Chapter 9

It was Halloween.

"So we're having the annual Halloween party again, right? I need to know so I can set up the candy." Yugyeom said.

"Ooh, what kind of candy?" Jimin asked, a pearly smile on his cute face.

"Drugs, Jimin. Not actual candy. Also, pot brownies." Yugyeom said, and then walked into the kitchen, leaving Jimin frowning there.

The mornings of October 31st was hectic. The boys were setting up the outside of the house to make it look ~spooky~ and they were going to keep those decorations until they took it down for Christmas. They weren't going to go through all that trouble of making the house look scary just to have it up for one day. No ma'am.

Yoongi and Hoseok were outside the house, carving pumpkins. Jimin was putting up fake spider webs inside the house. Some of the boys were stringing up red lights. It was all festive friendly freaky fun.

Taehyung walked into the house, sighing. "Is Halloween today? Fuck, I completely forgot." Taehyung mumbled. Jimin tilted his head at the mint-haired boy, who shrugged. "I'm more of a Christmas guy."

"You don't like Halloween?"

"It's not my favorite-" Taehyung began, but then heard a loud squeak-shriek sound.

A body ran down the stairs, limbs flailing and then reached the groung only to front flip. "It's Halloween!!!!!!!"

"Jungkook?" Taehyung's eyes widened, dumbfounded. The boy stood by the steps in his all-black attire, grinning from ear to ear.

"It's Halloween!" Jungkook said again, fists clenched by his sides in excitement. "I freaking LOVE Halloween."

"I've never seen him smile before," Jimin said, eyes widen as well. Taehyung's nose twitched. He was trying not to smile fondly at the boy. Trying not to be weird. He walked over to Jungkook.

"That's..." Really fucking cute. "Cool."

Jungkook rushed past him, right outside. "Where's the blood! Where's the skulls! Where's the onions disguised as candy! Where's the animal carcass!"

"W-what? We don't have that stuff... We just have pumpkins and lights." Hoseok squeaked.

Jungkook's shoulders fell, along with his smile. "Oh. Y'all are boring I guess."

Taehyung didn't like seeing Jungkook's happy composure drop like that, so he quickly rushed to rescue. "Shut up, Hoseok! We do have all that stuff, Jungkook. And more."

"Really?" Jungkook asked, looking at him. Taehyung smiled wide. "Of course! All that... weird dead blood stuff you want. We can get it. Let's go buy it."

"Awesome." Jungkook's eyes sparkled. "I know a place where we can buy real skulls."

Taehyung gulped nervously as Jungkook walked past him and up to his bedroom to change. Taehyung looked at the boys, who were frowning at him.

"What the fuck?! Taehyung, I don't want this place filled with dead people again!" Namjoon snapped.

"Oh come on! Did you see how happy that weird stuff made him? We can do it one time, can't we? It's Halloween, Namjoon. Cheer up." Taehyung said, and Yoongi scoffed, stopping midway.

"You're the one that doesn't like Halloween." Yoongi pointed out.

"What do you mean, I love Halloween." Taehyung winked. "Anyways. I'm gonna go buy all that stuff with Jungkook. Make sure the beer kegs are here by tonight."

"Beer kegs?" Jungkook's voice came. Taehyung turned. Jungkook was out of his black pajamas and into his black everyday outfit (tight jeans and a tucked in t-shirt). Jungkook shook his head. "No way. Let's get straight vodka. Maybe ethanol. Oooh, that'll be funny."

"Jungkook no." Namjoon growled.

"Shut up Namjoon! Sure, Jungkook. Whatever you want." Taehyung patted his back. Jungkook nodded and began walking away. Taehyung gave the boys, who looked pissed, a sheepish smile and then followed Jungkook.

"Halloween is my favorite because I love fuckig with people and make them scared." Jungkook grinned. "Seeing the fear in their eyes... it's so much fun."

"Right." Taehyung chuckled nervously. It was strange seeing Jungkook so hyper for once. But if it made Jungkook happy and smile, then Taehyung was more than excited to do it for him.

"What're you dressing as?" Taehyung asked.

"Huh? I don't really get into the costume stuff. I guess I'll be a vampire shadow demon or something for the 3rd time in a row." Jungkook said.

"WHAT?!" Taehyung pursed his lips. "Weirdo."

