass and she moved amongst the shadows of the wall looking for a tree near the garden wall that she could use. She found a sturdy oak that she used to climb when she was ten, its branches went over the wall. Harlynn smiled and bolted for the tree.

“Going somewhere principessa?” a voice called out nearly making her fall from the branch. Her blue eyes scanned the area to see the tracker, Demetri, standing with a knowing smirk on his handsome face.

Harlynn panicked she wasn’t even off of the castle's lawn when she got caught. “This isn’t my room,” Harlynn said with a light laugh, “I’ll get going now.”

Demetri was on the branch next to her within a blink of the eye, his hand firmly on her wrist. A silent sign that she wasn’t going anywhere until she answered him. “Where are you going?”

With a sigh, she looked down before she replied, “To a party.”

Demetri chuckled, “Does your father know?”

The princess replied with a shake of her head in the negative. Demetri chuckled again, “Well I didn’t see you and I have a phone call for exactly 20 minutes.”

Harlynn looked up at the prized tracker as he smiled and hopped down for the branch heading back to the castle on the phone. She scaled the tree and jumped the wall putting her high heels on and navigated through the winding streets until she got to her destination.

Music boomed loudly from the speakers. Teens were drinking, playing beer pong at the dining room table. Others paired off and made out in the corners and on the couches. Harlynn was dancing with a boy she couldn’t remember the name of in the center of the room. She drank and had so much fun forgetting that she needed to be home early so her dad didn’t find out. She crashed at her friend's house after the party ended too tired and too intoxicated to go home.
Harlynn woke up to the sun shining in her eyes. She rolled over groaning thanks to the pounding in her head, courtesy of the alcohol she had consumed the night before. She was about to fall back asleep but a little voice screamed inside her telling her she had stayed out all night. Harlynn bolted upright not paying attention to the throbbing in her head and ran home, praying that no one had tried to wake her yet. She entered the front doors of the castle only to be grabbed by Alec and dragged to the throne room where three very angry vampires sat on their thrones.

Alec let go once she was in the center of the room and moved to the side by his sister. Harlynn stared at the floor, hoping it would open up and swallow her. She knew her father’s anger very well.

“Harlynn Volturi,” her father said calmly, making her look up at the platinum blonde king only to see the raging inferno in his milky red eyes, “you’re grounded until the end of the century.”
