The next day, Sofie ask the Kamiya's for permission for to stay for at least a couple of days until she gets her own place officially. Tai's family went out so that gave Tai a chance to talk with Sofie. They sat on the couch together facing each other.

"So tell me what happened?"

He asked

"What makes you think anything happen?"

Tai grinned at her.

"Come on, you and Matt are best friends and then all of a sudden last night you decided to come and crash at my place. Yeah right. So tell me what happened?"

He asked. Sofie sadly looked down at her hands as she took a deep breathe.

"I kissed Matt"

Tai's eyes open wide at the confession.

"Wow and what did Matt say?"

"He said I was just desperate for a kiss. I don't understand, he kissed me back"

Tai smiled softly at her and gently rubbed her back comforting her. She looked up to Tai.

"How serious is he with Sora?"

Tai thought for a moment and frown.

"Actually I honestly don't know, but I will tell you this before you even came, he was so excited for your arrival"

"But he acts like I'm a bother"

"Maybe he's just confuse"

"Yeah, maybe but still now I'm nervous to even talk to him or even face him now"

"Hey it's okay, it may be awkward but you both are still friends and that's all that matters"

"But I want more. For the longest time, I loved him even though it was through letters but I never told him because I never thought it would be possible for me to get where I am today. I was living in a fairytale Tai and now it became my worst nightmare"

"But did he rejected you?"

Sofie thought for a moment

"I remember that he was still holding me but when Sora called be pulled away and he told me that I need to move on"

"Maybe Matt was just surprise and he needed time to rethink about his feelings"

"But what about Sora?"

"Honestly when I was just a teenager, I found out Sora was going to confess to Matt and I actually did like her but our relationship was complicated all we did was argue. Sora asked Matt out when he started to get popular with music"

"You think she probably got with him for fame?"

"Possibly"

Sofie let out a sad sigh as she pulled her knees up to her chest and laid her head on top of her knees.

"I was stupid to pour my heart out to him"

"No you're not, were on the same boat"

Tai said as he leaned back against the couch and tilt his head up staring up to the ceiling.

"How so?"

"The same thing happened to me"

Sofie lift up her head and looked to Tai in surprise.

"What happened?"

"I kissed Mindy, well technically she kissed me first but I wanted to kiss her too"

"Wait back up a minute, what happened exactly?"

She asked with a grin. Tai put his head down and looked to Sofie.

"I was out for a run at the park and saw Mindy who was also out for a run, so I approach her and decided to ask her if she wanted to run with me. After a while of running together she showed down and I stopped to make sure she was okay but the next thing I know she dragged me to the trees and kissed me but then she ran off"

Sofie's eyes were surprise, she never knew her best friend was capable of doing such a thing since she does have a boyfriend after all.

"What did you do?"

"Later, I went to her apartment and confronted her and she said it was the heat of the moment"

"Wow"

"Yeah, I honestly like her, but she's with Derek"

Sofie rolled her eyes at the mention of his name.

"Yeah he's a total jerk."

She let out a sigh as she nervously looked to Tai.

"Just promise me one thing"

Tai raised an eyebrow.

"What is it?"

"I'm not gonna stop you from approaching Mindy but please be careful because when Mindy's in a relationship she likes to say the truth, she hates keeping secrets so if for example because of that kiss, I have no doubt that she told Derek and Derek will punish her for even speaking or even touching a guy"

Tai frown.

"What do you mean?"

"Abusive"

Tai's eyes open wide.

"What?! And she is still staying with him?"

"She hates to be alone, she wants to be love"

"But that's not love that's not even living"

"It is to her"

"But what about her modeling career?"

Sofie shrugs.

"She puts on a lot of foundation on her skin to cover up her wounds, scars and bruises"

Tai angrily looked down at his hands that were shaking, he could feel his body tighten at just the thought of someone laying a hand on Mindy.

"What can I do?"

He asked once his body calms down.

"Until she finally comes to realize that she deserves better"

"But her partner Impmon?"

"He gave up on trying to help her, because at the end of the day he knows that she will choose her boyfriend over him"

Tai looked to Sofie.

"You know what you could do about Matt"

"What?"

"Show him what he is missing"

Sofie thought for a moment and an idea came to mind.

"How about this weekend? There is going to be a party on a cruise"

"Aren't those tickets expensive?"

"What's your point?"

Tai was at lost in words and shook his head.

"Um never mind, continue"

"Us four can get on the cruise and spend some time together"

"I thought you said you were nervous to talk to Matt?"

"Of course I am, but like you said it may be awkward but we are still friends, right?"

"Yeah, the plan sounds good but won't Derek get on the cruise too?"

Sofie grins.

"Actually he hates being surrounded by people who are better than him"

Tai laughs as he shook his head.

"Idiot"