"Hell yeah," Jungkook said, and then stopped in front of the crafts store which sold Halloween stuff. Jungkook rolled his eyes. "This store won't have anything cool."

"What're you talking about? Look, they sell fake blood." Taehyung pointed at the bottles displayed in the mirror.

"Yeah... Fake." Jungkook muttered. "That's no fun. I want real blood. Do you think we can get real mutilated arms? Let's go to the graveyard. Dig up bones."

"Jungkook!" Taehyung cried. "No! You're so eerie! Let's go into this store and get fake blood and skulls." Taehyung grabbed his arm, dragging him inside.

He had to drag him to the aisles. Jungkook seemed reluctant now. "Okay, shadow demon. What do you want?"

"The blood is so fake, Taehyung. It's too red." Jungkook grumbled. Taehyung looked at him. Jungkook was borderline pouting.

"No one's going to care, Kookie. It still looks real." Taehyung reassured, and Jungkook muttered something incoherent under his breath at the nickname being used. Taehyung suddenly grabbed something and then smiled at Jungkook.

"Look at this-" Taehyung said, and then fake stabbed himself. Jungkook looked. "This knife makes it seem like I was really stabbed, look!"

"That's gross," Jungkook whispered. "I love it."

"Let's buy this stuff. And then we can go find some real bones." Taehyung reassured, and Jungkook nodded excitedly.

"Do you think anyone sells dead bodies?" Jungkook asked as the two boys walked out of the store holding packets of things.

"No. God, you're weird," Taehyung whispered, but something about Jungkook being so freaky and different was... really cool to Taehyung. He was finding himself more enamored with the boy the more gross shit Jungkook was spewing out.

"I have an idea. Let's fill water balloons with vinegar and throw them at people's eyes." Jungkook said.

"No."

"Let's fill goodie bags with rat feces and make people think it's chocolate."

"No."

"Can we make Yoongi hang dead from the ceiling again?"

"No. Jungkook. Seriously." Taehyung looked at him. "I don't even know what half of the shit you're saying means. Don't scare guests away."

"You're no fun," Jungkook muttered. "Whatever. Guess we'll have a boring dance party like every other one we have."

Taehyung felt bad, seeing the cold look on the younger boy's face. He really wanted to keep the boy's excitement level high. Taehyung shifted on his feet for a few seconds, but then sighed. "Ugh, okay. I know a place we can find real teeth. Let's put it with the candy trail mix and make people eat it."

"Really?" Jungkook gleamed. "That is so fucking disgusting, thank you."

Taehyung and Jungkook dropped off their packets of stuff in the house (after freaking Bambam out with the skulls) and then went off to find the teeth. Jungkook followed Taehyung.

"If we get cheese and then paint it a little and stretch it, it'll look like human skin. Let's put that on the floors."

"Jungkook..." Taehyung said. "Fine. But no more creepy things."

Jungkook and Taehyung reached the Biology lab. Taehyung gulped. "Okay. Um. The medical students were trying out dentist shit and used real teeth to examine. There's a bag in there full of them. This is so gross. Let's go get it."

Taehyung ran into the room. Jungkook followed. They ran past the lab tables and equipment and reached a storage drawer at the end of the big room. Taehyung opened it quickly and saw a bunch of shit inside. Papers. Keys. A bag full of teeth.

Taehyung picked it up. "Ew, ew ew ew."

"Taehyung, look there are fish eyeballs!"

"Jungkook no!"

"But we can mix it in the drinks and everyone's gonna think it's fake, it'll be hilarious!!"

Taehyung glared at Jungkook. Jungkook suddenly made his eyes bigger, pouting, tilting his head. "Please?"

Taehyung stilled for a second. His heart skipped a beat. Jungkook smirked when Taehyung froze and then picked up a handful of the fish eyes (which were going to be dissected) and ran out of the lab. Taehyung stood there for a minute. He recollected himself. What just got over him? Taehyung had no clue. He ran out of the room as well, seeing Jungkook running in the distance, holding eyes in his hands. "Fucking hell, Jeon." Taehyung murmured, biting the inside of his cheek. Look at him. A dumbass. Standing there holding a bag of teeth and blushing like an idiot. Jungkook Jeon was truly getting to him, wasn't he?

