Just like the usual days I went to Tom's dorm.

"The moly is doing great, maybe I can take care of it." Tom says as I enter. "You might not need the extra marks for the N.E.W.Ts but I surely do." I throw him a dirty look and start taking care of the plant. "Tom ?" I say after finishing my work with the plant. He looks up from his diary and I continue "What does it say in dad's notebook ?" "It's locked with a charm but I can break it." He looks back at his diary. I clear my throat to get his attention. "What?" He frowns.

"I was wondering if you would like to be my date for Slughorn's-"

"No!" He snaps getting up from the couch "Just because I kis- "

"-I never talk about that! It's you who always thinks about it !" I argue and he stares at me realizing his mistake "I was talking about going as friends." 

"I don't attend stupid parties." He sits back on the couch "You can leave now." He says pointing at the door. I take my stuff and leave, angrily.

*The day of Slughorn's party* 

Yes I know the dress is not from this era. I know Abraxas is going to wear something green but I'm still wearing black because I want Tom to look at me and Abraxas and feel jealous. I want him to feel regret after rejecting me!! Someone Knocks at the door, probably Abraxas.

Now I feel dumb after wearing this, I don't even know if he will ever see me in this outfit! But it's too late to change. I open the door and Abraxas's charming smile disappears seeing my dress. "I...I thought you were wearing green." His voice shatters my heart into pieces. He's the only one who has ever cared for me, he tried to keep me safe from Tom but here I am disappointing him by dressing for the same person. 

"The green dress wasn't looking good on me." I say in a sad tone. 

"Oh come on don't be sad." He lifts my chin with his index finger and gives me a genuine smile "Black looks good on you and you will stand out because of your gorgeous dress...but I don't think I've ever seen a dress like this."

"Mom made the design of it, I had always found it fascinating so I asked Delfina Crimp to make a dress inspired by it." Lying is getting so much easier day by day.

"Interesting. Anyways lets get going." He extends a hand and I take it gracefully.
