"Why won't you leave me alone?"

Sophie shouted.

"I can't!"

Matt shouted back, hands up feebly defending himself as Sophie swing her purse at him. Matt has been trying to have a moment with Sophie so they can talk in private but she wouldn't give him the time and day. They just finish having rehearsal and once Matt wanted to talk, Sophie ran out of the studio but Matt continued to follow her to her apartment. Matt stood up and grabbed Sophie by her arm, and dragged her, kicking and cursing down the remaining stairs to the landing below, where he shoved her roughly against the wall.

"I'm trying to apologize to you!"

Matt spat.

"You're terrible at it!"

"You threw me down the stairs!"

"You headbutted me!"

"You didn't go down,"

Matt said, smiling between panting breaths, releasing his hold on the his best friend. Sophie let out a single burst of laughter, but then shook her head, expression pained as she looked to the ground.

'I love you, I want you, but I can't have you...'

She thought, but Matt cut her thoughts off.

"I broke up with Sora"

He said hurriedly. Sophie's eyes open wide in surprise and cast her eyes down.

"What'd you say to her?"

Matt half smiled

Flashback

Matt had arrived to Sora's apartment.

"Oh sweety, you're here!!"

Sora shouted as she ran to Matt wrapping her arms around his neck but Matt pulled away annoyed. Sora was surprise by his action.

"Um Matt..."

"Sora we need to break up"

He said cutting to the chase.

"But.."

"I can't keep doing this"

He said annoyed. Sora was quiet for a moment until a frown appeared on her face.

"Is this because of Sophie?"

She asked. Matt looked to her with a raised eyebrow.

"Whether it does or doesn't, that's not your concern"

"Like hell it is, you have been distant with me lately and I don't like it"

"I don't care, Sora we are through"

"Why?"

"Because I can't keep pretending that I'm in love with you when I'm not"

"Love will come eventually just give it some time"

She said lowly as she walked up closer to him and began to wrap her arms once again around his neck but he pulled away.

"I'm sorry, really I am"

He said walking away.

End of Flashback

"I can't be with her"

He finished

"Matt, I'm sorry."

Sophie said lowly at him sadly. Matt smiled kindly at her.

"Don't be. My heart wasn't in it"

"What do you..."

"It means that my heart belongs to you, it always have been"

Sophie looked at him with a blush growing across her face as Matt leans down and captured her lips into a loving kiss.

"Let's go out tonight"

He said once they pulled away. Sophie nodded with a bright smile on her face as Matt smirk at the look.

"Just let me get ready first"

She said quietly with a blush. Matt nodded as he gently linked his hand with hers as they headed up to her apartment. They soon reached the door as Sophie opened it.

"Make your at home. I won't take long"

She said with a blush as she hurried to her room to get ready. Matt sat on the couch with a smile.

*Few Dates Later*

Matt and Sophie were on another date as they ate their way through dinner and a super excellent desert, a rich chocolate cheesecake. They were now enjoying a nice slow dance in the private room they had all to themselves. Sophie was press up against Matt, she smiled as she nuzzled in Matt's neck as Matt kissed her on top of her head as he had his arms wrapped around her waist. Matt was the first to break the silence with a smile.

"Sophie, I love you. I'm gonna pay you back someway for all of this."

"Matt I love you too, so very much. The only way you can pay me back is to promise me that you'll be my boyfriend forever"

Sophie muttered into his neck.

"Sophie, I love you but I can't promise that"

Sophie immediately pulled away from Matt with a hurt look on her face.

"Wha…..wha…what why?"

Sophie whispered on the verge of her heart breaking once again. Matt couldn't help to smile and kissed his sweet Sophie on her nose.

"Sophie, I can't promise to be your boyfriend forever because someday…someday I hope to be ummm….your husband"

Matt said blushing furiously. Sophie punched Matt playfully when he said this.

"You big dummy, don't scare me like that"

She said and nestled back into Matt's neck, to continue their slow dance.

*Next Day*

Tai and Matt were hanging out by the pier eating ice creams. Matt was leaning against the railing while Tai sat on top of the railing.

"So tell me, how are you doing with Sophie?"

Tai asked to Matt. Matt grinned at him.

"It's going great actually, I never expected to be this happy"

"I think you might have found your soul mate"

Matt laughs as he shook his head.

"Yeah, right. There is no such thing"

"Okay then, what would you have called it?"

Matt frown in thought but soon figured out that he couldn't come up with an answer. Tai smirk as he saw the look and gently nudge him.

"You see, a soul mate"

Matt rolled his eyes.

"And what about you and Mindy?"

Tai shrugged.

"I made a few bad mistakes but she forgave me and I'm glad for that, speaking of which I need to start heading back home"

He said as he hop off the railing.

"Why so soon?"

Matt asked as he leaned off the railing.

"I have another date with Mindy"

Matt looked down at his watch and saw it was also time for him to start getting ready for his date as well.

"Yeah same here"

"Hey how about one day, we go on a double date?"

Tai suggested. Matt nodded with a smile.

"Sure, sounds like the girls would love that idea. Well see yah"

Matt said with a wave. Tai waved back with a smile.

"Yeah see yah"

'That boy sure is growing up'

Tai thought with a smile.
