So, Marinette is over Adrian, and it's 2 years after the events of the series so far. Marinette has a boyfriend, Luka. Adrian however (or something idek at this point) is over Ladybug, and he likes Marinette, and it seems to be following him around everywhere that he missed his chance with this girl.
