Woods & Young!Tyler's Mother
Requested by: Paryew
Tyler's mother is 5 years old in this short story assuming that she was born in 1963. It is also assumed that Tyler's mother immigrated to Canada some time after the Vietnam War.
Since Tyler's mother's name is not known, she is referred to as Fe/N (female name) in this story.
This short story is also tied to the mission "Victor Charlie" in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010).

February 5th, 1968
Southern DMZ, Vietnam
A group of SOG operatives led by Woods landed in the middle of the jungle with the task of finding a high-ranking Viet Cong officer near the area they were deployed at.
Woods: Check your weapons and keep an eye out for anything suspicious.
Tom: Roger that.
Benedict: Got it.
After going down a path for almost half an hour, Woods and his team took a break. That was when he heard a branch snap.
Woods: Shh!
Woods and his men grabbed their rifles and aimed at where the sound came from. As they moved closer, a pair of small hands appeared from the bushes, pulling it back to reveal a young girl.
Woods: It's just a girl...
Dolan: Crap man, I thought she was Victor Charlie for a sec.
Tom: At least we didn't shoot first.
Woods: Can anyone speak Vietnamese?
Benedict: I can.
The rest looked at him with their eyebrows raised.
Benedict: What? Is it not natural to learn the language here?
Benedict then conversed with the girl in Vietnamese. Her name was Fe/N and she came from a village not far from where the men were. Fe/N then led Woods and his team to the village. The first night, Woods and his team had dinner at Fe/N's house. They got to know more about Fe/N and her family.
During their stay, Woods and his team thoroughly searched the village for the high-ranking Viet Cong officer. In their freetime, they played around with Fe/N and her friends. It was on the third day when they discovered one of the locals was the high-ranking Viet Cong officer Woods and his team were looking for. The officer almost got away until Fe/N's father helped Woods stop him. Woods soon radioed command for an exfil when possible.
February 9th, 1968
After four days of waiting, the reinforcements came. Three Huey helicopters landed near the village and dropped off US Marines. Woods went to one of the helicopters and saw his long-time friend, Alex Mason.
Woods: Mason!
Mason: Woods! How you doin', brother?
Woods: Same stuff, different day.
Mason looked over at Fe/N, who was standing behind Woods.
Mason: Who's the girl?
Woods: Her name's Fe/N. [to Fe/N] Fe/N, this is my friend, Alex Mason.
Fe/N: Hello.
Mason: Hey there, kid.
Woods: So Mason, what's up now?
Mason: Got intel from Hudson. There's suspected Soviet activity not far from this area. We're heading up there now. Word is that Kravchenko's been spotted there.
Woods: Kravchenko?
Mason: Reznov's convinced that we'll find him there. We should get going now.
As Mason went to his helicopter, Woods went to his team and said goodbye to them. Before he left, Woods went to Fe/N.
Woods: You be a good girl when I'm gone, okay?
Fe/N: Ok...
Fe/N hugged Woods, who returned the hug. Woods broke away from the hug and met up with Mason in the helicopter, taking one last glance at the village and Fe/N before flying away.
