Connections- Pretty Little Liars (2)
Hanna’s POV
I was at Spencer’s with Emily and Aria. That new teacher Miss Fitz was oddly familiar and she had too many connections to the people of the town.
“So she’s Ezra’s sister?” Emily questioned.
“Yeah,” Aria nodded.
“We should write down everything we know about her. She was dating Jason, she could be the one that killed Ali,” Spencer stated pulling a notebook and pen out.
“She babysat Caleb when she was nineteen,” I said, “And that was four years ago so she is twenty three.”
“She is Ezra’s younger sister,” Aria explained.
“She was in the N.A.T club and was friends with Ian and Garrett. She dated Jason and started so when they were fifteen,” Emily stated.
“Her and my sister hate each other,” Spencer explained.
“But why would she kill Ali?” Emily questioned.
“Ali seemed to get enemies in every way she could. She could have tried to break Cassidy and Jason up?” Aria stated.
“Sounds like Alison,” I sighed.
Alison had more enemies than friends she caused havoc to every person that she met, even her friends.
“So how are we going to find out if she killed Ali?” Aria asked.
“Question her or even Jason. You can speak to Ezra and Hanna can speak to Caleb,” Spencer stated.
“Then you can talk to Jason, seen as you are half siblings and Em can speak to the demon herself,” I smirked.
“She could be really nice and we’re accusing her of killing our best friend,” Emily frowned.
“We accused Toby, Jason, Ian and Garrett. And two out of three of them had done something bad so we could find out something she’s done,” I shrugged.
“Tomorrow we’ll talk to them all and find out everything we can about her connection to Alison and Rosewood,” Spencer stated.
~*~ The Next Day ~*~
Cassidy’s POV
I was sat on my couch (well Jason’s couch) and flicked through the channels to find something to watch. It was a lazy day seen as it was the weekend. I had my baggy pyjamas on with my blond hair in a mess. I had my glasses on which was rare- I preferred contacts. As I got a movie that seemed reasonably good the doorbell rang. Standing up and walking to the door I opened it to reveal Emily and Spencer.
“Hi is Jason in?” Spencer smiled.
“Yeah he’s out back you can walk round if you want to talk to him,” I shrugged.
“Thank you Miss Fitz,” Spencer smiled walked around the house. Emily stayed in her spot in front of the door.
“Can I help you Ms Fields?” I questioned.
“I wanted to talk to you, if that’s okay?” She smiled.
“Sure come on in,” I shrugged moving out of the way letting her into Jason’s house.
I led her to the front room and we sat down on the two couches.
“So what did you desperately need to talk to me about?” I questioned turning the sound down on the TV.
“I was just curious about your and Alison’s relationship. She hated most of Jason’s girlfriends did she hate you like that?” Emily questioned.
“A bit, when we first started dating she was nine. She got quite jealous that he spent all his time with me rather than her. For a nine year old she was manipulative, she almost made us break up several times. She’d lie to Jason or even his parents. I’m pretty sure one of them was that I had killed someone, another was I was cheating on him. She also told me lies that Jason abused her and things like that. We never actually broke up though, after a couple of lies we didn’t believe what she told us,” I shrugged.
“How can you say a bit she seemed to highly dislike you,” She stated.
“I basically grew up in their house she got used to me. She threw everything she had at me but she got the message that I wasn’t budging. I left when she was fifteen and she seemed upset about it, neither she nor Jason contacted me though,” I sighed.
“So the two of you were close after she stopped attempting to break you and Jason up?” She questioned.
“Yeah, I grew up with two brothers, so she seemed like a sister to me,” I shrugged.
They were some rather odd questions for a person that barely knew me to ask.
“Did you ever hate her for what she did to you? She had a lot of enemies would you have classed yourself as one of them?” She asked.
“No. They were petty pranks. I really couldn’t hold anything to her, my younger brother used to do the same to me and he and I would do the same to our older brother,” I stated, “I don’t really have any enemies other than your friend’s sister.”
“Ali never actually mentioned you,” Emily explained.
Spencer’s POV
“Hi Jason,” I smiled walking into his garden to see him digging up some earth.
“Hey Spencer what are you doing here?” He questioned standing up from his hunched over position.
“I wanted to talk,” I explained sitting on the steps that led to his house.
“Okay shoot,” He stated sitting down next to me.
“Your new roommate Cassidy, did she ever fight with Alison?” I asked.
“A little, Alison never liked my relationships with anyone. She tried to break us up numerous occasions but Cassidy took it well. They became friends in the end,” He explained with a small smile on his face.
“Did either of them get to the stage where they’d hate each other?” I questioned.
“Ali hated Cass a lot at the beginning of our relationship but warmed up to her. Cass never really hated Ali though she saw her as a sister in the end,” He shrugged.
“Do you think Cassidy would’ve held a grudge on Ali?” I frowned.
She seemed like the prime suspect of being Ali’s other best friend not her murderer.
“No, she is a nice person,” He stated.
Aria’s POV
“Don’t you find it weird that I had you as a teacher then your sister, do you think Wes will get his teacher’s degree and come to Rosewood?” I chuckled.
We were lying on the sofa with my head rested on his chest, as he flicked through the channels to find something we’d both enjoy.
“Cassidy has always looked up to me, hence why we both changed our last names to Fitz and why we both became teachers,” He shrugged stroking my hair with the hand that wasn’t on the remote control.
“What was she like growing up? She seems nice,” I asked.
“She had a temper and was very witty and sarcastic not that those aspects of her have changed. She was friendly and sensitive as well as thoughtful. She wasn’t overly intelligent but she passed every subject the school could throw at her,” He shrugged, “She always has worn her heart on her sleeve.”
“She seems like a great person,” I smiled weakly.
“She is. I always got along with her better than Wes maybe because of our ages, I don’t know. She wasn’t always a nice person though. She could hold a grudge over pitiful things and she knew how to get revenge. It was kind of scary. As long as you were nice to her she was nice to you,” He stated.
Hanna’s POV
“Isn’t it a coincidence that you’re old babysitter is Ezra’s sister and Jason’s ex-girlfriend?” I smiled softly as we cooked our lunch.
“It is. She never mentioned having siblings or being in a relationship, she basically told me everything about her parents and a guy she liked,” he shrugged.
“Was she a good babysitter?” I questioned.
“Yeah, she basically let me away with everything. She only got mad at me once when I smashed the window,” He stated.
~*~ Later that Day ~*~
“So we have nothing to prove she would have killed Ali?” Aria sighed.
“Jason thinks she’s a great person, she never hated Alison. They got along after she stopped trying to break them up,” Spencer explained.
“Cassidy basically said the same thing. She never lost her temper and once Ali stopped they were best friends,” Emily shrugged.
“Although Ezra said she has a bad temper and knows how to serve revenge. What if Ali pushed her over the edge and Jason never knew?” Aria questioned.
“Well Caleb thinks she’s the best thing since sliced bread. Supposedly she never got angry with him,” I sighed.
We all looked the same tired and un-sure. This woman was a prime suspect to be Alison’s killer but nothing could explain that. Once again our ideas of her murderer turned into nothing but a theory that was more than likely wrong.
