In which a question and a study session leads to something new.

3rd POV

Jeongyeon and (Y/N).

Two students in their years that are typically looked up to.

Jeongyeon had her group of friends and (Y/N) just so happened to be there too. The group had a meeting after school.

"Jeongyeon. Can you help me with this question," (Y/N) asked while turning to his left.

Jeongyeon scanned the problem, eyes widening slowly.

"You're not supposed to know this until two years later."

"I know but still. It's never too early."

Jeongyeon sighed at the stubborn male. She ended up helping (Y/N) at the subject. His eyes focused on the paper and Jeongyeon from time to time.

"Why can't you guys work this hard," Jihyo asked, then turning her head to the group of other younglings.

"Omae wa mou... Shindeiru."

"... naNI!?"

Dahyun and Chaeyoung screamed but Jeongyeon and (Y/N) weren't bothered.

And they're the same age as (Y/N)... Thought the rest of them.

"Anyways, how are your guy's grades?"

Everyone froze at that question.

"Y'know... Haha... Ha," Momo chuckled nervously.

"I'm actually doing not that bad," Dahyun spoke up.

"Same," Chaeyoung said.

"Me too," Sana joined in.

The rest nodded besides Jeongyeon, Tzuyu, and (Y/N).

"Tzuyu? How about you? They can't be that bad..."

"I have one C... But the others are A's."

"That's not bad. We can help you, you know."

"Thanks," Tzuyu said.

Everyone looked at the studying pair that has yet to talk about their grades. It was expected that they would be the couple with the best grades. Jihyo asked anyways.

"Jeongyeon. (Y/N). What about your grades?"

The two looked up.

"I have a B in one class."

"Same," (Y/N) agreed.

Everyone gasped.

"A... A B?"

"Um... Yeah. I'm not very good at (Worst/Subject)," (Y/N) replied, still looking at his paper, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"I'm not good at English," Jeongyeon said.

"Well, you guys are in advanced classes so you're still doing good," Nayeon assured.

"Yeah but I'd like to get better at English and improve my grades."

"No!... I can be doing so much better now but I'm not so I need to push myself more."

The two said at the same time. It was slightly unclear as to what they said.

"Sorry... Say that again? I'm not sure what you two said."

Jeongyeon repeated what she said but (Y/N) didn't. He just said,

"I'd still want maintain an A in that class."

Jeongyeon looked at him, almost asking "What are you doing? Are you okay?" But she stayed quiet.

Everyone knew that (Y/N) didn't say that before. They knew he was a perfectionist. He could feel a tense mood and broke it.

"S-so, Jeongyeon... You need help with English? I can help with that."

"Hm? Yeah. Thanks. I can help you with (Worst/Subject). I'm good at it."

"I think you guys should help the ones with a C first." Everyone looked at Tzuyu.

"No. I can study on my own," Tzuyu said, knowing what would happen if (Y/N) didn't have the grade he wanted.

The last time that happened was in his 7th year. He had stayed up all weekend studying... Literally. He hadn't slept that whole weekend.

(Y/N) had come to school that day with dark circles and had made it to classes. Once he went home, he passed out on the stairs and slept until school started again.

TWICE texted and called (Y/N) to check if he was safe and he only saw them when he woke up. He made sure to reply to all of them and noticed that Jeongyeon sent the most texts. When he went to school, he got hit for worrying TWICE so much.

Tzuyu looked at the couple again. She seemed to be in deep thought and snapped out of it when,

"hEy! You two should kiss!"

She looked at Nayeon with a judging face... But quickly smiled when she saw Jeongyeon and (Y/N) blushing. She wasn't jealous. He was a childhood friend of her's and wanted Jeongyeon to take care of him knowing that they both liked each other.

(Y/N) took out a book.

"Read this. It has some good vocabulary and shouldn't be too difficult. I have to go so ask me anything when we meet again."

"You're leaving? It's a Friday though."

"Yeah. Sorry. I have to do a thing today. Bye!"

Everyone waved goodbye as (Y/N) rushed out. As soon as he was out of sight, they all looked at Jeongyeon, who was reading the book.

"Fifty... Shades of Gray? What's that?"

(Y/N)'s POV

Sitting on the bench, I open my bag, trying to find my book. I peeked in and took out a book but...

This isn't the book I was reading... Oh shi-

I ran as fast as I could back to the school and went to the room. They were still there and now, looking at me. I silently take the book from Jeongyeon and hand her the one I intended to give her in the first place.

"Hey (Y/N), what does-"

"Ask me next time... Privately."

3rd POV

With that, (Y/N) left. No goodbyes.

"I just wanted to ask what 'humorous' meant... It's been in my head for a while now."

"It's not a bad word... Is it?"

"You should text (Y/N) to meet up."

Jeongyeon's heart fluttered a little.

"Should I?"

"Yeah! It could be a study date!"

This time, her face flushed red.

"Jeongyeon... We all know that you two love each other. It's so obvious, bro," Chaeyoung said while everyone else nodded, agreeing.

Jeongyeon took out her phone.

As Jeongyeon finished typing, her heart was pounding and her hands were sweating.

"Well? What did he say?"

"He said yeah."

"That's it? Didn't he ask what you were going to do?"

"Yeah."

"So what's the date?"

"Studying. Nothing more, I think."

"Did he ask if anyone else is coming?"

"No... Do you wanna come too?"

"Maybe we can make it a double date! Wait... No... A penta date!"

"So... You guys coming or not?"

"We're going."

On the day of the date, everyone went to (Y/N)'s with their bags, each filled with different things. All still brought their books.

While studying, Jeongyeon remembered all the words that she wanted to ask the meaning of.

"Hey (Y/N)?"

"Yeah?"

"What does 'humorous' mean?"

"Humorous means something like funny. Like 'Yoo Jeongyeon is humorous.'"

"Did you mean that?"

"If I didn't, I would've said 'Yoo Jeongyeon is not humorous.'"

The rest of the members looked with disgust. Then in very broken English, Nayeon says,

"Yoo Jeongyeon very no fun."

"I find her fun," (Y/N) shoots back.

"Oh? I find you no very fun too."

Nayeon proceeds to stand up and exit the room. Jeongyeon and (Y/N) sigh then look around. The members were gone.

"Did they really?"

"Yup..."

"They set us up too, didn't they?"

"Yup..."

"So... Any other words that you're curious about?"

"What does 'fond' mean? And 'adore'? Is 'adore' what it sounds like? A door?"

(Y/N) stiffled a laugh.

"Fond and adore have a similar meaning. Fond means liking and adore means loving and respecting someone or something."

"So... 'I am fond of (Y/N). I also adore him.' Something like that would work?"

(Y/N) blushed while Jeongyeon was just staring at him.

"Uh... Um... Yes."

"Then... (Y/N) is someone I adore a lot. He is someone who is nice to me. I am very fond of (Y/N). Do you accept my confession?"

(Y/N) pretended to think. He glanced at Jeongyeon who was still staring at him with her gaze.

"Of course."

BAM

"WOOOOOO!"

"THE SHIP SAILED!"

The TWICE members came bursting through the door while screaming. The new couple just sighed.

"MY NO-JAM BRO," Chaeyoung yelled while sobbing.

"MY BRO'S GOTTEN MARRIED! I'M SO PROUD," Chaeyoung hyped even louder.

Jeongyeon and (Y/N) just sighed once more.

"Did you always know the word 'confession'?"

"I learned it recently."

"Good job. I'm proud," (Y/N) said with a small smile.

"heY! YOU TWO SHOULD KISS!"

And they did.
