Special Tennis!

"Hello everybody and welcome to..."

"SMASH SUMMER GAMES!" They all cheered and clapped. They stood in the tennis field, surrounded by roads of toads, yoshies, shy guys, and all other kinds of people.

"That's right! I'm your referee, Daisy! Today, you'll be playing tennis Aces style! First, one v one, then two v two! Sound simple, right?"

"YEAH!"

"Alright, the match between the Strikers!" Robin, Peach, Zelda, Roy, Ike, and Samus cheered. "And team Brawlers!" Palutena, Marth, Lucina, Pit, Shulk, and Link cheered. "Begins.... in five minutes. You guys will have some time to strategize before each match. Our first will be," Daisy picked two slips of paper from a hat. "Peach vs Link!"

Link scoffed and cracked his knuckles, making Palutena cringe a little. "This'll be easy."

Peach smirked and put a hand on her hip. "I wouldn't be so cocky, hero." Link blushed a little and turned back to his team.

With the Strikers~

"Alright, Peach, Link's all muscle and no brain," Robin quietly said. "Well he's got some brain, but he's definitely more power than speed and technique."

"Okay, but isn't he, like, a hero? Shouldn't he be more technical?"  Peach asked, clutching tight onto her racket.

"Well, this Link hasn't gone on any adventure, unlike his predecessors,  so he probably isn't as smart," Robin said.

"Harsh."

"Whatever, he's a power-house, he's... okay fast, and he isn't the smartest, tricking him will be to your advantage."

"Alright! I'll kick his ass."

With the Brawlers~

"Unfair, they got the smart people," Pit whined.

"Excuse you, we have smart people, like me for example," Marth smirked.

"Keep telling yourself that, bud," Roy said.

"Shut up, Roy."

"Okay, okay, calm down, we've got this! I know Peach is good when it comes to tennis, but she's not so powerful, she's pretty fast, and... and... that's all I know," Palutena sighed.

"Welp, this is gonna be interesting," Link said.

"Players, please go to the field!" Daisy announced. "The match is beginning."

"Good luck, bud," Shulk said. Link smiled and nodded. He grabbed his green and blue racket, with a Triforce designed on it. He stood on the right side of the net and held on tight to his racket.

Peach took a deep breath and took her racket from the toads. She made sure her short pink dress wasn't dirty. She tightened her ponytail and put her pink wristband. She turned to Link who was practicing his shots. She smirked and moved to the back pf the field, and catched the ball Daisy threw her.

"The match begins now!" Daisy said. Which ever team wins the most matches, well, wins this event! Now move to your positions!" Peach nodded and moved to the back right corner of her spot. Link didn't move though. Didn't seem like he had heard Daisy either. Peach took this chance she hit the ball with enough force for it to go over the net and past Link, giving herself a point. Peach smiled and punched the air.

"LINK! PAY ATTENTION! THE MATCH EFFING STARTED!" Marth yelled.

"Effing?" Shulk raised an eyebrow.

"Pit is right there," Marth pointed at the angel, who was talking with Lucina and Palutena. Shulk nodded and went to talk to them as well. Marth sighed and yelled at Link to do better.

"Shoot, I'll pay attention okay?! Chill," Link yelled, slightly calmer than Marth. Daisy threw the ball to him. He adjusted his visor and pushed his bangs behind his head, only for them to come back down. He sighed and threw the ball to the air, and hit it to the other side. The crowd cheered when Peach blocked the shot.

They passed the ball between one another, until both of them where at match point.

"Alright, this match will determine the winner between these two! And also affect the over all winner," Daisy said. "Peach, you serve!" She threw the ball to Peach. She catched it and just as quick passed it over the net. A bead of sweat ran down her forehead as Link hit the ball all the way to the front. Peach panicked for a second, but trick shot it by throwing her net up in the air and spinning to the ball. She hit the ball to the back. Link moved quick and deflected her shot. He smirked.

Next shot, he was gonna do it.

Peach sighed and returned the ball. Link got near the ball before he suddenly had a gold outline to him. He put his net in front of him and closed his eyes. Peach recognized what he was doing.

And she knew just how to block it.

