- 🤍🕊 Esther Swan🕊🤍 -
(Something I wrote and wanted to share)
Esther tapped her finger against the wood of the table. Her mind was far from where her body was. For while she sat at the Cullens table, her mind was imagining herself in a room she had never been. It was an odd sensation she was experiencing. It was as if she could teleport in her mind. So clear; so vivid. She could feel what she touched in this vision like state. She giggled softly to herself, and moved to another room in the vision.
She noticed a picture hanging from the wall, the one Carlisle had in his study of the three male vampires. Whom she recalled were vampire royalty. She eyes the painting, hand slowly reaching up to touch the one in the middle.
He was smaller than the two standing beside him, and looked to hold more authority. "Aro," she whispered, looking at the other two. "Caius, and Marcus." She recognized the names from an old conversation she overheard Carlisle having with Esme, and knew these men were them.
They were attractive, maybe a little too attractive to her. She felt a tug in her heart, and closed her eyes while placing a hand to her chest.
A knock on the door causes Esther to open her eyes. She looked around, noticing she had been walking around the house all day in her vision. She didn't know what to call it.
Maybe an illusion? Looking at the time, it read six-thirty.
Setting her feet on the floor, she moved to the front door. She could hear the sound of a beating heart, and smell the blood coursing through the persons body. Only being a newborn for two weeks, she knew this was going to be a challenge, but whoever was on the other side could need help.
Opening the door, she was met with the brown eyes of Bella Swan.
Her sister. "Bella." Esther gasped, stepping back, but nodding for the girl to come in. Bella was staring on in fear at the change in her sister's appearance, and eyes. Red eyes were not a Swan inheritance. Bella cautiously walked in, keeping a reasonable distance from her little sister as Esther closed the door.
"I know you may have a lot of questions." She begins, locking the door. Not meeting the awaiting, fearful gaze of Bella.
She felt ashamed in the moment. She knew this wasn't her fault, but still, she never wanted this life. She wanted to die, preferably old in a cabin surrounded by sunflowers. A silly dream, but while she was still so young, she had a reason to have such dreams.
Looking at Bella, she noticed a tear slip down the girls face. "Who did this to you? Victoria?" She questioned in a somber voice. Looking Esther up and down.
Esther stepped forward, and placed her hands in front of her, picking at her nail as she spoke. "I don't know. A man broke in two weeks ago, and thought I was Jaspers lover, and did this to, hurt him I guess." Esther explained, looking away while placing her hands at her side.
"Dad sent me. He hasn't had a call nor text from you, and you hadn't been replying to my texts. I figured you were just upset as I am about their absence, but-" Bella began chocking on her words, and turned away from Esther. She sat on a chair, and pulled at her hair. "I have to tell them. You have to- have you?" Bella asked, looking up.
Esther was still. That wasn't something she ever contemplated. Shaking her head, she sat across from Bella in a chair. "No. I forgot all about that being a necessity." She admits, sucking in her bottom lip that still held the taste of blood on it.
Bella stayed silent, and looked down. Her eyes looked up at her sister once more, and noticed how much more filled out she was. Frowning, Bella began to feel insecure in the presence of her little sister. She was beautiful. Her skin was perfect, no pimples nor wrinkles.
Her eyes were a scarlet red, and yet she still appeared innocent to Bella. Her skin, though pale, was smoother and porcelain like. Her lips were plumped, and rosy. She looked like a statue carved by the gods.
In that moment Bella knew exactly what Pandora would have looked like.
"Well, are you going to do so?" Bella asked, wanting to know. Maybe if they learned Esther was attacked, they'd return home in fear of Bella being in danger?
No, Bella thought.
They'd only return to pamper Esther in love, and feel pity, and continually apologize for leaving her. They'd take her, have her leave with them, not giving me a passing glance. They always did favor her. Since the moment they met her.
"No, I don't know. I don't want them to worry about me. There's plenty of blood bags here to help get my thirst under control, and they said I could be here as long as I want. So I'll just keep it a secret. For now."
Esther knew if she did say anything. Jasper would demand to come back, leaving on his own if he must. Alice would follow, and even Emmet and Rose. Splitting the family up even more, and she didn't want that. No, she couldn't do that.
-"and don't you go saying anything Bella. I mean it." She growled a bit in her warning, not meaning to, but she knew Bella was itching to tell them.
Bella looked a bit upset, but nodded. "I won't. She replies. Looking at the wall of graduation caps, by the steps. "Have you heard from them?"
Esther bit her lip, and shook her head. Lie, she heard her conscious immediately shoot back at her. But she knew it was for the best. She saw the sadden look creep back into Bella's eyes, and felt herself frown.
"Not since they left, sorry."
Bella nodded, running her hands down her pant leg. She was ready to leave, not really seeing any reason to stay. "Esther, I'm gonna head back home. Call me?" She asked a bit awkwardly, not sure how to word her question. She wanted Esther safe, and her being here was the better option of any. They couldn't risk Charlie learning of her and the Cullens immortality, due to the danger therein.
Nodding Esther stands, and smiled. "Of course. If it gets dad off our backs." She jokes, moving to open the door for Bella. "Be safe Belly-Bells. I love you." She says, her brows lifting as she gives a sad smile.
Bella looks at her sister and returns the smile. "I love you more, Queen Esther." Bella called her by her nickname as well, the one Renee would go on about when they were younger.
Bella walked to her truck, and got in. Sitting back, and letting out a deep sigh. She felt worried, angry, and depressed all in one setting. Worried for her sister, angry that she got to experience what she wanted, no, longed for, and depressed because of the emptiness within the Cullen home. It was too quiet, no Esme to greet her, nor Alice to rush to hug her.
Looking back at the Cullen house, Bella could see Esther moving up the stairs. Reaching into her pocket, she pulls her phone out and goes to a draft saved in her mail.
To Alice Cullen @ 7:45 pm
Alice,
I came over to check on Esther. Charlie and I hadn't heard from her in two weeks. Her eyes were red, skin pale and cold to the touch. She's not human, but a vampire- someone came, and did this because they wanted revenge.
Bella groaned, and started the truck up. Heading back to the house, she heard a bing come from her phone. Once she pulled into the driveway, next to Charlie's cruiser, she checked her phone.
It was an email from an unknown sender. Frowning, Bella opened the email and looked through it. There wasn't much information on who sent it, so she figured it was a scam artist at work. She saw a file needed to be downloaded to receive what was attached, so she allowed the process to go through so she could see the image. Hoping she wasn't being scammed. Once the image finished, she could look at it. Her eyes widened. It was a picture of her truck outside the Cullen household. She zoomed the picture in, and saw Esther and her saying goodbye at the door.
The words, "isn't my creation lovely?" Attached.
Before she could do anything else, another email came in. This time, it was from Alice. Quickly opening it, she read what Alice had said.
From Alice Cullen @ 7:51 PM
Bella get out of Forks, now! Don't worry about Esther, Jasper, Rose, and Emmett are already heading that way to get her. Esme and Carlisle will meet you in Twenty minutes in Seattle. Follow the directions attached to this email, and leave the very moment you receive this email.
I will speak when I can.
Sorry for everything.
Love, Alice.
Bella swallowed the lump that formed in her throat, and looked up at the house. One light was on, and it was in the living room. Making her mind up, she restarts her engine, and backs out of the driveway, her finger clicking on the directions given to her by Alice. "What did the Cullens do?" Bella asked herself quietly, taking on a deep breath to remain calm. Her heart was racing , and she felt scared.
Victoria already wanted her dead, now this man, whoever he was, was after her sister and her?
