🤝A Deal's a Deal - Volturi Kings🤝
My heart beat rapidly in my chest, causing me to easily lose breath trying to catch up with my father. He seemed in a rush, and I didn't understand why. Every now and then he'd look back to see if I was still behind him, and If I were too far back, then he'd grab my hand, and practically drag me through the halls of this ancient castle.
I wish he understood that it's hard to walk fast in heels. I groaned quietly to myself as I lifted my dress up a bit to step into an elevator. My father quickly pressed down on the floor, that would take us down. I could see him shaking a bit, and tapping his foot, he probably was anxious.
"Father, what is going on?" I pressed, gaining his attention. His eyes held an emotion I could not put my finger on. Guilt, maybe? But why would he be guilty?
"Nothing mio caro, we are just here on some business." That was all he said before turning back his gaze toward the elevator doors and continuing his tapping.
The elevator dinged, opening to reveal an immaculate and bright secretary area.
At the desk sat a woman, who stood to greet us as she saw us exit the elevator. She was a beautiful red haired, young female, who looked to be in her early twenties. She smiled cheerfully, and spoke in a foreign language that I could not understand, but my father seemed to understand perfectly fine.
"Ah, the masters are expecting the two of you," She said in broken English, looking down at her computer and typing something in before waving us on.
"Come along Aaliyah," My father says, turning to round the lady's desk and enter a pretty dark hallway that sent shivers down my spine. Something didn't feel right about this place. She mentioned, masters? What type of.......no, this can't be a drug trade....can it? I swallowed hard as I began to feel myself panicking. My father, he couldn't be into drugs, and what does all of this have to do with me?
We approached two, double doors that seemed to be opened automatically by two men in black, as if they were expecting us. I could sense my fathers urgency calm down and be replaced with nervousness, and fear, as he slowly made his way toward the center of what looked to be a throne room to me.
Three men, who sat on thrones, stood to attention as my father bowed down to them? He was down on his knees, and held his head low. I was so confused, and scared all at the same time.
"Ah, brothers, has it really been eighteen years? Time has gone by so fast," A man, with raven hair, and chalky skin spoke, coming down from where he sat and stopped in front of my father. His eyes met mine. It felt like time had frozen, and we were the only two in the room. A gasp leaves my lips as the other two, were immediately beside me. They moved so fast, that I didn't even notice they were next to me until the blonde on my right started speaking.
"No, these past years have gone by so torturously slow," The man who stood on my right said, with his head by the nape of my neck. I wanted to freak out, and run away, but somehow I knew they'd catch me, so I stayed still hoping they'd be the ones to move.
The taller one, with brown long hair, smiled down at me. Taking my hand, he laid a few gentle kisses to my knuckles before meeting my confused gaze. - "We've waited centuries for you mio amore," He whispered, causing a shiver to run down my spine.
I felt connected to all three of them, but yet I was still uncomfortable with how close they were.
"Brothers, come now, let us not scare our beloved mate before we have the chance to introduce ourselves," The raven haired man spoke, causing my eyes to grow wide.
"Mate?!" I practically shouted, causing all eyes to be fully on me in concern. My father was still bowed down on the floor, as the raven haired man made his way toward me. - "Patience mio amore, all will be explained in due time,:" He said softly, gently stroking my cheek with his thumb.
"Master Aro, I have fulfilled what you and your brothers have requested of me, now, can I please get what you promised in return." My father said, looking up at Aro with desperation in his eyes, but avoiding my questioning gaze.
The raven hired man, Aro, made his way over to my father and took his hand in his, "ah, we did have a deal, and I am not a man that I should break such a valuable one," Aro replied, patting my fathers head as if he were a dog. Looking over, Aro waved two people on and within seconds, they were gone, and back, but this time they dragged in a woman who looked oddly familiar.
"Annabella!" My father breathed, rushing up and toward the woman. She was tanned, and had curly brown locks that flowed around her tiny frame. She looked malnourished, and in desperate need of a doctor. Finally, I could get a good look at her face, and realized I looked a bit like her. My father brought Annabella into a hug, and she began to cry as she hugged him back tighter. Was this....a hostage of some sort? Was I a ransom for her life?
"What is going on?" I demanded, in a stern voice. Finally having enough of all the confusion and mixed emotions. My father and the woman looked at me, and when I gave them my attention, Annabella's eyes grew wide. She pushed herself out of the arms of my father, and made her way towards me.
"Oh my, my daughter, my precious child?" She asked, looking back at my dad who only nodded. Her eyes were back on me in an instant, and her hands cupped my face. She was my mother? These people had her this whole time? But what for?
"Mamma..?" I said, leaning into her touch. Her eyes filled with tears as she brought me into a tight hug, and began to whisper mini apologies to me. - "Mom, why...why are you apologizing?" I asked, placing my hand upon her cheek to wipe some stray tears. I could see my dad make his way over toward us, and he looked on at me, as my mother struggled to find the right words.