The Triforce on Link's net began to glow, and he jumped as he raised it into the sky with a battle cry. He shot the ball to far away from Peach, to 'guarantee' his victory. How wrong he was.

Everything went in slow motion for Peach. She ran to the ball, illusions of herself running behind her and disappearing as she ran further. She got next to the ball, close enough for it to not be a body shot, but for her racket to be able to handle it. She hit the ball with all her force as time went back to normal. Her racket didn't break. Instead, the ball flew to the end of the field, not giving Link enough time to react.  The crowd erupted in cheers and her team ran up to her

"Game set and match: Server! That makes the Strikers ahead! But remember this isn't the end!" Daisy smiled.

"Dammit, I thought I had her," Link whined.

Peach giggled. "Looks like royalty comes on top, hero!" Link smirked and chuckled. He walked back to his team, slightly ashamed. Marth patted his back and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry, you did good," Marth said.

"We'll get 'em!" Pit winked. Link grinned and nodded.

***

"Palutena vs Zelda!"

"Palutena's a trickster, I assume you know that, right?" Robin asked. Zelda nodded.

"Okay, I think Zel's power? Or maybe defense? Technical? All-round?! I don't know!" Palutena whined.

"It's okay! You'll be alright," Lucina reassured.

"Zel! If Palutena uses her special shot, here's how to block it!" Peach said and whispered it into her ear. Zelda nodded and gave them a thumbs up. She made sure her shorts weren't revealing, well, the bottom of her bottom. She tugged a little on her purple tank top and she tied her brown hair up into a ponytail.

Palutena took a deep breath and floated into the field. She decided to float instead of stand, mostly because she was too lazy. Daisy tossed her the ball and she served it right away. Zelda hit it with her net, and it was coming straight at her. She was about to hit it, when it suddenly curved to the left. She dove to side to try and hit, making sure that no one saw under her short dress. She missed it however, by a just a little, earning Zelda a point.

"You've got this Pat!" Lucina cheered. Palutena stood up and flashed her a smile and thumbs-up. Daisy gave her the ball again and she served it. The ball curved to the right, but Zelda was able to hit. It returned to her quick, and she quickly curved back. Zelda teleported to the ball and powerfully hit away from her. The ball was too quick for her, so Zelda gained the point.

"Sheesh, this is gonna be a lot harder than expected," Palutena sighed.

***

"HOW IS THAT FAIR?! SHE TURNED INTO ANOTHER PERSON!" Palutena argued.

"Well the rules didn't say you couldn't do that!" Daisy raised her hands in defense. "So I'm sorry but it counts." Palutena groaned and glared at the blonde with tan skin. She glowed and turned back to Zelda. She looked at Palutena and smirked slightly. Palutena sneered and turned back to her team.

"Don't'cha worry, Pat, we'll beat them!" Lucina said.

"Yeah! And there's a lot more coming, we can still win!" Pit grinned.

"Yeah!" Palutena smiled.

***

"Marth vs Roy!"

"And that's were we lose," Samus sighed.

"Hey come on! Have some faith in me!" Roy yelled.

"Shush! Now Roy, Marth's pretty all-round, his speed is slightly more than the rest. He's not a trickster, so don't worry about curve shots," Zelda said. Roy nodded. "You have no idea what I mean, do you?" Roy nodded. Zelda sighed. "Just do your best, we're already in the lead."

"Yes ma'am!" Roy saluted and walked to the field.

"We're doomed," Peach face palmed.

"We know," the rest said.

"Okay, Marth, this should be easy, right?" Link asked.

"Yeah, Roy's weakness is pretty obvious," Marth sighed. "Everyone, say it with me..."

"HE'S DUMB!"

"Yep, I'll beat him," Marth said.

"Game set and match: Server!" Daisy announced. Roy yelled and threw his broken racket to the ground. Marth smirked and rested his on his shoulder.

"Well that was easy," he said quietly.

***

"Robin vs Lucina!"

"Oh dear," Robin sweat dropped.

"Alright, like Marth, Lucina is mostly all-round, she's also a lot more tricky than him, but I assume you know that, " Zelda said. Robin nodded. "Good, now don't let your love make you go easy on her."