"What.... is going on," Jin whispered to Taehyung. Jungkook was boiling bones in a cauldron in the kitchen.

"I don't know," Taehyung whispered back. Jungkook had fake blood on his forehead. He was wearing a shirt which said eat my fucking dick. His hair was falling down, hiding his eyes, and he was wearing a choker which had a thumb handing from it. "But look how cute he looks."

Jin looked at Taehyung for a few seconds and then shook his head. "You keep falling for weird dudes."

"What?" Taehyung asked, frowning. Jin hummed. "Nothing." Jin said, and then law down on the floor and rolled out of the room.

Taehyung walked into the kitchen slowly. "Are you prepped for tonight-" Taehyung began, putting his hand on Jungkook's waist.

Jungkook turned around in a flash and hit Taehyung with the spatula which was burning, splattering hot water all over him. Taehyung screamed in pain. Jungkook pushed him until he was pinned against the counter, defenseless.

"Sorry, I thought someone was trying to attack me."

"Who the FUCK would try to attack you in the middle of the day in the kitchen???"

"I don't know. There are people everywhere." Jungkook looked around for a few seconds, and then back at Taehyung. "What do you want?"

"Nothing. Fuck. Let go of me." Taehyung growled.

Jungkook eyed him for a few seconds and then smirked. "No. It's fun seeing you squirm."

"Why? God, you're weird." Taehyung said. Jungkook caged Taehyung to the counter, hands on either side of him, holding him onto it. Jungkook leaned close.

"You smell like axe body spray," Jungkook whispered, sniffing him. "I don't like it. The scent is too harsh for my nose."

"What do you want me to use? Fucking rose water?"

"Sure. You can borrow mine." Jungkook grinned sleazily. Taehyung almost smiled looking at him.

"You're acting weird today, y'know that?"

"Bad weird?"

"Good weird."

"Oh." Jungkook stepped away. He nodded. "Um. I guess I'm weird around friends."

Taehyung smiled at that. "I don't mind. I think it's cute."

"Cute?" Jungkook looked at him with annoyance. "Stop calling me cute all the time."

"Okay sorry. I think you're manly tough rough virile hunky brawny cool brave Harry Truman, Doris Day, Red Chins, Johnnie Ray, South Pacific, Walter Winchell, Joe DiMaggio, Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Studebaker, television, North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe."

"Stop fucking saying the lyrics to We Didn't Start The Fire!" Jungkook cried. "You're weird."

"Bad weird?" Taehyung said, coy.

"Yes," Jungkook said, and Taehyung hit his hip. "Whatever. I'm going to change into my costume. See you later, demon." Taehyung winked at him, and Jungkook continued boiling the bones, ignoring him.

But when Taehyung went away, Jungkook smiled to himself. "Demon." He whispered, and then rolled his eyes while blushing a little bit.

"Welcome to the Spooktacular Alpha Kappa Pi Halloween Fest!" Bambam cheered as people walked into the house, dressed in costumes. You couldn't tell people apart. Something about it was very thrilling. Strangers danced and made out. Not knowing someone's identity was part of the fun, sometimes.

"Hey, these candy eyeballs you've put in the drinks are really tasty and chewy." A girl said to Taehyung. Taehyung laughed nervously and then ran away from her.

He walked into the kitchen. There was a big bowl of alcoholic fruit punch which looked like blood (not acid, to Jungkook's dismay) and a bunch of edibles on the counter. Taehyung walked up to the tray and picked up a pot brownie. He took a big bite.

"Taehyung!" Jimin called. Taehyung turned around. Jimin was dressed as Katy Perry which, honestly, was a little weird, but Taehyung wasn't one to judge.

"Jimin! Hey man. Nice wig." Taehyung said, and Jimin grinned. "Thanks! Who are you supposed to be?"

Before Taehyung could answer him, someone did for him. "Deadpool?" Jungkook's voice came. Taehyung turned around to see him. "Are you serious? That's not even scary."

"Sure it is. Besides, look how nice my ass looks." Taehyung said, turning a bit to show his ass off. He was wearing a tight suit which replicated the Deadpool costume. It was really great and made him look really fucking cool. Also, his ass looked dummy thick.

