🕊Fly Away - Reader X Carlisle🕊

Imagine:  Imagine being the sister of Caius, and the ex-lover of Carlisle.

Carlisle stared up at the canopy hanging above your bed. The crackle of a fire keeping him entertained as he laid there, the King's sister curled up to his side.

Neither of them could sleep, but they laid, each naked in one another's arms. Enjoying one another's presence.

Her hand trailed up his chest, and rested on his chin, she rose and placed a kiss to his lips. Gentle at first, but it soon turned heated.

"Mio caro," Carlisle breathed, pulling away. "I must confess something."

You frowned at the tone on his voice, and pulled the sheets with you as you sat up. Nodding for him to continue.

Carlisle sat up against the headboard, avoiding eye contact for a moment before locking eyes with you.

"Aro, Caius, and Marcus have accepted my pardon. I am free to leave the Volturi, and go out to start anew." He said softly, watching you closely.

He didn't see what he expected, but he knew his words hit you hard.

"I suppose you hope to also find your mate, huh?" You asked, raising a brow at the man.

Carlisle hesitated for a moment, but nodded his head with a sad smile. Knowing there was no point in him lying to you. "Yes, I do." He replied.

You quickly rose to your feet, your body on full display due to the sheet slipping down, and hitting the stone floor. You moved over to where your night dress was discarded. Slipping it on, the spaghetti strings hung loosely on your shoulders.

"I guess all good things do truly come to an end." You finally speak, looking at the man who has warmed your bed for the past centuries. Of course you did so behind your brother, Caius, back, but even that fool learned of your affairs with the vegan vampire. Taking a wine bottle filled with blood, you poured you a glass and downed it in seconds.

"Well then, Carlisle Cullen. This is where you leave." You don't even look at him, you can't.

You felt the shift in the room, and his intoxicating scent vanished.

The glass broke beneath your grip, and you let out a sob, though no tears came.