"W-what?! I-I don't love her, she's my friend," Robin said, his cheeks tinted pink. Zelda sighed and patted his back.

"Keep telling yourself that, we all know you have crushes on each other," Zelda said. Before Robin could object, Zelda pushed him to the field. "Now go!"

"Oh Luci," Palutena nudged her elbow. Lucina's whole face was red, and she tried to hide it with her hands.

"Stop, Pat!" Lucina whined. The boys sighed.

"Girls, eh?" Shulk said. The rest nodded.

"Go get him, Luc!" Palutena waved as her friend walked to the field.

Robin served the ball. It was his match point, and Lucina was two points behind. He was going slightly easy on her, but not too easy. Does that make sense? Lucina hit the ball right back next to him. Thanks to being literally the slowest person between both teams, he missed the ball and Lucina gained a point. Now she was a point behind him. If she got one more point, it would be match point.

"Match point: Robin," Daisy announced. He sighed adjusted his visor and sweat dropped slightly. He served the ball with a lot of force. Lucina wasn't able to move out of the way in time, and hit her straight in the stomach. "Body shot! Game set and match: server!"

"Lucina!" Robin ran to the net and tried to hop over it, but there was some invisible wall stopping him.

"Sorry, but people from the other team aren't allowed on the opposite team's side," Daisy shrugged.

Robin rolled his eyes. "Lucina, are you alright?"

Lucina groaned and clutched onto her stomach. She gave Robin a thumbs-up and a smile. Robin sighed in relief and smiled. They returned to their teams, high-fiving them as they went.

"Good job, Robin!" Ike grinned. "Now we're in the lead."

"We're gonna win!" Roy said.

"Now it's time for two vs two matches," Samus groaned. "I'm still tired from my match with Pit."

Zelda nodded. "Same here, let's just hope we don't get ca-"

"Time for two vs two match! Samus and Zelda vs Shulk and Marth! Players, please move to the field," Daisy said.

"Wait, match?" Samus asked.

"This chapter's already long enough, so there's only gonna be one," Daisy said, her voice sounded slightly disappointed.

Samus and Zelda facepalmed. They grabbed their rackets and walked there. They decided Zelda should stay front and Samus back. Marth went back and Shulk went front. Daisy threw the ball to them. Marth served it, and Zelda quickly blocked it. Shulk hit it, she blocked that one too. It kept going like that for a bit, until finally, the ball went back to Samus, and she was able to get them a point with a body-shot on Marth.

"Zelda! Use it!" Samus yelled.

"Shoot, Marth don't hit it to her!" Shulk ordered.

"It doesn't matter!" Marth said. He hit the ball to the other side of the net, within Zelda's reach. Everything seemed to stop.

"We're done for," Marth face palmed.

"Don't worry, we've got this!" Shulk grinned.

"You're very enthusiastic for someone who's about to lose!" Samus smirked. Zelda was floating in the air, her racket floating next to her. She had her arms on her chest, and her eyes were closed. Four glowing balls circled around her, then they were all absorbed into the racket. Zelda opened her eyes and took her net. She aimed at Marth, and hit the ball. Marth's net broke, and he was launched back, slightly.

"Game set and match: Server!" Daisy grinned. "And that's the end to the tennis event! The clear winners are, the Strikers!" They crowd cheered, and the team had a group hug, a sweaty group hug. The Brawlers smiled and clapped at them.

"We'll beat them next time," Link promised.

"Uh-huh, we'll see next time in..."

"SMASH SUMMER GAMES!"

A/N: Disclaimer: I don't own Mario Tennis Aces, so, yeah. Next chapter is gonna be... something new I'm trying, I guess? It's not gonna be related to SMASH SUMMER GAMES, but it'll be different.

Also! With the next chapter, I'm gonna do a Q&A of sorts at the end, so if you want to ask any questions, go ahead! Just, don't take it too far. You guys know the limit. I don't mind answering questions about emotions, but if things go too far... I might have to delete your comment, and I really don't wanna do that because I know you guys are nice people.

Alright, now that strict Em is gone, back to normal Em! I hope you enjoyed this chapter and see you in the next!

-Em :)