"Can't deny that," Jimin said. Taehyung fist-bumped him. Jungkook stood there, dressed in a black frilly shirt and tight trousers, a cape, fangs sticking out from his mouth along with blood dripping down his lip. He wore demon ears and some makeup on.

"I think you're taking this a little seriously, Jungkook," Jimin said.

"Shut up. I'm not. Who the hell are you supposed to be anyway? Ariana Grande? Fuck you."

"Jesus Christ, relax. I'm gonna go dance. Bye!" Jimin waved his fist and then rushed away to join the sweaty bodies dancing in the living room.

Taehyung walked closer to him. "You look like you're 12."

"Shut up!" Jungkook grumbled. "Stop making fun of me. I look scary."

"Of course you do. Ah! I'm so scared!" Taehyung gasped fakely, and Jungkook pursed his lips, looking away. Taehyung poked his stomach.

"Hey. I'm kidding. You look great. I'm not making fun of you." Taehyung chuckled. He finished eating his pot brownie while Jungkook looked at him.

"I'm a shadow vampire demon."

"I know. You look like one." Taehyung said. He really didn't know what those three words combined were meant to look like, but he could pretend he did for Jungkook's sake. Jungkook nodded firmly.

"Cool. You don't smell like axe body spray anymore." Jungkook said.

"I showered. Now I smell like fucking... Le Petit Marseillais Extra Gentle Shower Cream Orange Blossom," Taehyung said, wriggling around. "That's the name of my body wash."

"I got that." Jungkook laughed. "Are you high?"

"Nah, waiting for this edible to kick in though. Then I'll be gone. Try one." Taehyung said, handing Jungkook a pot brownie. Jungkook looked at it for a few seconds and then took a big bite.

Jungkook ate all of it quickly. "Nothing's happening. Maybe I should eat more."

"No! Never do that. It'll kick in slowly. Probably take an hour or so. Let's go dance." Taehyung grabbed his hand.

Taehyung dragged him down the kitchen and into the living room. There were more people than usual, so Taehyung held onto Jungkook's hand tighter. He dove through bodies until they reached the middle of the living room. Some loud pop number was blasting through the speakers. People were jumping up and down, raving.

"Do you dance?" Taehyung asked, shouting loudly over the voices of people.

"Sometimes," Jungkook replied dryly.

"Awesome. Hold me." Taehyung said, and then gripped onto Jungkook's sides and began dancing. Jungkook stood still for a few seconds, not responding.

"What are you, a fucking sim? Dance with me, idiot." Taehyung said, and Jungkook rolled his eyes and put his hands on Taehyung's waist. They began dancing.

The song changed. Pour It Up by Rihanna swirled around the dance floor. The aura very quickly changed from fun to sexy. Taehyung smirked at Jungkook.

"Are you wearing eyeliner?" Taehyung asked Jungkook.

"Yeah," Jungkook said, hands limp on Taehyung's waist, not moving much. Taehyung was still dancing a little, swaying mindlessly.

"You can hold me a little tighter, can't you?"

Jungkook tightened his grip on Taehyung's waist, pulling him closer in. "You can stop ordering me around, can't you?"

Taehyung bit his lip, concealing his smirk. "You can dance, can't you?" Taehyung whispered.

"Maybe," Jungkook whispered to his ear. The beat shifted, going faster. Jungkook spun Taehyung around, and then slotted his front to Taehyung's back. "If you stopped talking, I could've shown you earlier."

"It's part of my charm, doll." Taehyung whispered back to him. Taehyung let his lips roll back against Jungkook, and fuck, his pants really were tight against his ass. Jungkook could feel everything. He blended to the beat with Taehyung, swaying with him.

It was so sudden. The heat between them. Their closeness. The thump of the bass radiating in Jungkook's ears. Everything was getting louder, the air hotter. The voices beside them turned away. All Jungkook could feel was Taehyung.

"You're a little lightweight." Taehyung smiled. "Already losing it, aren't you?"

"Huh?"

When did they start grinding? When did Jungkook get so close to Taehyung? He felt stiff, let so loose. His hands were gripping Taehyung's hips mean, and his crotch was rolling into Taehyung's ass. It all shifted too fast.

So fast. They were grinding. It felt so obscene, a part of it, maybe a little too sexual and too close. Jungkook didn't know why he felt so enthralled. He could smell Taehyung. All of him. He was holding him. He was feeling Taehyung move in slow circles against him. It was all too much.

