Chapter 30 Awaking
A/N: Alright time to update.
Chibi A/N: Dude you pretty-
A/N: *Grabs Chibi A/N by the collar* I know I'm late, now would you stop reminding me about it before I put You in a pickle barrel!
Chibi A/N: *Shaking* O-ok...
A/N: Good! *Drops Chibi A/N* now let's get the story started already.
Chibi A/N: Don't you mean-
A/N: Chibi A/N.
Chibi A/N: Right shutting up now.
A/N: Alright. Let's get back to the story!
April was following this odd boy through some alleyways. She can't shake the feeling she was being lead to somewhere, but where she couldn't figure out. It felt oddly familiar though like she's seen this alley before. The thing is it wasn't in new york it was something else. Hang on...
April: Wait... I know this place. I think I saw I covered something about this...
That's it! She covered a story on the Heaven's Gate catastrophic reactor meltdown! Every news outlet was in the US was covering that event. She wasn't there personally obviously, but the footage of this place was handed to her from an anonymous source. Probably a survivor that got out of the city.
April: Wait, this place is in an alley somewhere in Heaven's Gate city... How did we get from here from New York?
The boy she was following didn't answer as he kept going down the alley without a car in the world. She started to get scared as she continued to follow the child. Even though she would try to run at this point, however, she needs to find a way to her own plane of reality and he's the only lead she has right now.
April: Where are you taking me?
She timidly asked as she honestly was somewhat afraid. After all, the Turtles can't help her here as far as she knows.
Boy: I can't tell you just yet, but it's somewhere very special.
That flipped a few red flags in her mind as the way the boy said that he sound... Creepy. Like he has something planned for her that doesn't exactly have her best interests in mind. However, despite her body telling her to get the fuck out of there before this kid turned into a monster and hacked her to pieces, she kept following him as her curiosity was far too great to overcome... Which most of the time gets her into some hot water, but not so hot the turtles can't just bail her out. In short, she's taking a huge risk following this Dark Child.
Boy: We're almost there. You need to close your eyes. Don't want to ruin the surprise after all.
Ok... Even more red flags are signaled to April, but she was still determined to find out what this boy had planned for her... That doesn't mean she can't ask if she was in any sort of danger which she has a feeling she was downstream of shit creek which out a paddle.
April: A-are you going to hurt me?
She asked understandably scared and the boy just laughs as if that was a silly question.
Boy: Hurt you? No no no, I just want to show you something that'll help you understand what is about to happen.
Well... At least her head wasn't about to be mounted on a wall. Still kinda terrifying as the boy wasn't even hiding the fact he was either a demon or some malevolent entity. I mean he sounded drown right Insane.
Boy: Here. You might want to have this.
The boy pulled out a strange blindfold that had some ancient language she can't read. " If this is Dunce in some alien language I'm gonna scream. " She mentally states in an effort to calm herself down as she hesitantly grabbed the blindfold and put it on.
Boy?: Good! Now relax and take a deep breath.
The thing the boy was started to sound much more older. April prepared herself to see some kind of eldritch abomination... Or something absolutely ridiculous like a giant floating spaghetti monster with an Italian plumber riding it. However, she would be very mistaken, for what she saw was far worse than anything she could imagine.
???: Alright... Now take the blindfold off.
A chill ran down her spine as she felt something horrid behind her. It felt like she was being crushed by its presence as her body started to shake while she slowly took off her blindfold to see... A massive creator in the middle of a ruined city?
April: W-wha-?
She was confused at first. Then she saw a sign that caused her eyes to widen in shock. It read... Heaven's Gate Nuclear Power Station.
April: Wait a minute! This place is-
Suddenly whatever was behind her placed its face right in front of her. It looked like a tall shade made of the darkest of shadows. There were no defining features about it... Aside from two things. It wide toothy grin that only a mad man can muster and the eyes of a being with nothing but morbid delight and pure unfiltered madness which had a green glow as his smile grew wider. A name sudden burned itself to her mind as if the creature before her was greeting her in an unnatural way... It was Insanity.
Insanity: That's correct my little birdy! This is the very spot where that so-called Catastrophic Nuclear Meltdown happened. The Truth, however... Well, just go look in the creator and you'll get your answer.
April was definitely terrified by the entity before her as she just stood there shaking in terror. Normal any Evil Presence would get annoyed... Insanity, however, he enjoyed the terror coming from the girl. It made him laugh to see someone so scared of something like him. After all, he can't really do much to her in his current state... Or rather with the current level of mental integrity the girl has.
Insanity: Relax. I didn't draw your mind into this world just to harm you little bird. If I was going to do that... Well, let's just say you wouldn't even be here. Hell, I could have put you into a brain-dead state, but that would be no fun! I hate it when things bore me. You won't bore me now would you miss O'Neil? Would you?
April could tell a threat from someone like him from a mile away. It's not like he was hiding it though, the question is why? Why pull her here and what does he have planned? Even if she didn't know exactly what he was planning she can hazard a guess and say it definitely isn't to open a flower shop.
April: W-what do you want!? Why are you doing this!? Who propose does bring me her have!?
She shouted practically demanding answers and Insanity's grin widened a little.
Insanity: You know it never gets old when someone asks me that. Why show me this? Or, Why are you doing this? Even, Why did you just do that? Well... I'll be more than happy to tell you the answer just as I have done before...
The gap between April and the edge of the creator suddenly vanished within a blink of an eye and the plucky news reporter gasped as she almost fell down into the pit before her only barely managing to regain her balance. What she saw however both shocked and confused her. The was a pure black void at the bottom of the pit... Wait... Is the void moving?