"I'm sorry for everything, never being there for you, I wish things could have been different, but...but we weren't left with any other choice." My mother began to explain.
"Let me first start off with telling you what we are,," Aro said, moving back toward his seat, along with his brothers. - "We are vampires Aaliyah, the ruling coven of the entire vampire world." Aro informed me, causing my breath to be caught in my throat. This had to be a prank. Vampires? They don't exist! No, they can't. - "You see, your parents; Annabella and Jamal, both worked for us twenty years ago," Aro began
"Two years before you were born," The blonde said, casting an angered look their way.
Aro nodded before continuing, "You see, we have rules that our servants must abide by, and if broken, there are some extreme consequences." Aro stated, an evil look forming on his face as he watched my parents become visibly uncomfortable with what he said.
"What did they do that was so bad?" I asked, stepping forward and pushing them behind me. The three men watched me closely as I did so.
The taller of the three, who looked to be forever depressed, was the first to reply, "They had you," His tired, and scratchy voice sounded out, filling the room with cold chills as those words hit me hard.
"One of our rules for our servants is that they are not to form any relationships, nor have any so called, flings, with one another. Your parents went behind our backs, believing we'd never find out about their little affair. I must admit, they did very well at hiding their relationship from us. They never really had to report to us, their only job was to help in the kitchen, and clean. It wasn't until one of the guards heard a small heartbeat radiating from your mother that we found out about everything." Aro said, looking down a bit before catching my heavy gaze.
"And this was their consequence? Separating them, and holding my mother hostage for these past eighteen years?" I asked, feeling anger boil up in me as I glared at the man.
"Yes," Was all he said, a creepy grin on his face as he stood right back up, and made his way toward me. "That was only plan b though, dear Aliyah. We had planned to force your mother to terminate the pregnancy, but...dear Marcus here, could sense a bond that you had formed with the three of us," Aro said, motioning his finger between him, and Marcus, and the blonde dude I have yet to get a name for.
"A mate bond," I said, in only a whisper, but they could still hear me. I remembered the words he spoke earlier about me being their mate. My eye fell to the ground as I thought over all he had said, and put two to two together.
"So you wanted to punish them for going against your rules, and separate them as their consequence, and force my mom from seeing me grow up? Is that what you're getting at? And if I'm your mate, someone you've waited "centuries for" Then why would you hurt me like this? I mean, you can't obviously believe I would easily, no, even think about forgiving you for taking my mother away from me, and hurting my father in the process?!" I asked in a low voice, tears streaming down my face as a horrible ache made its way through my chest. I could see the men flinching a bit, meaning they must of felt what I did.
"My dear, we never attended to cause you any pain. It was the only way we could make sure Jamal would follow through with our deal. If Annabella were with you two this entire time, we feared they'd try and take you away or hurt you. We had your safety in mind the entire time," The blonde spoke in a gentle voice, joining Aro's side, looking at me with sadden eyes.
"No! You had your own cruel desires in mind this entire time." I replied, glaring at the men. Grabbing hold of my parents hands, I backed up from them while shaking my head.
Aro sighed, looking at his brothers. "I really hate to hear such things brothers." He spoke in a soft voice. With two fingers, Aro signals two guards over, causing Aaliyah to tense in the process.
"I really hoped this wouldn't have happened, and we'd be able to forgive and forget, but my dear you only seek to make things harder." Aro continued speaking, tsking as Marcus also moved in closer, looking off to the side.
"Go get Chelsea." He commanded a blonde girl, who bowed and left.
It was getting harder to breath, the harder they stared, the more I struggled. I gripped my parents hands as the blonde girl returned, another woman following her.
Aro smiled, and looked to the two guards behind me, giving them a short nod. In an instant my parents were each dragged of by the men, their screams all I could hear as the men took them out the room.
"No! Stop this, now!" I yelled, turning to look back at Aro. My parents screams died down, but the fear of what was happening to them did not.
"Chelsea.." Caius nodded at me, the woman coming over with a smile.
"Don't worry, she won't hurt you."
"We love you, and we're finally putting you first."
Those was the last words I heard before my eyes were glued to Chelsea's, and her words soon blocked everything out. I was in a trance of some sort, but I was no longer scared....just tired.
"Everything is okay Aaliyah, it was all just a dream. You have always been here with us, my Queen. Now, go get some sleep, you need it. I'll go fix you some hot tea to calm your nerves."
"Okay," I nodded my head slowly, trying to register everything she just told me. Was it all truly just a dream? It felt so real. Looking over at the three Kings, smiling softly at them. "I'm so sorry my loves, I guess I really did dream the whole thing."
They each smiled in return as I turned to follow Chelsea out the doors to my room.
