Since the while situation between  Matt and Sofie everything began to calm down. Tai and Mindy had began to hang out a little more and they were currently out. They entered a cafe and Tai happily hold the door for her and let her in first like a gentlemen. They walked up to the counter.

"Hey beautiful what can I get you?"

The male cashier asked flirting. Mindy rolled her eyes as she ignored him but Tai was frowning at the guy.

"I want something, hot, tall and foamy"

She said with a smile. The guy grinned at her.

"Sorry I don't get off at 9"

He said with a grin, looking at Mindy with lustful eyes. Mindy's smile went away as quickly  as it came, Tai quickly got in between them.

"Hey she's with me, look can we just get our order, please"

Tai said annoyed. The cashier rolled his eyes to Tai.

"Nobody asked you and besides she could do better, what do say baby"

He asked. Tai scoffs.

"Yeah like she would really go out with a guy who's a cashier"

The guy glared at Tai.

"What the hell does that suppose to mean?"

He said leaning over the counter.

"It means that she has high standards and you're just throwing yourself at her, that shows that you're desperate"

Tai said heatedly with a spark of fire burning in his eyes.

"Oh yeah well at least I'm working, what the hell are you doing?"

"I working my way through a university"

"Oh geez you're a nerd, congrats"

"At least I show more character then you do"

"So what, a babe like her deserves a guy like me"

"That babe has a name it's Mindy"

He stated angrily. The cashier smirk.

"Oh I know who she is, with a body like that how can I miss it. She's a model, a very hot model"

Mindy glared at the cashier but Tai came up to her defence.

"Like I said before she is already with me"

"Yeah right, you're just her body guard that's all"

Mindy had a bored look on her face as she watch Tai and the cashier bicker on who's better. She simply rolled her eyes and glared at the cashier. She jumped on top of the counter and leaned over the counter and grabbed hold of the cashier collar catching him by surprise.

"Alright that's enough already! Just take our damn order!! Please and thank you!!!"

She shouted causing everyone to stop what they were doing and look to the scene at the counter.

"Okay, you got it Miss, sorry"

The cashier said nervously. Mindy let out a sigh as soon as she pulled away and hop off the counter and began fixing up her dress and blush as she notice everyone was staring at her. Once they got their order, Tai opened the door for Mindy shaking his head.

"That guy is unbelievable"

Tai said with a slight growl but then look to Mindy with an amused smile.

"But you handle yourself good. I didn't know you had it in you"

Mindy laughs as she shook her head.

"The guy was getting on my nerves and besides I'm just gathering a better self control of myself, because for now on I'm not letting anyone push me around like a doll and that includes my friends and close friends"

Tai smiled at the fact Mindy is getting stronger as the days went by.

"Want to take a walk at a park?"

He asked. Mindy smiled as she nodded.

"Yeah sounds good"

Together they walked to a nearby lake at the park and took a nice long stroll. Tai took a sip of his drink but he was lost in his thoughts.

'Is this a date we're on? I mean we have been hanging out a lot closer and even Sofie joked about us going on dates, I would just laugh but Mindy would just smile. If this is a date, how come she doesn't say or maybe it's a pity date because she feels like she owes me'

He thought with a frown. Tai felt a nudge on his arm, he turn to look and smile as he saw Mindy staring at him.

"Okay, tell me what you are thinking about"

She said with a smile. Tai smiled in return but it soon disappeared.

"Actually, there is something I wanted to ask you that has been bothering me"

"What is it?"

"Are we dating, by any chance?"

Mindy immediately stopped walking and Tai stopped as well as he turn to face her. He notice that she was blushing slightly.

"Would you be mad if I think we are dating?"

She asked. Tai smiled in joy at the confession but frown slightly as he remember his thoughts from earlier.

"But you're not just going out with me because you think you owe me right or is it a pity date?"

Mindy's eyes open wide in surprise at the question.

"Tai how could you think that"

She asked slightly hurt but she continued.

"You actually cared about my feelings, you put me first before anything else. I thought about what you said and I am still confused about my feelings towards you but I want to try, that's if you still want to. My head was in the clouds and my eyes were shut pretty tight. Don't you want to see where this goes between us?"

"Of course I want to but what about Derek or what about when he comes out of jail and you go back to him"

He asked fearfully.

"He is history, long gone, bye bye. He should have never put a hand on you"

Tai smiles as he walked closer to her and wrapped his arms around her waist holding her close. Mindy smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck bringing him closer.

"One thing for sure is that you don't have to worry about me ever laying a hand on you"

He said leaning closer to her face.

"Good, because I don't plan on letting you go any time soon"

She said lowly as she leaned up and pressed her lips against his.
