Vickie smiled softly in relief as she set her backpack on the table, her shoulders glad to be relieved of the weight of the books filling her bag.

With tired and aching feet she slowly made her way up the stairs to her room.  As she opened her door her eyes widened in shock to see her fair skinned boyfriend sitting on the edge of her bed,  staring at his forearms.

"Hey... Jaz you okay?" She asked curiously as she shut the door softly. After receiving no answer she made her way across the room and knelt down to see him.

The sight in front of her was enough to break her heart.  His eyes held so much sadness her own started to water.

"They're hideous."

Jasper spoke,  glaring at the small cresent marks on his skin,  not noticing the horrified look on Vickies face.

"Oh sweetie...... No,  they're just scars. "

Jasper nodded and went silent again, not paying much attention to her.

Fed up with his depressed nature she stood up and rolled up the sleeves of her sweater,  showing him the dark lines that littered the insides of her forearms. 

"We all have scars,  they tell a story.  Scars are nothing to be ashamed of because they show what you've survived,  they show how strong you are.  Never think they are hideous because they are a part of you.  Embrace it and love them as I love you. "

She smiled as Jasper lifted his head up,  pulling her Into a soft kiss as she ended her little speech.

A/N~ I know a lot of you have battled Depression and I want to tell you that I understand.  I too have scars and personally I believe that you should not look upon them as weakness,  look at them as motivation.  You may have lost that battle but you survived,  and you're stronger for it.

These are some of my scars.  I want to let you guys know that I am here for you,  I care about you and if you ever need to talk,  just message me.  I promise I will do everything in my power to help you.