Insanity: What I am showing you now is a pit filled with a living tar-like sentence that can infect a host via forceful oral transmission from what you will soon know as Husks, these beings will rapidly evolve and seek out hosts with extreme aggression... That is the basic form of it, however. If one knows how to properly use this substance then they can make Biological weapons that can have minds of their own. They can spawn out of these pits, however, without proper guidance they will be nothing more than an uncontrollable beast... At least for anyone that isn't me that is.
Well shit... April can tell where this is going. Every villain she ever encountered either wanted to conquer the world or end it.
April: I-I assume you plan on taking over the world... Or at the very least destroying it?
That question makes Insanity laugh hysterically. This only made April worry about what would be worse than being dominated by a dark lord or complete annihilation. However, she would get her answer soon enough... Much to her chagrin.
Insanity: Oh don't make jokes like that! It's far too boring to concur or destroy the world!
He states in between his unnerving chuckles before catching his breath and looking at her with the same insane grin one would have when that person has gone off the deep end and then some.
Insanity: What I plan to do is cause as much suffering to every soul as possible. Whether that be physical or mental it does not matter. So long as I can hear their cries of sorrow and agony I'll be content. However, I do plan on having fun beforehand with your band of mutant animals that some twisted soul pleasures themselves to every night before crying to sleep.
For a moment April winced a little as that was a little harsh... She didn't know why he said it, but she could tell it was meant to be pretty harmful. The terror soon returned as the entity grabbed her collar and lifted her up into the air showing an impressive amount of strength despite his arm being somewhat thin... To thin for anything to be natural.
Insanity: But to do this I still need an army... And what better than the very people your armies are supposed to protect as well as their brothers and sisters in arms.
April desperately clings onto the entity's arm as she can tell what's about to happen next from a mile away.
April: You're going to drop me down there aren't you?
She asked in a somewhat resigned tone making the entity grin grow slightly wider.
Insanity: No...
For a split second April was somewhat relieved... Untell she realized that she's dealing with a crazy bastard that by all means is supremely evil. His next words only enforce this.
Insanity: I'm going to throw you in there!
April really didn't see the difference seeing as she was going into the hole either way... Until the Entity threw her... Really hard as she started to tumble in the air a bit, however, when she impacted with the black goo within the pit it suddenly shattered like glass and she started to fall slower.
April: What?
She was looking at the night sky of New York in total confusion before she was turned around by an outside force to see her home city burning and in complete chaos. It was being assaulted by pale monstrosities that looked like people... Only deformed into abominations that make anything the Green Goo has done so far seem like child's play.
Insanity: Magnificent isn't it?
April looked to her side and saw the entity just floating next to her staring at the carnage as a Painter would look on at the grand design he had just made.
April: T-the Turtles will stop this! They dealt with monsters like you!
She states showing open defiance towards the monster. Most of the time this would anger others making them retort with a threat... At least in April's experience, but this entity was different. He seemed to enjoy her small act of courage. It assumed him.
Insanity: Oh I'm sure they'll rise to action. It'd be very dull if they sat back and watched the world around them burn. But before I go wait for their arrival there is something I'd like you to tell them...
April suddenly felt an invisible force start to tug at her while he was saying this. It felt like she was being reeled in like a fish on a hook and before she had the chance to ask the grinning entity what message he wanted to give... Well, to put it bluntly, he gave the message.
Insanity: You'll find the answer to saving this city-Hell the world for that matter in the tower my minions built, you should know it well. But if you can't racking your brain a little the name Ark Tech should help you ring a bell or two up there. Oh and the answer will need a key, you'll find the key to the answer in another world. Also, don't try to save the Husks. The people they once were are gone...
The force that was pulling April was getting really strong as she felt like she was being forcefully yanked into a wall by an invisible rope. Insanity leans over and looks straight into her face with the horrifying grin still plastered on his face.
Insanity: Stay out of trouble now. Wouldn't want a fatal incident to happen... Ta-ta~!
After he said this she was suddenly pulled violently through the city. She fazed through buildings like a ghost, catching glimpses of people getting attacked by the pale monsters before she was plunged into the sewer system. For a split second, she saw Racheal carrying a girl in her arms while leading a robed man who seemed to be wounded back to the hideout. Soon she zooms past and without noticing as she was going way too fast, she fazed into the hideout and entered her body which Splinter was currently watching over. April's eyes suddenly shot open wide as she gasped for air and quickly sat up surprising Splinter slightly as she didn't expect her to exit her comatose state so soon.
Splinter: Are you alright child!?
April looked frightened as she started to breathe pretty hard after experiencing that vision she had. It was far too surreal to be a dream.
April: I-I'm not s-sure...
As she said that Splinter laid her back down.
Splinter: Take your time to gather your thoughts. I'll go make some tea.
Before April could say anything Splinter got up and opens the door to see Michelle goofing around with chopsticks in her nose while everyone else was eating some noodles as they were preparing to head and to find Racheal. They would have ordered some pizza's but there was currently a horde of monsters attacking everything in sight.
Splinter: Michel, what did I say about putting those in your nose!?
After saying that she closed the door behind her as April let out a sigh.
April: At least nothings changed around here...
She said out to herself as stared up at the ceiling still processing what she had just witnessed.
A/N: Alright, I'm gonna end it there.
Chibi A/N: So... No (Y/N) this chapter?
A/N: Trust me we'll have plenty of him next chapter. After all, the party is just getting started.