Until Jungkook was turned around. "You're losing it," Taehyung whispered against his ear, his lips almost tracing it. "Let's go upstairs."

"Upstairs?" Jungkook asked. Colors were fading into one another. Bodies were sludging into the ground and disappearing. The array of bodies were beginning to look like a Jackson Pollock painting.

Taehyung was lacing their fingers together and taking him upstairs. Jungkook couldn't breathe. He felt stiff. His feet ran up a flight of stairs and he had no recollection of any movement. Taehyung took him into a balcony.

"You've never taken an edible before, have you?" Taehyung asked, sitting him down on the floor.

"No. Help me. I'm falling."

"You're not. You're sitting on the ground. Relax." Taehyung sat down beside him. "You need water."

"I need.... I need water. I need air. I can't breathe. I haven't breathed for the past 3 minutes."

"Yes you have. If you freak out then it'll get worse for you. Just listen to me speak. Jungkook? Jungkook? Focus on my voice." Taehyung said, guiding his arms around Jungkook's waist. "Can you hear me?"

"Yes." Jungkook leaned into him. "What's happening?"

"You're really high. The brownies hit you too hard. You should've told me you hadn't taken an edible before, idiot." Taehyung muttered. "You're breathing really fast. Don't be so tense."

"I'm scared, Taehyung. I'm falling, Taehyung." Jungkook shoved his head into Taehyung's shoulder. "I'm dying."

"No you're not. You're fine." Taehyung chuckled. "Fuck, it's gonna hit me soon too and then we'll be a mess. Should I call someone? Maybe Jimin should be here with us. He's probably high too. Fuck." Taehyung said. Jungkook shook his head.

"No. Let's be alone." Jungkook held onto his Deadpool suit. "You're leaving me."

"No I'm not. I'm right here." Taehyung snickered. Jungkook was on his lap now. "You're fine." Taehyung soothed, rubbing his side.

Jungkook's eyes were closed, sitting pliant on Taehyung's thighs, head tucked in his neck. Jungkook whispered hushed words into his neck, words that sounded like Halloween and home and mom and I'm dying. Taehyung put his head on Jungkook's shoulder.

"It's hitting me."

"Who's hitting you?"

"The brownies."

"The brownies can't hit you, they don't have arms." Jungkook said.

"Fuck, you're right. Oh my god." Taehyung cried softly. "You smell really good." Taehyung squeezed the boy's waist in his arms. "Really really good."

"Hm?" Jungkook opened his eyes. "I can see."

"You've always been able to see." Taehyung pointed out.

"I know but..." Jungkook laid against his shoulder again. "It's different this time."

This newly November breeze rushed past them in ghost waves. Music was playing from downstairs. People were laughing. But every sound was mushed together and all Jungkook could hear was Taehyung's heartbeat.

"Dub dub dub." Jungkook mimicked his heartbeat. "Dub dub."

"Stop beatboxing."

"Sorry."

There was a strange light in the distance. Maybe it was there, or maybe Jungkook was seeing things. It was brown. It was dazzling. Maybe he was looking into Taehyung's eyes.

"I don't think I've ever talked this much to anyone," Jungkook said, now laying fruitless on his lap. "I can talk to you about anything."

"Mhm. Except spiders, I don't like spiders, they are scary."

"Why."

"They have 8 legs and would eat me if they were bigger," Taehyung mumbled.

"Understandable." Jungkook sighed against his shoulder. "Am I really weird? Or are you joking?"

"Mmm." Taehyung sounded. "You are weird. But it's... cute. You're creepy and freaky and ominous but I think it's fucking adorable. I want to hug you."

"You are hugging me."

Taehyung hummed against his neck. Jungkook looked up into the sky. "I think you're weird too," Jungkook said. "You talk too much and smile too much and wear colors that hurt my eyes."

"But it's nice?"

"But it's nice."

"You know." Taehyung murmured against Jungkook. "If we made out right now, that'd be kinda hot."

"Yes, but I am about to pass out for real. Bye."

Jungkook passed out. Taehyung held him in his arms for a good half an hour more before picking his heavy limp body up piggy-back style and carrying him to his own bedroom. Then he tumbled over him and onto the bed. He spooned him and went to sleep.
