Chapter 1 The Spider

Alex was with Leo and they were friends, they celebrated together in the spring festival. On that day they saw spider. It wasn't any ordinary spider, suddenly the spider spoke, it told them to follow him.They were very confused, so Leo and Alex followed the spider away from the spring festival and into the woods. Then the spider stop and said bye bye and it disappeared out of no where. Leo and Alex were lost. Leo had some sunscreen, six pennies, a tent, a sleeping bag, beef jerky, an apple, a watch, a drink bottle half full and torch in his backpack. Alex had a full drink bottle, some matches, twenty dollars, two bananas, some bread, a sleeping bag, a butter knife, a piece of rope and some string. They heard a very dim voice calling at them.

"What's that?" asked Leo.

"What?" Alex replied,

"Nevermind."

They were lost had had no idea why the spider had lead them in into the forest or why did they even follow the spider in the first place.

"How do get out of here?"asked Leo.

"I don't know, let's explore around" answered Alex.

So they started walking, soon they came to a closed crate. On the crate was a letter,

It said:

You must find twenty keys to escape,

Look for the gate you must find is guarded by Apes.

Find the crates and don't be late,

This isn't any imaginary place,

for once you get the giants embrace.

Love Spider.

Leo finished the sentence while angrily chattering his upper jaw with his bottom while Alex was busy trying to open the crate.

"There's a button on the crate here, but it's red with an angry face. What do you think we should do?" asked Alex.

Leo looked around the crate and and called out to Alex," There's another button that's green over here, should I press it?"

" Yup, go ahead" replied Alex.

So Leo pressed the button while Alex came to look, the crate sprang open. Alex and Leo peeked inside. It was a baton, with golden carvings on it and some ancient letters, they looked like roman numerals. There was nothing else in the box so Leo closed it. Alex told Leo that they should keep on exploring so that they could maybe find more of those boxes.

Chapter 2 Under attack!

After an hour of searching, they sat down for a snack recovering from all the hard work. Leo had his apple and Alex had all the rest of bread which was left from the festival. Soon Leo heard the voice again, it was louder but Alex still couldn't hear it. It sounded like some sort of Wolf howling, Leo was curious, so he told Alex that he definitely heard it and to set off. the voice got louder but Leo noticed that it was getting late so they had to set up the tent and sleep. Alex woke up in the middle of the night and wondered why he had woken up, he decided to go outside and get some fresh air. That's when he heard it, a howl, making a chill run down his spine. Despite all the sound, the snoring Leo still hadn't woken up. So Alex went back into the tent to wake up the snoring Leo and he went to get all the stuff ready. Leo packed up the tent and they set off at about 5:00 AM, Leo was still only opening one eye. Soon they found the wolf, it was quite easy to spot because it was huge, it was about as big as two average cars and it was rushing straight at them crushing all the trees in the way, Alex was still staring at the wolf with his jaw stuck to the ground while Leo pulled him aside, the wolf rushed right past the two boys, crashing down another lot of trees. He turned around angrily flames rising up in his eyes, it charged again eyes focused on Leo and Alex, it knocked Leo down while Alex dodged out of the way. The wolf pinned Leo down on the ground as his snarling face and the gaping mouth came upon him.

Chapter 3 Defeated

Alex watched in horror as the wolf went to eat Leo. He quickly threw the butter knife at the wolf's eye, the wolf snarled in pain and threw Leo into a hole that is about three metres deep. Then it went for Alex, Alex had no weapon to use that he could think of and the wolf was charging right at him.

Then Leo suddenly called out from inside the hole" Alex, use the baton!"

So Alex reached into the bag and pulled out the baton they had got from inside the crate and the baton shined gold in the moonlight's reflection. Alex raised his baton just in time to block one of the wolf's charges, the impact sent Alex tumbling away.

"The wolf is too strong, how am I going to get through this?" thought Alex.

He could possibly win this battle if there was Leo to help him but there was no time to save Leo now. He'd have to survive as long as possible without Leo to help him. He dodged another striking blow and swiped the baton down on the wolf's back the wolf howled with pain and Alex jumped on top of the wolf's head, smacking the baton right on to the wolf's face. The wolf paused, then the wolf started to shake violently around, trying to get Alex off his head but it failed since Alex kept hold onto the wolf's fur. Soon the wolf started headbutting against a tree and Alex fell off, the wolf loomed over him. Alex knew he was in trouble he had no Leo to help him and all he had was a useless baton, all he could think of is running but now isn't the time. He ran to the the wolf leg and waked the wolf's leg as hard as he could. The wolf howled in pain again and kicked Alex away.

He was lying on the ground. The wolf slowly walked over to him and he knew this was the end.

Chapter 4 The glowing baton

Suddenly, the baton started to glow, it's golden case popped out and it changed into beams, the beams struck the wolf and nothing was left of the baton or the wolf except a key, and it said : beware the Eagle's sharp talons...

Alex shook his head and stored the key into his bag. He spotted a crate in the far corner and went to open it, he pressed the green button and the crate sprang open, he saw a potion, it was a healing potion, perfect for healing Leo's leg. He started to find Leo he started by calling for Leo, there was no reply. Next he tried finding him, he couldn't find anything anywhere.

Had Leo died? Thought Alex but soon he had heard a voice.

He followed the voice, finding Leo inside the hole that was three metres deep. Leo was holding his knee and he called out that his knee was very badly bruised, and he thought his leg was broken.

"Don't worry" said Alex.

He threw the potion at Leo, Leo poured it all over his knee, it instantly became better.Alex took the rope that he had out of his backpack and tied it to the end of a tree, Leo grabbed hold of the rope and tried to get up but he had to have Alex to heave him up instead.

" Where's that bad wolf?" Leo asked

" He got defeated by the baton" answered Alex

" Ok" replied Leo. They set off finding more crates but they didn't find any, so they decided to get some food. Leo got some bananas and Alex killed a chicken he came across. They gathered some firewood and set the flames high into the sky to cook the Chicken and fry the bananas. They realised it was nighttime so they set up camp and crawled into their sleeping bags.

The nighttime past without any interruptions from outside, Leo and Alex slept in until 10:00 AM and woke up. Leo shared with Alex his beef jerky and they set off again. They decided to find more food for later uses. Leo did find a flint in a cave they came across but it was too shallow to continue going. Alex killed a monkey with his butter knife { that still survived from the wolf battle } and cut its meat. He found container to put the meat in and then he stuffed it into his bag.
